Figured we might as well get a thread going for this so we can track news and pictures and etc. NECA has confirmed that they will be producing the figures for the film.
Looks like they maybe using the release to bring out the cancelled Shaw figure from the Prometheus line: https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status/771510862007918592
That would be pretty cool if they could piggy-back the Shaw figure on the Covenant line.
Dang it Hicks...I came in here hoping for pics!
Not yet. Sorry.

I wouldn't put it past them. It would be cool if they did that. I hope they have a tight wrap on this stuff, unlike some of the other movie tie-in merch that comes out before the movie and spoils it.
Latest episode of the Erik Nagel show has an interview with Randy Falk. He basically says don't expect to see Covenant stuff until Covenant is happening.

He also mentions they're doing The Predator (as expected) but I can't remember if we have a thread for that or not so going to have to check that out.
Yeah, they'll release the 3 previously announced Lost Wave 'PROMETHEUS' figures to dovetail on the strength of their upcoming 'ALIEN: Covenant' range. The question for me is: will they be released at the same time, or will there be a delay between the releases?
I'm also wondering what figures will be in the 'A:C' range. Surely, the new Big Chap will be foremost in this new Series. I'm guessing NECA will be spanning multiple series based on this movie.
So, maybe we'll get the Big Chap, Neomorph and David as a first series for the release? Looking forward to seeing what accessories will be present with these items.
What's the bet NECA will eventually release a 1:1 Neomorph figure mounted on a display stand as we have seen in leaked photos of David's lab?

I'm glad they'll be releasing these around the time the movie comes out. Hopefully they'll sell better than the Prometheus figures did.
So Neca takes seriously any risk of spoiler, isn´t? Anyway, let´s wait until may.

The bodyknocker is being referenced as a new creature... not machinery. Head/body-knocker must be the neomorphs.
edit: oh hell, I forgot knockers are probably bobble-head dolls.
Yep. The body/head knockers are NECA's lines of bobble-toys.
Moved and merged with existing NECA Covenant thread.
Although given that several of the Alien creatures have names like "Face Hugger" and "Chest Burster", "Head Knocker" doesn't sound all that out of place as an actual, official name.

Having seen now what the new Xeno looks like. I cannot wait to see what Nee produce and have it on my shelf. Just hope we get a Resurrection Xeno too.
^^ I'm dying to see the Neomorph figure, especially since the trailers seem to be purposely not showing its face. It should be cool to see what it winds up looking like. Do you think it will have a Deacon-like second jaw?

I love the design for resurrection but only for that movie. It has a reason for being that way. I hate how they were regurgitated for the AVP movies.

To be entirely fair, that was done due to budget constraints.
Neca are bringing out a Resurrection series of figures (figgers or fig-yours?! ??? ;D ) this year, which will include Ripley 8 and the alien design from the film. They have also hinted at a Newborn figure as well though I don't think that one has been confirmed just yet. With regards to the Neomorph and the inner jaw query, one of the set reports mentioned seeing a yellowy, white alien creature on set with a mouth like an anus where a small proboscis would jut out from. I'm assuming this is the Neomorph they seen. The set report which mentioned this was from 'Comingsoon', here's the quote - "In the creature department, we also see a newer version of the Deacon introduced at the end of Prometheus. He still has a pointy head, but the mouth is more of a butthole shape/texture. The anus was definitely referenced, and a beak-like thing juts out from it. It is truly disgusting."

I can dig it.
Glad to see the shoulder blades back, Whats up with that though? It clearly lacks them in the footage we seen.
Also, I can live with the dorsal tubes; They have clearly been placed further down the torso to give the alien a wider range of head movements.
Curious about how it would look with them pointing down instead, Looks pretty cool in my head.
Also, the hands are great, f**k those flippers we've seen the last decades.

Could be the picture but something looks off about that alien figure. Maybe its the body proportions, just didn't like it.
That figure does not have the grasshopper legs. Although I actually prefer this design.
It does appear to look slightly different. Perhaps we need to see more on screen first to see the similarities.
I like it though.
Also, I cant see the hollowed out tendon at te rear of the heal.

Just like a pig.
The alien looks goofy. No proportion at all, small head, huge hands (hands which look nothing like the workshop sculpts of this new design). Notice there aren't details like the exposed 'achilles tendons' on the feet you can see in the trailer.
P.s I don't collect figures, I used to collect and airbrush the old Halcyon kits as a kid though.

