On and off. Not part of a fantasy league. Too hard to keep up with it in the UK. I saw a Giants game when I was last in NY a couple years ago. Such an awesome experience.
Go Eagles!
On and off with fantasy, could never really get into it. Go Falcons.
Fantasy is a waste of time.
Go Bengals!

Well my Saints ain't going anywhere but the Broncos are kicking ass.
Denver-Minnesota-New England-Atlanta probably top 4 teams right now.
ANNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDD The Patriots f**king win it sons a bitches
I live in New England, but I was rooting for the Falcons this time. I really though they had it, but you have to give the Patriots credit for really kicking it into overdrive in the 4th quarter there!
Yeah, sorry but this whole Antonio Brown situation reeks to high heaven. Clearly arranged weeks in advance between him and the Patriots, now watch as this supposedly uncontrollable nutjob behaves like a choirboy for the rest of the season... ::)
All I was thinking with Patriots obtaining Brown was wow, the rich do keep on getting richer.

Can't even really get mad at the Patriots at this point, I suspect most teams do shady shit to try and get ahead of the competition. New England just happen to be considerably better at it than anyone else.

Yeah a year or two ago I found it surprising to hear that Tom Brady was only middle-of-the-pack in Quarterback pay. I was like, really? Doing some searches revealed allegations that Brady owns Tom Brady brick & mortar stores and the Patriots are circumventing the salary cap by allowing Tom to sell Patriots license branding for basically nothing, valued at millions, and when you add that to Brady's pay he's the top paid Quarterback in the NFL, without the cap hit.
I might not be remembering all the details in the allegations correctly but I just remember shaking my head.
NFL bores me. I like the Panthers and Cowboys though.
I love college ball. I'm a WVU Mountaineer fan. It's going to be a long year.
I coach Jr. High football and a youth football team (5/6 grades), and I'm the president of the same youth league which is 3-6 grade.
Wrestling is my favorite sport though. I coach a youth team and Jr. High for that too.
I've watched University of Kentucky football since 2002.
Growing up I didn't really have an interest in sports at all until randomly I did. It was odd. I just woke up one day and watched UK play and have been a fan ever since. And those were some lean years. They were put on scholarship restriction in the SEC down to 59 players which is essentially a death sentence because even if you get good starters if you have no depth in the SEC you'll get destroyed.
Rich Brooks brought the program up to bowl heights at the end of his tenure, only to hand it off to a former top assistant and recruiter who IMMEDIATELY tanked the program.
Stoops has slowly plugged along, recruited well and now has the program contending in the SEC east, even though we did just lose our starting QB to a serious knee injury. So we'll have to wait and see what goes on there.
Professionally I've always followed Dallas because that was the team my Dad always watched even though I'm closest to the Tennesse Titans, so I halfway follow them as well.
Not so much a fan of the NFL as I am a watcher of my UK guys and their success in the pros. Watching the cowboys will be better now that they have Randall Cobb and Chris Westry (who is expected to contribute in the future).
Already another shit season for the Canes...
Our starting QB went down for the rest of the year a knee injury. Our backup threw two td's in limited time so maybe he can hang in against Florida this weekend.
We lost all of out starting secondary last season to graduation/draft so this will also be their real test. D line even without Josh Allen has been steady and we just got a transfer linebacker from Florida State cleared to play.
Dallas and the Titans looked good last weekend, but its hard to tell anything after game 1 after the way the teams treat the preseason now.
The Titans? I remember them.
i see what u did there

Chiefs v 49ers should be a fun Super Bowl, certainly better than last season's non-event.
Rooting for Chiefs all the way. Those fans are due!
I was rooting for both the Titans and Green Bay simply because of the U of K players on the rosters but this should be the most entertaining matchup.
Don't have a preference really but I'll go with KC simply for historical reasons.
Should Kentucky get an NFL expansion team?
Not if they put it in Louisville. L'S DOWN
Giants' QB Eli Manning is announcing his retirement on Friday. Never his biggest fan, but he beat the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl so he can't be all bad... :)
The Raiders are now officially the Las Vegas Raiders, which just doesn't sound right to me.

