It's something that has been cropping up in the continuity of Predator and AVP for a long long while. AVP 2 features Prince being captured and his gear being studied. Predator Concrete Jungle is based entirely on humans getting their hands on Scarface's left behind equipment and blood.

What it would also allow, much like in Predator 2 where Keyes tries to capture the Predator and we see CH reach into his bag of tricks and do new things, it would allow for even more of that. What else can this guy do when he get's cornered? What tricks does the Predator have to unleash that we have yet to see?

I'd definitely like to see a Hunters situation with a knowledgable team being after the Predators. We've had moments of it in 2 and TP, but I'd rather a whole movie revolving around it.

But still with a balloon-headed crabator, right?

Had the same idea... the whole film taking place on the Stargazer facility during lockdown.

I had an idea for a Predator movie where Predator gets captured in some facility, he escapes without his gadgets and a team of humans is tracking him down. Predator is forced to be cunning and inovative in order to survive. Sort of a "tables are turned" kind of Predator movie where the odds are against the Predator.

Too bad Shane took the capture part and butchered it.

What really bums me out is The Predator basically took the idea I had and shit on it.

I've always thought the biggest thread going through the Predator films, at least the first two, was humanity fighting back.

Bringing in those X-com elements, humanity turns the tables on the hunters, gets their gear, starts fighting them off the planet. The Predators coming here are hunters, doing it for fun, with lots of ritual behind it. The humans don't see it that way and see Predators as invaders. Boom. You could do a lot of stuff with that idea. When things start getting serious for the Preds, then they have to change up what they're doing and in that instance this thing could turn into an arms race, or a tense situation where war could become an reality.

Do I want a Predator 5? How about we have a decent sequel to Predator 2, and forget trying to "work around" The Predator. Just don't even bring it up in the next one. Find threads form the previous films and continue. Get Adam Baldwin in there.

Some nice ideas by MR - H. Definitely a much better story than anything we got after P2.

I personally think that Fox never really tried. You could argue that they gave a lot of money to Shane Black for The Predator, but he was the wrong guy for the job. They thought throwing money would be enough without knowing what the franchise actually needs. They thought a Predator "Kiss kiss, bang bang" movie should be a good idea. I remember the CEO of Fox saying "The script read nothing like a predator movie"... I mean... there you go.

Predators was alright, but after a promising 1st act failed to deliver the adrenaline-pumping thrill we had in Pred 1 and Pred 2.

I believe a good, even great Predator movie can be done, if they actually hire a guy to write the script, who actually cares about the property. How can you show that? Well, do the obvious thing everybody wants and nobody has done so far: set the frickin' movie in the future. It's not that hard.

I'm not sure this video got posted already, but something like this would be great, i'm very confident:

Predators isn't super memorable to me, and I think the second half of the movie is incredibly messy, but I really enjoy the first half a lot and it has some pretty fun ideas. When its good, its inoffensive fun. And its worst parts are nowhere as bad as even the best parts of The Predator.

Predators is a ripoff of Predator in the same way that Alien3 is a ripoff of Alien.

If you boil it down to some superficial elements, sure. If you look at the actual plot, no.

Won't change the fact that the movie was shit

A few repeated moments don't make it a copy of the first.

It was more than a few though.

;D

Hides.

It's a jungle. They see a Predator in the trees (of course they do, its a jungle). They fall over a waterfall. Hanzo stays behind to fight the Predator (but we go further and see the fight. Though the music cue is pushing it). Royce fights a Predator mudded up (and that's being generous since Isabelle gives him that information, why the hell wouldn't he employ it, but it's still structurally different to Dutch's fight).

4 instances of reused dialogue (in English). It's a few of each. But I will never not f**king hate that.

Any claims of Predators remaking Predator is nothing more than pure hyperbole. The story is completely different.