Sadly I have to quote that one to one about the NECA Covenant creature. Quite bad, but maybe a WIP prototype shown.
And as well I have to quote the Halcyon kits. Have them all and still see them as the best made modelkits in this franchise, even though they are injection plastic ones.
the alien looks great. Is the other supposed to be daniels? looks more like vasquez. looking forward to the neo designs
For the Halcyon kits, a good work over with a file to get rid of the molding artefacts and some epoxy resin for the gaps. Seamless. Although I get I'm preaching to the choir here. I've never been so obsessed with the colour green when it came to the Dropship and the APC 'Khaki Green' will never leave my mind.
The alien warrior was just perfect in scale. You could even use a needle and scrape out definition to grooves so when the paint was applied detail would still pop out.
I think my enthusiasm for the series was forged here, by constantly rewinding tapes of the films making sure weathering and colour was right. You know what though, I have no idea where the hell they've gone. I suspect they were given to a local hopsice as toys by my parents after I left as they were in the garage last I recall. When I asked my mom about where all the Star Wars toys (mostly boxed) she said probably a jumble sale.
Keep yer boxes kids!

I'm starting to think the same. If I remember correctly it was the xenomorph that was supposed to be under lock and key until release day, but now it's the neomorph that is being hidden. That and the design of the xeno figure looks...well, not much like the creature we're seeing in the trailers. Of course we haven't gotten great looks at it or the toy yet, it just seems awkward looking.
When I saw the picture I just thought it was a slightly modded big chap to go with the New Vasquez. The awkward pose doesn't do it any favours either.
Wonder if the studio bringing the movie forward several months has has any effect?
What an AWFUL design. The tail is to long, the head isn't phallic enough, the pipes are crooked, the teeth are too sharp, the inner jaw isn't the right color, it looks to much like a crocodile, the right knee isn't aligned properly with the proper flow of the left elbow, it talks in the theater, it supports Anne Coulter's right to speak at Berkley, it doesn't have an entire engine block sticking out of its butt, it doesn't egg morph, it thinks the predalien should have mandibles, it's chin is to square, it's right hand is 2/10's of a docklemeter wider than the left hand, it thinks Predator 2 "is fine I guess", it has to many teeth, it has to few fingers, its pinky toes are bent weirdly inward. Most of all though, it bears absolutely no resemblance to the Big Chap from the original movie.
I miss Giger.
That Alien looks like it's about to attempt the dreaded "Triple Indy". ;D

I have to agree... It looks way to chunky compared to the gangly one in the film. Plus it seems like a rehashed parts again (a NECA STAPLE)... mainly the head and doesn't look like it poses very well either. siiigh.
Actually, there is a shot of the Alien suit in another thread from a HBO Preview and this figure is quite accurate. It does have those shoulders.

That comic rules! As a big fan of Moebius and that heavy metal background that permeates the original film, I am very pleased.
Always preferred the comic book depiction of the creature (and the ramped up graphic violence that surrounds it) as opposed to it's cinematic counterpart. Bigger, meaner and more terrifying.
I like the increase in size - the way it looms over Brett and later Dallas - or how one huge hand (instead of two) wraps around Parker's head before delivering the blow that blasts half his head away (shotgun-style) rather than just punching a hole in his skull. My favourite comic book of all time!
I have the original one. I see they've Ave rereleasd it with 's new cover.
Hi. I don't mind the grasshopper proportions. I'm more bothered by the proportions of it's face. It's kinda cartonish.

I know right? The left arm has two and a half more tendons than the right, and the circumference of the right eye socket is a quarter of a millimeter bigger than the left, and etc. etc...
Seriously. Be happy they're being released. It's a joyous occasion. It's fine. It's an Alien. I like how they added blue veins to this and the minimate/vinimate.

I think I'll pass on the new troll-face Alien.
I mean, to each his own but historically, most xenomorph toys or movie incarnations have been negatively compared to Big Chap or Cameron's Warrior.
Personally, the more distance that can be put from those, the better. If they just recycled the same old design it would make a cool homage for about 2 seconds before it would be thought of as lazy and unoriginal.
The beauty of the Alien, and what separates it from everything from Jaws to Jason Voorhees is that it evolves so you never know exactly what form it will take next.
I just wish some fans kept more of an open mind and evolved with it. But again, respect to the traditionalists out there. Everybody's got a preference.
It's not that bad.
The troll face really cracks me up though. I don't know why they would tweet a promo pic with it looking like that.