Eli's numbers were never spectacular in those Super Bowls. Yet I guess they didn't know who else to give the MVP to.
255 yards / 2 TDs / 1 INT / 55.88%
296 yards / 1 TDs / 0 INT / 75%
Kyle Shanahan chokes again! Happy for the Chiefs, they've always been one of my more liked teams, but the 49ers really should have had that.
Patrick Mahomes was looking really bad for roughly the first three quarters, but then the miracle man pulled it out! I'm really happy for all those Chiefs fans that started wondering if they'd ever see a championship in their lifetime. Really happy for Andy Reid too. If it wasn't for Andy, Nick Foles would have still been retired, Coach Dougie P. would still be a High School coach, and the Eagles would have never won their first Super Bowl! Congrats Andy!
I'm a lifelong Steelers fan but the NFL in its current state is unwatchable.

Looks like it pretty much is. Incidentally, that ad has a 2003 copyright, which is about when GW stopped making the original Bloodbowl. It was re-released with updated rules and much nicer models a few years back - I imagine the gameplay would be suspiciously similar between the two, but the real joy of BB is league play rather than one off matches.

Yeah, don't think anyone expected it to be anywhere near that one sided (I had the Bucs to win :o). Pittsburgh barely scraping past Dallas was a shock too.
I kinda expected that though. Most of our wins are pretty close and rarely blow outs. What's frustrating is how Pittsburgh plays down to competition.

Stephen A. is a complete moron who's just there for shock value, same as Skip Bayless. Have to say the Steelers have a great chance to go unbeaten if they get past Baltimore on TNF, which I expect them to. Bills and Colts are the only other teams who might stop them. Sucks to see Joe Burrow go down for the rest of the season (and probably beyond), though perhaps not massively surprising considering how bad the Bengals' OL has been.
Colin Cowherd is another one I cant stand. He flip flops like a fish out of water. And it does suck for Burrow because he has talent. I knew when Cincinnati drafted him that their o-line was going to fail him.

Long time coming. Denver will play tonight's game against New Orleans without any of their 4 rostered QBs, after one of them tested positive for Covid and the others were in close contact.

As a Dolphins fan, everything in the AFC East right now is wonderful. Eliminated Pats from the Playoffs, and the Jets do the most Jets thing imaginable
I grew up kind of without a team because of living in Kentucky and being a state without a franchise.
My Dad is a Cowboys fan so I watched them, and we are close to Nashville so all the Titans games are on.
I really just kind of root for former UK players in the nfl.
So I'm happy that the Dolphins finally started to play Lynn Bowden, the kid is an absolute stud who actually took one for the team at UK and basically played QB the majority of last season as a WR. He was named the most versatile player in the nation for a reason, and it blows my mind that as good as nfl scouts are, they sometimes get a guy and dont know how to use him like they did in Oakland. I'd have liked to see what he could've done had he not been traded to Miami right before the season started.
Currently watching Benny Snell and Pittsburgh.

They still use Snell wrong most of the time. Snell isn't a guy you can give the ball too once and hit a home run, he's a guy who can lean on the defense after a dozen or so carries, and then after they are tired of tackling him he starts to gash teams for five or six yards, and then a twenty yard gain.
Too often Pitt tries to use him with three or four rushes. He will never be effective that way, got to give him more than that.
Steelers started playing worse when Bud Dupree went down. Him and Watt were forcing other teams offenses into making mistakes. Now they double Watt and look a whole lot less dynamic on that end.
Another Brady Bowl.... ::)
Go Chiefs!
I'll be going for Tampa because Mike Edwards a UK great plays for them.
Bucs to win 34-24, Brady wins another SB and gets the MVP honours, and we all die a little on the inside...
Not too far off, but I gave the Chiefs way too much credit. Awful performance in all three areas.

