Please be something new!

That's a misleading post on BeatFass's part. Looks like the interview is coming via the Sydney Morning Herald.  http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/movies/while-littleseen-at-home-tribal-romance-tanna-will-get-a-us-release-20160511-goryeq.html

QuoteHe is in Sydney filming Ridley Scott's "Alien: Covenant," with a cast that includes Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett and Demian Bichir.

"There are going to be great sets and aliens coming out of people," Michael promised about Ridley's "Covenant," the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that started with "Prometheus."

"It's amazing to watch Ridley work. I try to soak up as much knowledge as I can from him, because having worked on this kind of films a few times and having seen how many moving parts there are, how many people work on the set and how many departments need attention and the language, he's an absolute master.

"The sets are fantastic. Again, the most impressive sets I've seen since 'Prometheus,' which was the original setting. It's a fantastic mixture of high-end technology and primitive elements. The way that I can explain it is the same way that Ridley did 'Blade Runner.'

"You have this futuristic world where people are eating noodles, because that seems to be the cheaper food and something that will fill you up. But it's also something that harks back to the past. The weaving of those two things—past and future—together makes for an interesting world that we can aspire to, but also recognize something in it."

On what he packs when he travels from his London home to places like Sydney, Michael said, "I don't think I have anything other than the script that I'm working on. I take a computer, because I use that to help with work. And my toothbrush (laughs). I don't have anything that I hold onto that much, to be honest."

Sydney Morning Herald posted their interview with Fassbender but barely anything in it regarding Covenant:

QuoteSo it's a surprise to hear Fassbender say he always tries to bring comedy to his performances.

"I just look for different types of characters but maybe all of them are a little extreme," he says. "I think I should probably start looking for comedies now. That's probably what I'm going to try."

He played an offbeat comic role, an introverted singer who wore a giant plaster mask, in Frank two years ago and says he tries for humour with David in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant as well.

"I try and bring comedy to everything, even if it's a horrible sinister character. Even Epps in 12 Years a Slave. That scene where I'm chasing Solomon around and slipping in a pigsty. That reminded me of a Buster Keaton sketch or Charlie Chaplin."

'Frank'... I love that movie!  It's my fave Fassbender movie to date.

It's on my list to watch but I just haven't gotten around to it yet!

Holy Christ :o :o :o

Interesting concept and creepy creature... I like it. Looks somehow sentient to me? ??? :P
Is that some sort of Xeno or entirely different creature, I wonder?

Where did you get this painting?

It's from the artist's Facebook page. He describes it as a warm-up/sketch. I doubt it's actually from the film (I don't think any of the artists would dare to post any of their related work up on social media) but it's a nice indication of the talent behind the new film. I noticed one of the other artists liked it too.

I found it on Instagram. Shared by Lisa Javelin who also works on film.
May be an indication of the direction taken by the artistic team?

I don't know if it has anything to do with Covenant though.

Perhaps. It definitely looks vaguely Alien.