Kotobukiya has the best sculpts of the alien creature, ever.

NECA makes cheap toys that more often than not break as soon as you take them out of the box. Their quality control is horrible.
And every once in a while they put out really poorly sculpted toys like the Covenant Xeno (and their Shin-Godzilla figure lol).
I dont think it's been said..
but the Covenant Xeno that NECA is putting out is clearly
based on an early design of the creature,
It's the one they seem to have used for the animatronic. (There's a pic of the animatronic out there.)
Ridley seems to have changed his mind about the design of the creature's shoulders
and seems to have gone with a fully cgi creation.
NECA is saying that their toy is "screen accurate".
Not anymore.
That's a very nice sculpt. It even captures the wrinkles in the original suit.
Kotobukiya still has the Alien license.. hope they do something with the Covenant Xeno.

I've bought three City Hunter Predator's that were all broken. The first one's arm wouldn't stay on. The second one's computer lid was broken. The same with the third with an added bonus of a broken staff and they didn't remove enough of the plastic on the disk.
Bought 3 figures from them. All were broken.
:/
This is way too common.
I have 3 figures and i am lucky enough that not one has been broken. Lol you watch now. Ultinate jungle hunter (my next Neca purchase) will be broken when he turns up.
Damn. It's so ironic because the details of the sculpts are so good yet they sound like they fall apart easily.
I would take sturdiness over detail any day if I was planning on taking them out of the box.
I've also read on here that the NECA creature figures seem to break more often than the human ones. Have you experienced that?
I was going to take back the Ultimate City Hunter, but I fixed it. I had to glue the staff and cut away the plastic. For display purposes it works. My Jungle Hunter was fine. No issues at all with that one.
The figures look great. The accessories are always interesting and add to the figure. I'm really careful with them for fear of them breaking.

I hate taking NECA figures out of their packaging... once removed, the packaging is destroyed. Gah... It's not like you can just slip a knife to break a small length of sticky tape and then easily open the package.

Alien Runner would love to buy these toys for his 5 year old nephews.
Yup. Sounds appropriate to me.
Not only does 'ALIEN' have a long history of delivering toys based on R-rated movies deemed suitable for children of your nephew's age group; but the first film actually started this trend all the way back in 1979.

Woozy Moo has the Covenant Figures up for pre-order. I'll probably just pick up the neomorph.
https://www.woozymoo.com/collections/neca (https://www.woozymoo.com/collections/neca)
I keep my figures in the box so I haven't experienced any figures falling apart. I wouldn't doubt it though.
Personally I'm gonna wait until we see more product photos.
I'm wondering if they put more effort into the neomorph than they did with the regular xeno? I don't hate the other figure, but it's got problems.

I open all of mine and issues are RARE.
This is mainly people jumping on the hate bandwagon.
I gotta agree with Sabres. I've only encountered 1 NECA figure with any real QA issues (Lower jaw permanently closed on my translucent Alien figure.). Design decisions aside, the rest have been fine for what the company was out to achieve.
Considering the price point and range of figures NECA make, They're pretty solid. For what amounts to glorified toys, they make good stuff overall.
(Although my Stompy figure has rickets now due to the heat of last Summer bending his legs - but I bet that's probably solved with a nice hot bath and a quick shove into the freezer for 15 minutes.)
-Windebieste.
Simply because some have no issues with their opened figures doesn't mean that's the case for everyone. Retailers like ToyWiz even have a disclaimer:
"Due to the fragile nature of NECA Collectibles we cannot accept returns on opened product. We inspect each figure before sending it out, but figures can be damaged in transit. Please make sure to inspect your figure for damages BEFORE opening it."
A company wouldn't have that disclaimer unless they were previously getting too many returns to deal with.
Calling NECA out for widely reported quality control and breakage issues doesn't automatically make someone a hater. Most people who are criticizing the issues ultimately just want NECA to have solid products, which shouldn't be too much to ask of any company.
Is it possible that people are just hating for no reason? It's certainly possible, but I doubt it. ToyWiz has a disclaimer about NECA's figures. I've seen people on Instagram and Twitter reporting issues. Someone is on a wait list for a new head.
I went through three Ultimate City Hunter's that were broken. I bought one Young Blood that had a split wrist. I bought an Elder Predator that has a leg issue. I have DC, Marvel, and Star Wars figures and I've never ran into the amount of issues that I have had with NECA. I want to keep collecting NECA figures, especially the Alien and Predator lines. They look great, but they have some serious QA issues that need to be dealt with.