Eh, that was a divisional game. It doesn't matter how good or bad anybody is in the NFC east, they all play each other ugly.
The format this year has been to play everybody close, and then start pulling away in the second half. If their defense was even half as good as the offense they'd be scary good. They've got more individuals on that side this year, but still haven't put it all together yet.

That was a weird game to watch. Dallas outgained NE by like 200 yards and still only won by a touchdown in OT.
The Pick 6 and then then getting beat on the perfectly thrown deep pass the next play was pretty crazy turnaround. Still something just looks different about Dak this year. He's putting up the same kind of numbers, but he is just showing "it" this year. I wouldn't want to be the opposing team in a close game if Dallas has the ball last.
0 -6
Maybe Detroit will go for the whole can of worms and end on 0-16 again.

It would be 0-17 now. There's a new record to make! ;D
The will probably go 0-16, and win the last one to piss everybody off.
I only paid attention to a handful of scores but haven't they been playing everbody close but just can't actually win?
Just looked, only two games were more than two score losses.

Yeah, they keep finding entertaining ways to lose late, including a last second NFL record 66 yard FG against Baltimore that bounced off the upright and went over.

Mad respect goes to all the Lions fans out there for sticking with them. Jets, Dolphins fans too. (It's been nice to finally see things turn around for Buffalo and Cleveland fans.)

Kind of weird. I was a Pistons fan in early 2000s when I started off looking for anybody to oppose the arrogant ass Lakers but never had an interest in the Lions.
Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic...
Something rankles thee?
Niners secondary is a major liability. 😩
GO *sigh* EAGLES!!!!
What an insane, nonsensical sport this is... :D
J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!
Niners making their way to the Super Bowl! haha
And just like that, we're back to being utter crap.
And the universe makes sense again....
Honestly, I'd take being halfway competent every other week right now. We should really be relegated to the College ranks...
Well, after a slightly disappointing Wild Card round, we got arguably the best weekend of Playoff Football in living memory, capped by an all-time great matchup between the Chiefs and Bills! It beggars belief why Buffalo kicked off into the End Zone after going ahead with 13 seconds left, instead of making the Chiefs return it and leaving them without enough time to get into Field Goal range. Even then, it's embarrassing that they allowed KC to go 44 yards in about 9 seconds and tie the game. Incredible game though, and it's surely only a matter of time before Buffalo makes it back to the Super Bowl.
Go Bengals!
Been a fantastic Playoffs, and hopefully the SB will live up to the last couple of weeks. Doubt anyone saw the Bengals making it at the start of the season (or even the start of the Playoffs), and it's good to see Matthew Stafford finally getting a shot at glory. Elsewhere, the Washington Football Team have somehow managed to come up with an even more dull, uninspired name...
They should've gone with the Comanches. 8)
Going with a 30-20 Rams win tonight, just think the Bengals' OL will be overrun by Donald and co. I've backed against Cincinnati in every Playoff game so far though, so what do I know?
That was a great game. Could have gone either way.
I can't believe the Rams took so long to utilize Kupp.
Can't believe Stafford won a super bowl as soon as he left the Lions.
I mean, he did join the best team that money could buy. If it wasn't now it might have been never.
Draft night! Best night of the year... :)

