Looks like the tweet has been deleted.

Marina tends to tweet, delete, tweet again.

Could be, although Fassbender was also spotted surfing and hanging out in Aussie on Sunday.

True, true. Perhaps filming has finished in Milford. Details are getting a bit fussy atm.

It's not uncommon for them to be multiple working units. Especially for FX stuff and well, like explosions... In the case of Fassbender being there with Scott, they could fly them in for one day while the rest of the Unit does everything else.

Certainly a possibility. But the other units tend to have specific directors as well.

CainsSon

That's very true, but it could also be a day to day thing, like Fass is there with cast on two days with Scott directing and then a 2nd Unit director blows the thing up another day or works with stunt doubles.

I'm really just saying it's hard to tell much based on the photos.

Ok, so it's going to be visually very different:

It's not quite as simple in this case. They'll need to catch a plane from Sydney to Queenstown for a three hour flight, go through immigration/passport control and customs and then catch a single or twin prop plane to Milford Sound (if the weather allows them to fly) and then squeeze in fourteen hours of filming before going back to Sydney.

So it's not simply a case of filming in New Zealand the one day and Australia the next and then back to New Zealand the next day again.

I can assure you this type of thing happens, sounds like you're correct in saying it's problematic for this but just possibly not in the same day, but overnight for sure possible and especially for people like Fass and Scott. The production will easily throw that money around to fly them back and forth if it saves them money on Production length for locations and rentals and every other expense. But I'm not particularly attached to any of these ideas. I'm just letting you know that having multiple builds going on in different locations and flying people back and forth saves them millions of dollars and is common practice. They could easily build for one scene on a stage, shoot it while the build happens in New Zealand, then fly to new Zealand and shoot while they strike and build on that same sound stage. Totally normal practice.

I wonder how so. Perhaps Scott has abandoned the grandeur this time around.

In a follow-up question, Stolen (Blade Runner) asked Wayne if it will be visually different to Alien:

Quote from: Blade Runner@ankaris @_kemosh_ @blahokblahwhat Last question please, Covenant is visually different from Alien ? #aliencovenant#ridleyscott#prometheus

Quote from: Wayne Haag@Bigosaurus @_kemosh_ @blahokblahwhat Yes.. In many ways. Can't say more than that! ;-)

QuoteI'm looking forward to Alien: Covenant, but having been part of DH's Prometheus team and seeing how many changes the next...

movie went through as we were doing that (based on the changing requirements and taboos), I'm expecting another Frankenmovie.

I don't know what role he played in Fire and Stone but the changes throughout development have always been a bit of a concern to me.

Not really anything. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/ridley-scott-gathers-stars-in-sydney-for-filming-of-alien-covenant/news-story/967f9e52a9b24356e39441a31a866bdd

Well we knew it'd been through a lot of changes. To what extent and the quality of this next one up still up in the air. It does scare me though - it has for a while.
