Overlord Wolfensten The Movie

An interesting first 5 minutes followed by a meandering 145. Frankenstein's Army is in a similar vein, but much more interesting, and didn't overstay its welcome.

That's a God-damned insult to Wolfenstein. A Wolfenstein movie might actually be interesting.

Speaking of underwhelming video game adaptations:

Doom: Annihilation

They had two Imp suits and a factory in Ukraine. Their effort was admirable, but the result was less worhtwhile than the 2005 film.
I actually really liked Overlord, so I have no issue calling it Wolfenstein the movie.

I also didn't dislike Doom Annihilation. It's not a great film, but it does the best it can with a low budget, and I think it captures the spirit of the games better than the 2005 movie.

I really enjoyed Overlord too. The D-Day stuff at the start was a million times better than it had any right to be, and the remainder was a lot of fun. Pilou Asbæk was clearly having a f**king ball as the villain.

Well, hell, lol

I'm trying to wrap my brain around that visual... "an entire dungeon cellar filled with Hitlers".

The Reptile

Not a bad Hammer film, and definitely one of their more unique monsters.

The Gorgon

Another good one. It's just a shame that Christopher Lee isn't in it more.

It's not as terrible as I anticipated, but I feel they didn't use what they had as well as they could. And the lack of creature diversity was really disappointing.

Still, the imps were done really well and the acting want half as bad as the trailers made out.

Nah basically their resistance sources spotted a clone getting brought back to Castle Wolfenstein and thought it was the real deal. They find it in a room not long before this scene and its described as having Down Syndrome.

Just watched the Spanish blu-ray of True Lies. It's clearly an old master, and looks like a blu ray release from 2005-2008, but it's at least a release. It's also really entertaining. I forgot just how good it is.

In comparison to the Alien 40th Anniversary 4k UHD, though, it's fairly poor. I'm watching Alien now. Wow. Wow. Film looks amazing.

The Abominable Snowman (1957)

A fairly decent little psychological thriller about obsession.

The Plague of the Zombies

One of Hammer's very best films. Very atmospheric, and that graveyard scene is still chilling.

Tenet

A Bond movie by way of a self absorbed English major. Did not need to be 2.5 hours long.

Pitch Black in 4k followed by Dark Fury in HD.

The film is still fantastic. The follow up animation is... Well. It's OK. Nothing special.
