Did they involve love-starved space nuns?

Nope but my techpriest had an unhealthy affection for several machine spirits.

Quote from: Acid_Reign161 on Aug 18, 2024, 09:19:07 PMI own the RPG, but simply don't know anyone in proximity to actually sit down and play. Since I've never participated in a book based /tabletop rpg, is it something that could be played via webcam? And if so, is it something that could be organised officially for AvPGalaxy members who are interested? (Time difference and work commitments permitting?) get some of us together, keep a log of the stories that play out and have our own kinda ongoing 'series'? 😊

Webcam usually isn't necessary. Discord group VC and a supporting website for maps (and dice rolling if you don't entirely trust people to play honestly) is standard.

To add to this (since I've only ever played the game over Discord as well), there's a bot than can be added to a Discord server that adds the dice roller right into the server, with custom dice that match the designs of the ones the game would use in real life on a tabletop.

I wish they released an "ultimate edition" with all the add-ons together in one book.

Be like a phone book.

Just received a sneak-peek from Free League!

Locations for Rapture Protocol include the towing vessel USCSS Fidanza and the Jeremiah VI mining colony.

Hey @Slutty Badger in another thread you mentioned that the some source confirmed that the Derelict was destroyed but didn't elaborate on it, what did you mean?

The Weyland-Yutani Report states that the Derelict was wrecked in the blast from the processor at Hadley's Hope.

Meanwhile, the RPG is ambiguous on the Derelict's fate: while it's initially said that the Derelict MAY have been swallowed by a fissure and buried by rock after the processor blew up, its status can vary depending on what the Game Mother decides. Sources that depict the Derelict as still being intact are marked as ambiguously canon; I think that remark was directed specifically at ACM. The Engineer section later on, however, confirms that the Space Jockey was destroyed.

Oh, and the Resurrection novel also confirms it as being vaporized. I know that's not a recent source, but might as well mention it.

How does it say the Space Jockey was destroyed?

Sounds to me like the most recent source (the RPG) is deliberately vague on the topic.
That also happens to be what Andrew Gaska confirmed when I asked him about it a little while back.

Also the WY report doesn't say it was wrecked, merely that it was a "non-viable source" as of the timeframe of the book (post-2381).

The RPG says that the Space Jockey was destroyed, thus limiting available information on the Engineers. It's in the Alien Species section. Meanwhile, the Wey-Yu Report says that the boom from the processor rendered the Derelict non-viable for specimen collection, indicating that it was structurally damaged if not destroyed outright.

Zazeren

Maybe it flew away after a desperate survivor hacked into it

😉

But I want to know, will these guys be doing another trilogy?

Draconis strain is great and I want more coolness
