They mentioned Coco being an American Dingo, I think the proper term is "Carolina Dog", the name for the type of dog raised by Native Americans:

They are the same thing.  Someone gave them the name Carolina Dog in the 70s when they were "discovered" in the swamps of South Carolina, but they've been all over the US.
