Really good start to the third season. It can't help but feel there's a holocaust overtone here. What not with New Caprica representing a ghetto and the Cylons representing the Nazis, and then of course there's the secret police which seems like an allegory to the Gestapo. Also Saul's decision to use suicide bombers to accomplish his goals really speaks volumes of his morality. Not too far off from the Cylons I feel.

And Katee Sackhoff looks really good with long hair.

Really good start to the third season. It can't help but feel there's a holocaust overtone here. What not with New Caprica representing a ghetto and the Cylons representing the Nazis, and then of course there's the secret police which seems like an allegory to the Gestapo.

That imagery is definitely in there with the Cylons marching in through the streets in the Season 2 finale. I personally see it more as an allegory for the US occupation in Iraq, what with the interference of the establishment, policing raids under cover of night, rooting out insurrectionists with unfair consequences, all that jazz, and capturing anybody with a voice who may propose a threat. It was also quite topical at the time of it's release.

Great article from what I've read without being spoiled.
And I have to agree with them on the point that when we see characters die or characters in distress it feels more real, because the environments are familiar to us. But on the opposite side of the coin I felt absolute joy when Kara and Anders reunited with each other.
