Some of the FX's Legion cast being in Predator Skulls and some of them most likely being in FX's Alien?
It is a good day for Lucy then!
It appears Kyle Strauts only started following Amber (at least liking) her posts this year, so the geiger counter is definitely going off with this one.

I hear ya. I was considering writing an article on it a couple of days ago but was weary of it being so speculative, catching on perhaps like wildfire, then ultimately being deemed incorrect. So I tried to confirm it with a source but hadn't heard back.
I'm glad if anyone else, Discussing Film breaks wide with this one, because they broke Skulls originally, a year before anyone knew it was a Predator film. :)

See to me, in that collection of scenes, everyone acting against Amber is the better actor (over Amber.)
But this is a job well done here by her though:
Either way, she's got a real nice screen presence.
To be fair in Legion the character's one who's never even experienced normal bodily functions so if the performance's strange it's meant to be.
Hope so! I watched some other vids non-Legion related and was getting that same type of performance - but I'm definitely rooting for her! :)
Perhaps Noah Hawley just cast her for the right role... in that case then... that's worrying.
Yeah it might be. Like when I watched this trailer I found her acting a bit worrying...
Not convinced either. But acting's such a complex thing, depends on what the role is, what direction the director gives etc. I saw many actors being meh or even bad in some films, and being great in others.
Honestly I don't like the choose of this actress. That one from the audition test, Cheyenne Seleah, seems better.
I think I'm going to try going in with no expectations on this one.
I'm not really familiar with Amber myself, but that's something I'm actually really looking forward to with Skulls.

Well, I hope this rings true and Amber is fantastic in Skulls!
With those pieces of dialogue proposed? Hardly possible.
Amber was also in this horror/thriller called '14 Cameras'
Been meaning to watch it for a while actually, as it's a sequel to '13 Cameras' which I have seen.
Yeah... I had watched that trailer too RT but unfortunately Amber isn't really featured to get a good read on her acting/line delivery.

I don't usually like bringing up politics, but the summary of this movie makes it out to be the typical "woke", virtue-signaling garbage that has increasingly permeated the flophouse over the last several years. "Defying gender norms"!? GTFO.
Though I will attest to her being very easy on the eyes, I don't know enough about the actual actress herself or her acting abilities.. And that's a bad sign, I'm fairly certain she isn't cut out for this kind of role.
Yuck, no thanks dude.
You can't go 5 minutes without someone bringing up politics these days.
You can't even watch a movie or play a game without getting preached at.
This? This is peak divisive trash that only serves to push another agenda.
Poor Preds can't get a break. Guess the Xenos can't either.
Every movie has a social or political agenda.
Just say what you really mean without being so PC about it.
I think woke is self-explanatory enough. I still think it's too early to judge.
We could have a very good film, or a very bad one, there is just not enough information as of right now to know if it leans towards good or bad.
The premise/setting is different (which I love), that's the one thing we are sure of.
Woke isn't self explanatory, it's a meaningless buzz word in this context.

It all depends on how it's handled I think. How well it's written. If the film's script is full of misogynist caricatures with an effort to step on one sex to uplift another, and begins feeling like a shallow lecture to the audience, it will go south fast unfortunately and be rejected by many males and females alike. But if the characters feel real and the story enveloping the Comanche culture and a woman trying to push past any gender roles feels organic and true to its core, I think audiences as a whole will embrace Kee as a protagonist. Hoping for the latter! 🤞
IMO I don't want to see a female Predator in this or implied in any way. Given it's a female protagonist going up against a Pred, having it female Vs female would really devalue the whole proving herself as a warrior.
I want the Pred to beat the crap out of her before she inevitably beats him.

They do, whether it's intentional or at the forefront or not. Your average 80s actioner, for example, operates under the idea that guns are good and that violence solves everything.
Are they trying to be deep or meaningful about it? Were the filmmakers even conscious about their beliefs dripping into their work? Of course not, in most cases. But the stories we tell and how we tell them are always going to be influenced by how we see and experience the world whether we try or not. It's inevitable.
Male empowerment is just as much a social comment as female empowerment, we've just come to accept it as the standard and everything else is "woke".

Yeah, I don't subscribe to a blanket statement of there being at least a subconscious social or political
agenda on every piece of fiction put on film, something that would require a subscriber of this to manufacture imagery in every 80's & 90's B & C movie horror, monster, fantasy t&a schlock and drivel I've seen to produce some subconscious social or political agenda. Too many movies already have been thrust more meaning upon them than they were designed, where audiences and even sometimes the creators say - yeah, no, that's some crazy interpretation yo. But that's what it is, interpretation versus design. So I don't buy into a blanket subconscious social or political agenda on every piece of fiction put on celluloid. Yes we are a sum of our experiences, but making everything put to pen in this context to me is just putting a square peg in a round hole. It's overthinking to the highest degree.
Most of that c level dreck carries some pretty obvious, casual misogyny or racism, so no, we don't really need to force meaning or go spelunking to find examples.

Yeah, I do have some hope Dan will raise the bar for the cast based off the fact Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman were so bloody good in 10 Cloverfield Lane.
I was convinced Shane Black was gonna hit a home run with The Predator though so my guessing game is questionable ;D

If her characters story is essentially in it's simplest form - encounters predator/defeats predator in the finale then IMO it's not a good piece of casting. I just don't see her as a credible lead for this type of movie.
CAUTION - POST CONTAINED AN OPINION OTHERS ARE AVAILABLE.
So I watched Amber in The Ice Road over this past weekend and I must say... she did a pretty decent job in it! Amber was good enough to calm my fears that she probably can deliver the goods in Skulls (if the script has goods to deliver.) So that is personally a relief to know. :)

I watched it last night. She was OK. It's going to be down to Dan and the script as to what performance we see from her.
Yeah, she still wouldn't be my top choice, but I feel better about her casting after watching The Ice Road then I did watching that rough Only Mine trailer and some clips from Legion.

To be fair to goose, he's not assuming anything. Canon right now is saying it, that the Jungle Hunter & City Hunter are male.
But with that said, I'd love to see a female Predator on screen, like Cleo who bested Dutch!
It depends 9n design really. I always liked idea female Predator are similar to male, but much bigger and meaner. I'd say SuperPredator form Predators fit quite good.

It depends 9n design really. I always liked idea female Predator are similar to male, but much bigger and meaner. I'd say SuperPredator form Predators fit quite good.

And from the little we know, if they all are like the Cleopatra Predator, the Predator females are just as tough (or perhaps even tougher) than the males, seemingly more ruthless, direct and responsible for the scar on Dutch's face. She don't play!

Well, yeah I don't really like it. Much better then pornstar boobs female Predator from most of fun fiction, but still to much human like.

This I dig.
I dig it too, but I'm not certain how it's different from the current females in lore in regards to a female human form with breasts.
I do love the longer dreads though! :)

I don't dig the breasts ( Predator ones), but I do dig the size difference.
Predator boobs are my Alien skull.
Except the Alien skull actually has some logic behind it.

Meaning, I do like the length difference being driven by sex. :)
In regards to AvP dreads specifically though, my issue was never length, but rather they came across too stiff and ridged, resulting in (to me) an appearance of more costume fabricated versus organically grown.
My wife just won tickets to the Liam Neeson movie she's in so I'll let you know how she goes
Oh lord