One of the dudes from the college team I watch fell three rounds, but he fell to the chiefs. So I'm sure he's missing the money from not going second round, but if you gotta fall somewhere at least its too a good team that needs help at your position.
It's going to be another looooooong season... :-\
haha I'm just glad the Niners got their first loss out of the way.
What a bizarrely improbable win for the Jets! 😆 Browns could have just run out the clock if they hadn't scored their last TD too. Schmucks... 😂
haha Not sure what the coach was thinking.
How about the Cardinals win? That was insane!
Wonder how our critics are going to downplay our win this week. Absolutely stuffed Rodgers and the Packers... 😎
We beat the Bills! Did NOT see that coming... 🙂
That was a good game! Bucs game was boring, but glad they beat the Rams.
Quote from: Master Chief on Nov 07, 2022, 03:54:26 PMThat was a good game! Bucs game was boring, but glad they beat the Rams.
Rams, Packers and Bucs were seen as the big 3 in the NFC, but they've all been poor so far.
Glad the Niners are at least .500 right now. I'm hoping they stay hot. 8)
And it all started so well...
New year, same old Jets.
Still a little shook from Damar Hamlin's accident. :(
As a pats fan I really hope they fire the entire coaching staff.
My theory is you need to be a young, aggressive, players coach
The game has passed bill. Still solid at defense but the play calling is inexcusable among him benching top players (for instance suspending our kicker for kickoffs, and then we give up 2 kick returns for touchdowns because Folk can't kick it out of the end zone).
Anyways just a rant from a pats fan
Oh also Joe Judge and Matt Patricia have no place to be in the NFL
I feel the Cowboys might've peaked too early. Kind of played lackadaisical for two straight games, and defense hasn't been as good the last third of the season.
I actually like the matchup though for the wildcard game. Yeah it is Brady in the playoffs, but it is old Brady, and the win earlier in the season will have sat badly with the Boys.
That said, the Boys have been absolute trash in the 2000s in the playoffs, so nor would I be surprised if they lost. :\
Fully expecting some combination of KC/Buffalo vs San Francisco/Philadelphia in the Super Bowl. Dark horse pick is Tampa Bay. They've got Brady, and have developed a happy knack of coming from behind in the 4th Quarter.
Another epic choke job by the Chargers last night! Ridiculous that teams are still using Prevent Defense in 2023, and losing games they have no right to as a result.
Should be a cracking game tonight, between arguably the two strongest rosters from top to bottom in the NFL. Think the Eagles take it 34-24.
Was a cracking game, unfortunately I've already binned it off because it was decided by a ridiculously bad call by the officials. Shame...
Well, that was certainly an ending
Here we go again! Going to be an interesting season for us Jets fans, with future Hall of Fame Quarterback Aaron Rodgers on board, though I think it'll be the same 4-5 teams contending as last season...

