epic!!!
Those were the scenes I thought they were going to show. I bet we see a bit of them during the ALIEN Day screening.
Bummer about the deaths reveal, ill be skipping the spoilers this time.

To be fair, we kind of
Spoiler
knew that character was doomed in someway. The trailer showed both the hugger attacking her and its being removed from her face. So long as its not done like it was with Lope and its proper life-cycle duration then that is atleast something, even if it did spoil the fate of that character
Any leaked footage?
Yeah, I'm gonna pass on reading this I think.

The footage sounds gruesome and intense. Again, there are spoilers so beware.
Yeah I'm done with spoilers also, didn't mind the tid bits that came out, but I dont need the deaths or action pieces spoiled 8)

Interesting set pieces and apparently gruesome practical effects work. Sounds good to me. Damn, I'm excited. 😊
I'm calling it now...best Alien film ever made. A bold statement to be sure, but it's Friday, the weekend is upon us and I'm in that headspace. 😎
All sounds very promising. I just hope we're not sticking to the accelerated growth cycle and the chestbursters emerging five minutes after implantation.
With the cast not being overly large, I am also worried we may get only one or two xenomorph kills. I know the first film was like this, but back then it was all fresh. We know what to expect now.
But the descriptions do sound fantastic. And the comments about the practical effects are wonderful.
Sounds really good so far. Those spoilers we kinda knew already.
Sounds very slightly like Saw
I think and believe Fede is the right guy for this as he has a love for the story, but understands how to use practical effects and how to film them. I'm looking forward to seeing this film.
We already gathered that look of the Alien had the translucent dome and faint glimpse of the skull underneath from the end of the teaser that was released, you get glimpse of the skull on another angle from this banner poster.
Also it is said that
Spoiler
the Romulus crew shot numerous facehuggers, so not much worry about acid blood damaging the station apparently ? Or maybe they end up in water and that negates the acid blood or something.
I'm staying away from the detailed scene descriptions, but is there any word on what the adult Alien looked like? Beyond what we learned from the trailer... Any biomechanical elements? I'm just really looking forward to getting away from the generic sinew look we've had since Resurrection.

sounds great and pure terror!
So... them looking like that then, not just a coincidence.

I had the impression that it wasn't clear where they were shooting the facehuggers, but re-reading it, it's clear they are still in water.
Glad to see on the report finally acknowledging the effects for the trilogy including Alien³ since its always just aLiEn oR aLiEnS lol! Alien³ always kicked to the curb.

By showing these scenes does it take away from the movie? As in they were the highlights of the film or are there better surprises. I always get worried cause people show their best hand early these days
These moments are close to the beginning of the film and are only a taste of way more chaos that follows. Basically the inciting incidents. I don't feel like they take away, but I'd say go in as blind as possible if you want to have more fun and have no idea what to expect.

Hey Mike. Left you a message if you have room in your inbox.
Agreed but I would say even if someone didn't see or read about the cinemacon footage, the trailer made it so most will know which character may or may not be dooomed.

That's good to hear. I unfortunately will not be going in blind, I have to read spoilers but don't care as long as it's executed properly. But damn that makes me excited if those scenes are considered minor to what awaits
I have been keeping an eye out because I at least want to make sure that if I am going to pay for a ticket for this movie, that its not going to leave a bad taste like Covenant did.
All the films have been worth the cost of a ticket imo, even the ones I don't love like Prometheus and Ressurection.
But not AvPR, it's not with the price of admission.
Also, the idea of
Spoiler
the synthetic malfunctionning during a tense scene is really good.
Never seen before in an Alien movie yet.

Agreed with the first part. AvPR was more worth the ticket price than AvP though.
(Neither were great value)

Haha I agree, I had a bit more silly fun with AVPR.
I know some people enjoy AvPR, but for me personally it's just dire. I watched at the theater and one time since then. I don't plan to ever watch it a third time.
AvP I actually enjoy for what it is. A silly adventure movie with some nice effects work. Unfortunatly I get no joy or entertainment from the sequel.
Hot take: I think Ressurection is more satisfying to watch than Prometheus.

Just looking at Wolf do his stupid things satisfied me more than anything in AVP to be honest.
Nothing wolf did was satisfying beyond Ian Whites performance.
Let's keep this forum clear of any AVP talk. Those films will not compare to Romulus and hopefully we never get any more movies like those two or the Predator
So any theories on why the Renaissance station is just seemingly abandoned by the company? Besides the obvious of everyone being killed, are company agents on their way to secure it ala Alien 3? Or is the implication it has been abandoned for a significant time? If so, why has it seemingly been left with all those valuable specimens onboard?
Yeah I'm interested in that too. Also how many people were aboard the station before the everything went to pot? It seems like a huge station, seems like it could support a few hundred personel... maybe.
A station that size seems like it would be difficult for the company to not realize there has been a problem.
I think we're going to see it when it was active, considering what we saw with the extra shots in the instagram version of the trailer, when
Spoiler
we see people in hazmat suit carrying something that is probably Big Chap for experimentation.

i suspect the Big Chap scene is an opening five min flashback, then the movie jumps ahead 20 years to our colony planet, by which time the station is already dead.

Maybe we get a few shots of the operating station in the intro then ? But who (besides Mike) knows ? We'll see.

It is a lot of fun. It took me years to get over my initial hatred of that film (I left the theater crushed after watching it on opening night). I've greatly enjoyed all of the films in the franchise for the most part.
Just a theory, but it would make sense for Weyland to a tail ship behind the Nostromo. In theory, the crew would be dead, Ash the caretaker and only survivor would be waiting for the science/military to come and intercept to acquire the organism. Would not make sense to have the Nostromo go all the way to earth.
In that case why even send the Nostromo when you have a ship with a science/military team ready to go?
I like to think the company didn't know about the alien yet and it was all just theoretical, so they sent some barrel scrubbers to check it out because they themselves didn't even know if they'd find something
Then we'll finally have it... consensus
I do wonder where this space station is situated. They would have to be close to last known location of the Nostromo. The company knows that the alien was there on LV426, at least the ship's continuous beacon going off. Curious how Fede will tie all this together.

We might be looking too much into it, I wouldn't be surprised if explanations are thin.

Regardless I think it's safe to say the station will be destroyed by the end of the film.
That would be the safest thing to do regarding the lore.

The video/post I quoted from a different thread.
Just my thoughts imagination here going:
Kids huddle together in the local colony bar. Talking of how they want to get off the planet and get an actual life.
One of the kids says he knows of an abandon space station where they can go and get the things they need.
Older man in the corner, smoking and drinking, been around a while overhears them and replies,
"The place is dead. Everyone dead they say. Story is they found a demon in space and brought it back to that cursed station. Ye best stay away from it."
Kids look oddly at him and go back to planning.
Anyways...lol
Now that you mention it, I don't remember reading anything about how they find the Renaissance station.
I would assume the Space Station is within traveling distance and likely the colony can pick up transmissions from if it is within range. It's been there for sometime as the story takes place 20 years after Alien. Meaning, they must of gotten a hold Big Chap years and years earlier.
But if that's the case, wouldn't someone already tried to go there before them ?
This is definitely one of those "let's just wait to see the film" issues.
Yeah maybe there will be a hint of someone who already went to the station, they never came back etc.