I agree here..out of my 2 Aliens, 17 Predators and 23 marines I've only had 3 Aliens with QC issues. Those 3 are two of my first brown warriors and Grid from the AVP line. They all had issues with their legs not staying together.
One average my experience with NECA is nothing but good/positive, but I have seen their QC issues (paint wise) with their new Hicks/Hudson two pack. To me it does seem like they dropped the ball there, luckily the two packs I had bought had none of these paint issues.
I wonder what the other xeno is that NECA has made? Is it the same one, but only damaged?

Yep. Got it. https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status/864240133511446529 :)
Cant wait for this Xeno
I almost think it should be cancelled and reworked, As it looks quite different from the current alien shown.
Seems like it's based on the practical stand-in suit on set. Not representing the final design it seems.
I asked Randy about this and he confirmed that the sculpts are based solely on the practical suits.
Have to feel a bit sorry for NECA along with the physical prop builders. A lot of work done and it's painted over by CGI, sculpts are out of date etc. A reverse of Prometheus where CGI Fifield was replaced by the duller physical version for some reason....
NECA also had it sprung on them late in the day as well that the release date had moved.

While I agree to a point, it's still a pretty neat sculpt and I don't really have a problem buying it.
Terminator Salvation had some similar stuff happen with its merchandise - the Moto-Terminator motorcycles got redesigned partway through production so the toy version that got released ended up not looking like the on-screen version.
Just a heads up, Neca will be revealing their full lineup of Covenant figures today. 8)
Any idea what sort of time ?
That's all the info that was provided in the recent tweet.

Thanks for the heads-up. Will keep an eye out. Really keen to see their Neomorph figure. Wonder if they're doing 2 heads with a single body?

About 5 hours behind uk time. I'm guessing by roughly around 1400 hours uk time we'll have the reveal.

Definitely get the big guy. Not sure about the Neomorph to be honest. The Toddler version looks rather dorky, nothing to do with the figure, just the creature design. Looks like's he wants to play a piano :D
I know it's white in the film but is it me, or do the Neo's just look unpainted?

honest to god I lost my shit laughing when I saw the neomorph  I don't know what it is but it just looks funny
I might get him, and I'll definitely grab the xeno and the creature pack.
I want the different eggs for my hive, something I always liked about the original PROM script was the different face huggers, between these eggs and the kenner line I'll have plenty of variety
Xeno is a must for me and i think i may get the Neo
That xeno is pretty awesome! I'm looking forward to having that and the Neomorph. Hope they both looks good in the film.
already preordered off of BBT, would trather order them all off of amazon but hey arent there yet
The inside of the egg looks NOTHING like it does in the film.
The Neomorph doesn't look like that in the film either. It's much more soft in appearance...more flesh-like. The jaws don't really look like that either. What were the people at NECA looking at when they sculpted these anyway? A concept design? At no time in the film does EITHER Neomorph have that jagged, lumpy appearance. I'll pass...

That's exactly how the creature looked in both test screenings that I saw. I don't think any of this was NECA's fault. It was redone in post.
As I stated earlier, Neca confirmed that they only had access to the practical suits when sculpting these.
That's why the Neomorph and Xeno look different than what was on screen.
Not Neca's fault.
Well, they are the company releasing them...
Would love a 1:1 scale articulated bloodied Neomorph birthling figure.

