Maybe I'm too stupid to use the forum search function, but I couldn't discover a thread for this anthology, so I'll make one. Yearning for more Alien stories, I figured it was a good way to spend ten bucks (I'm listening to it on Audible). I'm dying to hear your thoughts on it.
What follows are my two cents for each story. As I'm still progressing through the collection, I'll post them bit by bit.

Chance Encounter:
A rather strange way to open this anthology which is supposed to be about the Colonial Marines ... and features no real Colonial Marines. I liked the depiction of the planet, and how the Aliens were more or less part of the ecosystem as apex predators (I always wanted to say "apex predator"...). I was a little confused about how some things were written when they returned to the Floater corpse. All in all, nice story, with a nice rounded-off ending, if a little predictable, but fitting the format like a glove. Now let's see some Colonial Marines! (We get plenty of Colonial Marines in the following stories, but something else is missing, of which I still don't quite know what to make of it. But more on that later)
