After narrowly escaping a Xenomorph attack and crash landing on the wrong planet, former military man Chris Temple just wants a peaceful life with his daughters. He just needs to deal with the brewing civil war and a Xenomorph on the loose.
War will always find a man like you.
This ALIEN story begins where most end: with a xenomorph loose on a damaged spaceship hurtling through space. Once a highly decorated marine, Chris Temple, a recently widowed single father to two young daughters, Jane, 11, and Emma, 8, is onboard. Despite his particular set of skills, Chris doesn't get involved in the fight with the alien, instead focusing on keeping his children safe as the ship comes in for a crash landing.
The family land safely on an idyllic outpost planet, where Chris is told that the ship has been destroyed beyond recognition and nothing could have survived the crash. That's only the first lie. Chris and his daughters love their new life, but something doesn't feel right. Chris is a paranoid type, but just because he's paranoid, doesn't mean he's wrong.
There are nasty surprises in store as Chris investigates the web of lies and conspiracies. After leaving a ruined Earth, it seems Chris and his daughters have crash-landed on a planet on the verge of all-out civil war. Chris will have to call on the battle skills he never wanted to use again in order to protect his daughters, deal with violence-hungry marines, and battle the xenomorph that's killing people regardless of which side of the civil war they're on.

Not a big fan of the title. It loses its flow with "Uncivil".
Why not just call it "Civil War" and lean into the irony at that point?

Finally something original! No previous characters or relatives! Agreed on the clumsy title, but I don't care too much about that. Knowing how the last novels have been, I'm not getting my hopes up. And since the last and only YA novel the series had was actually good at least for me, knowing he wrote coming of age stories might even be a plus for me. We'll see. Glad to see something new, but I'm not getting my hopes up on the quality, that needs to be proven again.

It Sounds interesting. It appears that there will be only one Xenomorph in this one. I would love that, we have plenty of stories with swarms of Xenos. Having just one should give Opportunity to build up its dangerous nature and strength.

I think whoever wrote the synopsis may have leaned too heavily into the Taken vibes with that description, but I'm certainly curious about picking up a narrative after an incident. Gives me Sacrifice vibes tbh. Not keen on the title (it does feel like a mouthful) but I'm definitely curious about this one!

Hey, that's a story I think we all want to hear about. The story about the man who served Ripley an ice cream cone before the fated Nostromo run. And then he shows up 57 years later and serves Ripley another ice cream, feeling that he met her before but can't quite put his finger on it.

Sounds intresting. Only thi g i dont really like the sound of is the 'xenomorph that's killing people regardless of which side of the civil war they're on' part. Kinda gives me Alien³ xeno vibes. Hopefully it takes and we get egg morphing or the xeno metamorphosis through stages into a queen like in AvP 2010 instead of 'slasher villan'.
I intensely disagree, overexposure can kill sense of threat, especially if this is a story about paranoia keeping it to one Alien that just kills works perfectly.
What "War" are we still missing? Can we get AvP: War War next?

Completely forgot about this cover... They had this and released that horrible ACM photoshop? Why the hell does my copy not have this gorgeous piece of art as the cover? It even looks a bit old school in the lighting/contrast. Beautiful colors. Even more beautiful details! Why doesn't Fox/Disney get this artist on the next cover?
And if the cover for Uncivil War is really done by the same artist that did Charybdis, then the shadows and coloring must be what's off. Cause it really doesn't look as good the one from Charybdis, or even similar in style... Still, it's not "bad", better than the ACM and cheap photoshop covers!

Wow, it would be really great cover, no idea why they went with this ugly, photoshoped piece of shit. Fortunately in my country our local publisher maybe is taking their time with publishing Alien novels, but they are doing great job with covers. Here's their piece for Sea of Sorrows. They will be getting out Cold Forge next and I can't wait for having this brilliant book with quality cover art it deserves at last.
As for cover for Uncivil war, it's pretty okay. I'm glad Titan stepped up with their covers. Even if some of newer ones are just ok/mid, they are at least original arts, not ACM Photoshops.

Yeah, but we often must wait for them a long time. With Alien books I brought and read most of them already in english. But with our local editions they look so nice on shelf with hardcover and such a nice art, so I'm buying them again :)

Ya I think that's exactly the reason for the delay. Merchandise sales increase during movie release windows which is a bummer for Alien Day but alas.

None of it's canon.
Which doesn't really work from a continuity POV. But things are constantly changing as to what is or isn't canon so I'd never be surprised to see them referenced.

I Believe Scott said in an interview that it takes place in the 25th century. Based on the math on the book, I came up with ~2554, long after Resurrection. This is based on the type of ship the NanShan was and the Zachariah model, who had a serial number almost identical to Walter's
