Make it a Marvel/DC crossover and throw in Namor for more horror elements!

Maybe a shared universe like that can be more successful than Universal's recent venture.

Nightmare Asylum

"I definitely love the trench creatures because it does allow me to hunt back to my horror roots and so I went all out and basically made those sequences just monster movies, like just sea creature monster movies."

Nightmare Asylum

"We, you know, we're still deep in sort of crafting the script, crafting the story right now so I don't want to get into that too much, but definitely it's one that I really want to lean into the horror of it, so it's going to play more as a monster horror movie then it will as a superhero film, but it's still definitely part of the Aquaman world," Wan said.

WB: "Just f**king watch Underwater!"

I wonder if actually they told James Wan about this ahead of time, unlike with Swamp Thing.

Nightmare Asylum

But more sea horror is always a good thing. :(

KiramidHead

Well, now I'm less disappointed.

Nightmare Asylum

Seeing Black Manta in full on pirate mode take on the Trench in a sea based horror movie would have been pretty neat, though.
