So the game is finally out in less than 2 weeks now and I'm excited as F*CK, can't wait! So what do you guys think this game's review scores will be? Not that scores necessarily mean everything, just wondering what you guys think based on what we know.
I personally can see it getting in the 8-8.5 range, but my dream would be for a 9+
I see it getting a solid 8. Everything they've shown so far has been looking pretty promising 8)
Probably about 6-9.5
Broad generalization but some reviewers are probably ready to gut it like a pig
Somewhere between 7-8 I hope

This .
I'm guessing around the 7 - 8 range. The game will need a well-executed story and exceptional narrative to get higher.
This will sell like crazy if it's an 8 or higher.
I predict at most 7/10 with a metacritic score of around 65. The difficulty, constant repetition and the old-school save points will bring the score down considerably. Then, Alien and Predator games are just never well received by critics in general.
7/10 - crappy human AI, too short, invincible alien, shit alien behavior, amnesia clone, lots of reused assets, non sense plot elements, good graphics and sounds, well made xeno model (even if its not entirely accurate), great dynamic lighting usage
I'm willing to bet good money that the review score will fall between 1 - 10.

I think you are almost right, but with a bump up to 8-8.5 due to nailing the atmosphere and looks.
I'm guessing around the 7/10 or 8/10. That general area. While what we've seen looks great (minus some weird bugs and lip sync), gameplay does seem a bit bare and I feel only including one survivor map is going to be seen as a negative by reviewers.

Hope the lip sync and physics bugs are gone by release.
If there is as much story as the Metal Gear series, it will get 9 or 10/10
7 most likely, but secretly hope for 9.
6 out of 10.
Probably 8's.
Praying for 9+ though.
Fresh air for an old franchise, awesome graphic detail and sound, Alien's AI not perfect (but its a really hard task)
9 out of 10
So many biased opinions ::)

Fortunately, we have your wisdom ::)
Just because the game looks good and have awesome sound effect, doesn't make it a 9 or 10/10 title.
Offcourse not, but all that plus :being the first ever "horror" alien game, without frantic shooter action, and only one deadly alien...helps a lot to get the score
Its not deadly, its immortal. There's a difference. An immortal kitten can kill you too.

Of course. 8 is as high as I will predict. I don't see it bombing. We shall see.

The misleading demo? That doesn't count.
Not really my point, but you are correct.
I'm gonna say 7-7.5. What will probably end up making the score lower than it potentially could be is the pacing of the game and difficulty of the alien. Other than that the reviews will be basically positive, I think.

An ant can think you are inmortal, but you arent
God forbid we have a game where the alien is a credible threat for the first time in over a decade (IMO) as opposed to more tired pew-pew drag.

It's all about
balance. If it's too difficult it becomes boring, frustrating and repetitive. Too easy and it's just a great movie ride through the set of the Nostromo.

Personally I welcome an Alien thinking game with a truly unstoppable creature. How many times can you really outsmart a force born to kill.
Agreed.
Best sign so far that this game will be good is that fact that Creative Assembly has shared the game as a "work-in-progress" at events before it is released. Gearbox did not have the confidence to do this with Colonial Marines because they were aware that fans would be upset. From what I've observed, a lot of gamers that got a chance to play this already have been pleased with their experience.
My prediction is that most reviews will be favorable.
Many gamers played ACM too.

Stop being so negative. Jesus.
8 to 8.5 range. No one has really had many negative things to say about this game really. A few things here and there, but (so far) nothing that might drag a score down into the 6 or so range. GameInformer wrote up an article not to long ago about the editor had played the first 8 or so hours of the game and really enjoyed it etc. My only fear is the story and the way the characters interact with one another, i really want a cinematic type experience but I doubt i'll get that based on what I have seen so far. Crosses fingers.
Why the humans turned against each other btw? If they all team up they can kill the xeno one way or another.

You can't compare the little bits of multiplayer CM shared here and there with the hours of campaign and survivor mode Isolation has. It's obvious that Sega is trying to win us over with how open they've been with inviting people to play it.
I expect reviews to be released much earlier than CM as well.
The fact that the review embargo ends on Friday kind of indicates that Sega and CA have confidence in their product. Maybe it won't get the best reviews, but it sounds like it will be miles better than A:CMs reception.

Exactly. Hardly anyone played ACM. It seems like EVERYONE and their chestburster has played AI. ;)
As long as it's a 7 or higher, then I'm good. I expect lower scores due more to a weak story if it's not good, but I have no idea how the story plays out. The embargo lifting on Friday fills me with a lot of hope.
I'm confident this game will be a solid 8. Did gearbox ever have the A:CM campaign playable to the public or was it always the multiplayer?
6.5

What irony? It seems you don't know the military therm at all.
Was Winter not the protagonist of ACM? Were you not, perhaps, a bit invested (at one time) in one of the biggest flop games in years?
No shame in getting your hopes up for a good game like many of us did and being disappointed, but your attitude re: this game seems a bit sour grapes, is all I'm saying.

That's been his name since before ACM, I believe.

I partially did it for ACM. Way before we were allowed to see any "proper" ACM footage. It was shortly after the announce I believe and by that time I didn't have 1k posts so I was able to change my username whenever I wanted to. Then I passed 1k posts and I realized I can no longer change my name so I got stuck with this one. I don't mind it really. My nickname is Hicks since I was in the high school. I am Hicks in Steam, Evolve, Xfire, Playfire, Xbox Live (no longer active), etc. But here there was already an established user with that name and I prefer to use a unique name, rather than using *name123412412521* or *name____* and stuff like that. So yeah, you see where I am coming from.
In the end - choose your nickname wisely :D As I said, once you pass 1k posts you can no longer change it. I am not sure if the subscribers can do that after 1k posts though.

Awesome thanks!
If IGN is doing a review 4 days before the game is out, I would imagine SEGA has a lot of faith in the game and has nothing or little to fear.

This is what I was thinking. I remember when ACM was coming out I started to get worried when there were no reviews until the day of. Lifting the embargo this early is definitely a good sign!

When IGN played ACM. It was only the first level, which wasn't a BAD level, IMO. And, it was on PC. So, it was kinda misleading. Had they played the whole game, I would have said, "nope".
