Yeah, I think leaving the mystery unsolved could have worked if it was a standalone, one and done film that was making a point with that. But Twin Peaks isn't that.

And Wise is incredible in the episodes and even moreso in the movie from what I remember. In fact I remember thinking the deleted scene with the Palmers having a nice, happy dinner together should have been left in as it would have added to the tragedy to see them so happy and normal for once.