No one is saying it's NECA's fault that the designs were changed, although I'd hope they'll learn from this experience and perhaps wait until the studio actually confirms the official final designs before committing resources to making sculpts and molds.
We may know the truth behind the design process because we're more dedicated fans, but it's NECA that's going to have egg on their face when John Q Public sees the figures on the pegs at Toys R Us and says "Wtf, they didn't look like this in the movie???"
Edit-- especially when BBTS's product listing (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=NEC12953&mode=retail) literally says "this screen accurate version". If that's BBTS just embellishing the product listing, that makes NECA look bad. If that's actually quoted verbatim from NECA's own product description, then
that is NECA's fault.
Edit again-- it's quoted from NECA themselves (http://necaonline.com/2017/05/massive-photo-gallery-alien-covenant-products-revealed/). The designs being changed isn't something you can blame NECA for, but false advertising sure is. :P
Though to be fair, NECA was caught completely off-guard by the release date change, so changes to reflect the CGI paint-over were probably impossible.
Sure, but continuing to use the phrase "screen accurate" in their marketing is pretty disingenuous.
They can always just slap a nice round little 'Concept Figure' sticker on the box.

In the one publicity photo were its attacking daniels it does have a rough skin texture and a bumpier head.
After seeing the movie last night, the Neomorphs do look like the Neca figures in several scenes, it's just hard to tell since they move so fast. I think most people are referring to the scene with David and the Neomorph where it's face was completely relaxed and having almost no texture at all. But during the fight scenes they do look like the figures.
Pic of the practical suit head. This is what Neca had available to sculpt their figure and why it looks different than the movie version.
I think I'll pick these up once they show up on NECA's eBay store.
I ordered the Neomorph and the Creature set because I have no self control. Lookat all those cute sons though???
The actual alien/xenomorph one still looks like total trash to me. So disappointing... Hopefully other companies make a better looking collectible of him that I can snatch up.

I feel ya... Human characters usually end up as shelf warmers though. I remember NECA saying saying that even popular human character figures would sit around... plus there's always the issue of getting the rights to individual actors likeliness.

Yeah, I still see "Alien3 Ripley" and "Amanda Ripley" figures warming the pegs to this day. Bishop figures lingered on shelves for a really long time, which is a shame because Bishop is awesome and the figure's likeness is fantastic and everyone and their mother should own a Lance Henriksen action figure.

Which human figures are you looking forward to coming out first?
Mine are Tennessee, Ledward and Upworth.
Have they confirmed human figures?
I heard that they confirmed they will not be doing human figures. Kinda sucks because I really wanted some colonist fodder for my hive. Walter doesn't technically count as human though
No human figures?! Ohh that's bad news. Especially with all the cool weapons and I liked the gear better than the blue tights from Prometheus.
I feel ya... Human characters usually end up as shelf warmers though. I remember NECA saying saying that even popular human character figures would sit around... plus there's always the issue of getting the rights to individual actors likeliness.
I see what they mean as I frequent toy stores often and yeah, tons of human figures.
YEAH! I took personal offense to there being so many Bishop figures being neglected. I was so excited for it's release and couldn't get my hands on it fast enough!
But anyway... human figures mostly tend to be peg warmers.
I saw a lot of A3 Ripleys warming the shelves. All of the marines that have been released have sold out super fast in comparison though. The only place I see those is my local comic store, but they do order a lot at one time.

I'd be cool with Daniels or Walter. David, of course, would be awesome as well. Maybe include some of the ghastly bits from his menagerie as accessories.
This would be cool to have along a David figure.

I want a bigger scale baby protomorph. I also want baby protomorph plushie and neomorph plushie.
A 1:1 scale birthling Neomorph would be sweet.

Can we all tell NECA to make a baby protomorph plushy in Alien: Covenant? I srsly want one. Neomorph plushy too. :3

Not NECA, but still cute as hell. Made by "phunny" who has done the same mini, stylized alien plushies from before.
Waiting for it to become available for preorder.
It is cool, huh. We were discussing this neat little tyke over here (http://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=57741.0), if you're interested.

its on our list of things to do this summer ;)
we want to sculpt some jarred fetal critters and the neomorph certainly fits the bill.
I am looking forward to the Protomorph and Neomorph figures - especially the Neomorph (I am planning to get one of the spares and convert into a Yautja spawned Neomorph). And the accessory pack looks SWEEEEEEEET!
Shame there's not going to be any human characters made.
Ya. It's too bad it looks like there'll be no humans for this range. Pity, really. Aside from some of the obvious characters like Tennessee, Daniels and David in a hoodie, I'd love to see a Lope figure.
I mean, seriously. Just think of the accessories for Lope... The modifed F90 rifle and a facehugger! Too awesome. lol
-Windebieste.
The covenant figures are now available online at necas ebay and amazon stores
Those pre-orders should be heading out, then. My wallet weeps.
I've already been charged by BBTS for my Vickers figure.
I'm (im)patiently waiting for the Covenant figures to hit my comic shop. I really want butt-hole mouth and the creature pack.
Look what just arrived!!! I'll open them in a bit.

