Aside from some shoddy animation work (which I assume would have improved), this looks bloody awesome.
I assume if it had of been released, it was for the PS2, Xbox and gamecube?
It says 2007 so it's either the prototype or a very early build.

Proxy. Hud is one of the last things to be added. So they would have came up with smthing adequate.
Beside, that this movie doesn´t make me hype, I still mourn the fact, that we don´t get a RPG. :-[

The only thing I didn't like, that we've seen, are some of the renders of the actual in game Aliens, which IMO look god awful.

HAD Potential.. shame its as dead as Elvis... looks like my kind of game, i love RPGS and i love Aliens, imho i would have rather had this than A:CM but thats just me.

Only if the gameplay would be faster :D but its quite ok. Could be dark and scary.
The gameplay reminds me of Mass Effect, and the game looked great too.

Yeah that's the first thing that came to mind when they started shooting. It looks like it plays very similar to Mass Effect and that's what I was hoping for when I first heard about the Alien RPG. It's a shame that they canceled this; like everybody else said, it had loads of potential.
That looked like it could have been a very good game. It's a shame.
Well I hope someone brings the project back to life, if AVP3 does well then the chances of this happeing again might be hopeful. I think this game would have been like Fallout 3 but in space.

Could another developer or publisher actually resurect the RPG? The game was in development for a long time... or maybe Obsidian could just finish it... Is there an actuall possibilty? Has that been done before? You know all of us would buy it.
Doesn't look that good to me. I don't think the Aliens concept gives you enough variety to make a typically 30 to 60 hour RPG experience worthwhile. I suspect SEGA cancelled it since compared to Colonial Marines an AvP this game was the obvious runt of the litter. Maybe they didn't have the budget for three.

It can't be resurrected by other studio because of the game engine. I believe those are the first images of the Onyx engine as well which is exclusive to them. There's always a chance of course, but it's very, very unlikely.
As everyone already mentioned, it is a damn shame this was cancelled. It seems to be like Dead Space to me, but if they actually went through with it, then it probably would have been a lot deeper.
As for me, I'm going to watch this vid until it disappears. :'(

I fail to see how it had any real RPG elements... Just looked like some unpolished shooter to me...
I never really saw how they could turn something like Aliens into an RPG... Maybe if the had a plot similar to Alien and had a lot of great character building and really got you into the characters then it could have worked... But I don't know. Seeing this doesn't particularly make me too sad. I LOVE RPG's, but I don't think Aliens would have worked that well.

I know... But I just can't see what people are getting excited about. Sure, it still had the POTENTIAL to be good. But we never saw anything to really back that up.
It has aliens in it, it's a good enough reason to get excited. And no preds inside it :P

Yeah we need an ALIENS game. I like AVP games but i'm hoping that in the future, will have a ALIENS game. NO PREDS ALLOWED.
