I'm partway through Downpour now (and I've picked up SH4 as well).

It's kind of good. Getting stuck on invisible walls, and having to slog through crappy fights is annoying. The slowdown in saving and texture streaming is also really annoying.
I like the rest of it, mostly. I'm finding it weird in that normally I'd I die I'll load up my save immediately. In Downpour I just turn it off and come back to it later.

So Konami is apparently working on pitches for 2 new Silent Hill games. They're looking into one game as a soft-reboot for the franchise and the other will be and episodic entry that apparently plays similar to Until Dawn.

Did anyone play Silent Hill The Room? Came out on Xbox and PS2 was kind of trippy. I remember u were stuck inside your apartment, then you would go in to some dream like state and end up on some random level like a train station, hospital, lighthouse ect. Then you would wake back up in your apartment with strange stuff happening around you, but you couldn't leave your apartment.  Thought it was a clever idea for a different type of silent hill game. I remember the enemies were kind of naff like.

I started that one. It's the last of the series I'm yet to finish (apart from book of shadows it whatever the Vita one is). Should get round to finishing it at some point!

SH 4 is a great experience. I don't think the game was initially planned to be in the Silent Hill universe, only later lumped into it by Konami. The game also has some of the worst escort missions in video game history, which are made even worse when you need to make sure the AI doesn't take too much damage in order to get certain endings. But the game overall is really interesting regardless.

Is the last actually good Silent Hill game, and it barely has anything to do with the franchise.
Is pretty uneven in terms of quality, you can tell it was rushed because you have to play the first half of the game twice and then it ends, but it has a lot of great stuff in it.

I'd like another crack at a remastered collection, preferably one that has the right voices and doesn't unnecessarily change details

And actually remasters 4. What I'd really like is an SH1 remake on the level of the RE ones. Less so RE3make, but that one was still enjoyable enough.

At least it got a GOG port.

Very excited for all of this. Except for Ascension, don't really care about multiplayer.

Somehow had no idea about the livestream, and was losing my mind when I found out about all these announcements all at once!

Very very excited for all of this! Silent Hill fans can finally get a meal after how good Resident Evil fans have been (deservedly) eating for a while!