f**k
Nice! Hopefully can get that Neomorph in a week.
I just Pre-ordered my Neomorph and creature pack last night on BBTS. I plan on swinging back around for the Xenomorph ( or Protomorph if you will) I can honestly saw I have to a spot open for the Neomorph next to the Deacon in my collection when the Neomorph comes in the mail! :D
They look great in the pic!
the alien store just sent me 2x covenant xeno and 2x covenant neo
i have 2 more of each coming on wednesday!
i ordered the ones i got today as a separate set so i wouldnt have to wait
i ordered the consolidated pack with vasquez that said it would wait until series 11 came out, and all ship together to save me shipping
it didnt save me any shipping it simply delayed me getting the stuff that is already out...them sending it without series 11 makes up...a little
They might actually show up on my side of the pond in the next 2 months. lol I definitely want the Alien but I'm decided on the Neomorph yet.
Pick up the Neomorph before it becomes hard to find and way too expensive to get, like has happened with the Deacon.
I love them both but the Xeno is beautiful. I want to get a second one so I can have one on all four and one standing up. Couldn't decide between the poses so might as well have two. Snapped these two photos just now:

Yeah the alien figure looks great
Where do you guys outside the US buy these things from? Shipping is so expensive...
In Australia, it depends on price and what's being stocked by online retailers in the country. Lately, I've been buying stuff from Popcultcha (https://www.popcultcha.com.au/)in Geelong. They've been around for a long time now, since last Century from what I can work out. Purchases over $100 are free postage from their local warehouse. It usually takes a while for stock to arrive from overseas but they can sometimes very very swift. For example, the NECA Covenant stuff is still only pre-order on their site but the Funko POP! line has been readily available from them for well over a week.
-Windebieste.
For the UK, Forbidden Planet and just conventions for me.

It is a wicked lookin' Alien. Shooting through the grate like that is nice.
That one shot from the movie when it enters the terraforming bay and is largely obscured by equipment but you can still determine the form and upright stance is absolutely astonishing. One of the best shots of any Alien in any of the movies.
-Windebieste.
Looks very nice. Good detail on muscles and tendons. How's the usual availability on these things? I'm waiting for them to come a store closer to me so I don't have to pay 30 $ in import and shipping, but I don't want to miss out.
Also, I've only seen Xenos and Neos in those staged pictures, isn't there any love for the creature pack?
Awesome shots of the alien figure there Sabres21768! Nice!

I wasn't really sold on the new Alien design for COVENANT but your images bring out it's best qualities. As another poster already noted, the Neomorph's mouth does look uncomfortably like that of a butt hole.

Actually looks pretty nice in that picture. I'm not sure on this figure. Looking forward to having one in my hands to decide though. None in my local FP as of yet.
Amazed by the detail on the figure. Hope my is at home when I get off work.
If I had to say anything was even slightly bad about the figure... maybe just that the balljoint on the head is really tight for me and tricky to swap heads. Or just that I thought the figure would be taller/bigger? Still don't care at all and happy with it for sure.
Got mine today, and the Neomorph's left arm snapped immediately after I opened it. :'(
These guys out in stores now?

Still no sign of the Xenomorph appearing on eBay etc in the UK. Was hoping he'd be here by now.

Finally started seeing these in the UK. I picked mine up from a local store but I known Forbidden Planet also has them in.
Hey sabres what'd you use to create that hive wall?
I didn't make it.
It was part of an old model kit.
They look great in person and the boxes they come in are a work of art themselves. Bought two sets of the full series, one to open and display and another to keep mint on card

Picked up the Neomorph with some of my birthday cash. I have to say, it looked a lot better in person than in NECA's promo photos. Glad I picked it up.
It's a thing of beauty! Just be extremely careful with the arms if you're going to open it up. Mine broke seconds after getting it open.

Mine had the same problem. Part of the issue is some of them are packaged with the arm joints twisted around - if you're going to bend the elbows, look at them REAL CLOSELY and make sure they're meant to bend the way you think they're going to bend. They might be backwards, but that just requires bending it in the direction of the hinge and then rotating the arm around to face forwards.