Well, Aaron Rodgers lasted all of 4 plays before apparently tearing his Achilles. So, that's our season down the crapper (even if we did somehow come back and beat Buffalo)... ::)
Don't think Wilson has what it takes to keep the team afloat.
It was a fun game to watch, though.
As a Dolphins fan, and having a best friend who supports the Bears. It was probably the funniest thing to have happened so far this year.
What a bellend he is
Congratulations on outing yourself and your friend as colossal dickheads, like anyone else who celebrates a serious injury.
Rodgers can't be that bad if Randall Cobb, UK football legend, likes him enough to follow him from team to team.
Jets have the defense to keep them afloat for the playoffs if Wilson can give them ANYTHING offensively. There is a rumor that they want Trey Lance from the cowboys. Lance might end up being the player traded for the most first round picks ever if this is true.
Jets better call Tom Brady.
It's a shame jets look like they have a solid team except for the QB position. I'm a pats fan so I won't complain too much, but do feel for rodgers.
I feel like Eagles and Niners definitely going to be the teams to beat in the NFC. And in the AFC no matter how the season starts the Chiefs are still going to be the team to beat once playoff time comes. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like by week 10 or so.
At the moment I got Niners vs Chiefs though
What I've gathered after week 4.
49ers and eagles remain the top contenders of the NFC.
Cowboys are not bad but unreliable as they stomped another poor football team.
In the AFC the Ravens, Dolphins, and Bills all seem fraudulent to me but if they hit on all cylinders they could compete for the title. Chiefs are still the team to beat.
And as for my Pats, where do I begin? Belichick better figure something out because it's starting to look like the game is passing him by (still a solid Defensive mind though). Mac Jones is not that guy, not a rock bottom qb but he psychs himself out and the spotlight looks too bright for him to handle. And another year passing by without any significant coaching and player adjustments in key areas such as WR and OL leaves us at 1-3...gonna be a long season.
Boom! We finally beat the Eagles (after losing all 12 previous meetings). Doesn't get much better than this... ;D
I'm glad the Niners got the first loss now and not later in the season. :'(
Quote from: Master Chief on Oct 18, 2023, 04:30:40 PMI'm glad the Niners got the first loss now and not later in the season. :'(
Losing to the PJ Walker led Browns is not one I saw coming! Losing your best two players to injury didn't help, nor did some questionable officiating.
Even the worst team in the NFL still has a team full of stars at the collegiate level. There is really no nfl team that is UNTALENTED. There are just teams with more talent. And sometimes that talent gets caught sleeping on people.
Don't think I'll ever understand how we won that game yesterday?! :P
Bit of a predictable Playoffs after the Wild Card round. Never gave the Ravens much of a chance against the Chiefs, despite their impressive regular season and having home field advantage, they're just not a good Playoff team these days.
The Lions only really have themselves to blame for not reaching their first ever Super Bowl, blowing a 24-7 lead in San Francisco. Not kicking a game tying FG at 27-24 down made no sense at all, and ultimately cost them.
Think the Chiefs win the Super Bowl fairly comfortably.
...again
I don't like either team, but Kansas City has an all time U of Kentucky great on it in Mike Edwards, and another guy on the practice squad in Darian Kinnard, so I guess I have to root for them.
Being a long suffering cowboys fan in the NFC, I can't abide the 49ers. I do think the 49ers have a decent chance. They have lots of firepower themselves, and Purdy sometimes has that magic about him that is hard to prepare for. The Chiefs SHOULD win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the 49ers get the W.
Looks like the Niners are favored to win, at least from sites like ESPN and betting platforms. Niners winning would be a perfect way to get retribution from their last Super Bowl meeting in 2020.

haha As a Niners fan, I was rooting for the Cowboys against the Packers. It's ok,
Kimarhi, root for Red and Gold. :P
To me its hard to root against the Champs when they are in the finals. Of any sport.
Come on, you guys all know the outcome has already been determined, right? I just heard all about it on Fox News.

Wow this aged well
Chiefs to win something like 31-17. 49ers are a strong team from top to bottom, but I don't think they match up particularly well with KC, and they've been fortunate to win their previous two games.
Mahomes to throw for 3 TDs, Pacheco to go over 100 rushing yards and a TD, Chiefs Defense to force a couple of turnovers. Just hope we don't have too much Taylor Swift forced down our throats, although it's a pretty forlorn hope...
Overtime rules just cam up on the telly. Umpire then repeated them to the players. I still have no clue what they're doing. American football is slower and more complicated than a five day test cricket match.
Chiefs won. Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift on the 50 yard line now?

Yup. Football has been absolutely killed by letting the refs and commercials take over.
Great season overall both on and off the field, with viewership continuing to rise and the expansion of the International Series. Just sucks that the Jets are still nowhere near competing for a Super Bowl.
Only surprise for me about last night's game was that it was so close. Chiefs weren't at their best, but the 49ers didn't take advantage of their opportunities and had some key injuries. Just typical that the winning score came from a player who the Jets dumped because we couldn't find a role for him...
I don't know how much longer the chiefs can stay together. Appears to be some sort of internal issue that makes it harder than it needs to be on offense. Reminds me of the early 2000s lakers team that ran into the Pistons after winning three championships, and then fell apart.
But maybe no.
Mike Edwards got his second super bowl ring (got one win tampa bay). So I'm happy in that regard that the Chiefs won.
Draft day! Always one of my favourite days of the year, hopefully the Jets have a better one than last year...
I hope the Niners get a new kicker. ;D
