Unfortunately I must inform you all that screenwriter, Dan O’Bannon, the man behind the original draft of Alien has passed away at age 63. Harry from Aint It Cool News was the one to reveal the sad news.
“Well, David called to tell me Dan O’Bannon had just passed away. Dan had been in the hospital this past week fighting to hang on, but lost the battle not too long ago – and David wanted to alert the world of the passing of one of Geek’s great creators.”
On behalf of the staff and community of AvPGalaxy, we can only wish Dan O’Bannon’s friends and family the best of luck. I’d thank to thank Coming Soon, Chris Archer, Steve and the many others for taking the time to send us an email.

He was cranky. He was snarky. He was fiery and unapologetic. Fans of his wouldn’t have it any other way. Whenever you hear him talk, he doesn’t sugarcoat what he thinks, and it made him a joy to listen to. The man, all his life a candid sparkplug, will be greatly missed.
RIP Dan. You will be missed! I think I'm gonna watch Alien soon, too. Just for him. :)

R.I.P. Dan O'Bannon. he will be missed. he did such a great job in writing the screenplay of Alien, Total Recall and when he directed Return of the Living Dead. I hope when the new Alien movie is released directed by Ridley Scott they should dedicated it to Dan O'Bannon!
