Great seeing you around again Stingray! Was beginning to wonder if/when you'd ever pop up again! Great art as usual :)

I'd love to hear some details about the book, if you'd be inclined to share.

Thanks!  ;D

Well, the book is planned to be a first installment to a potential series. A long one at that. This is the premise:

Sometime in the distant future...

Civil war has broken out on the remote harvest world of a distant star system. Stabilization forces touch down from the planet Netsblane, a major political superpower with relations throughout the known galaxy. A ruthless terrorist organization has threatened Netsblane with further retaliation until support of their enemy has ceased, resulting in the destruction of the Netsbli embassy.

Meanwhile, on board an ancient space station guarding remote bio-sanctuary worlds, Lieutenants Drake Vetro and Ace Cohen of the Netsblane Universal Operations Command wearily await a transfer where they will see action away from mundane security detail. With recent political events unfolding, the two Universal Operatives finally catch their break and are sent to the long-range carrier starship "Nightingale" of the major naval blockade guarding Netsblane.

There they meet an eccentric crew of characters that help them defend the system against the rising threats, battling on land, in the sea, through the air, and in space, eventually uncovering the truth behind the embassy attack and the involvement of a mysterious shadow faction.

It's going to be a mix of sci-fi, action/adventure, drama, and comedy with detailed technical accuracy thanks to the help of my military and aviation friends.

I'm also planning on illustrating it, with a drawing at the start of every chapter. Aside from the more adult situations and orientations, the characters and scenarios are based on the roleplaying combat games I would play with imaginary friends in my backyard when I was a child. The whole "Netsblane" theme lasted for MANY years up until my early teens, so I have PLENTY of scenarios to write about in the future. No sense leaving all that fun trapped in my memories forever...

And I do predict possible controversy regarding the main hero character. He's literally been written in a way that has never been done before in a serious fictional work. At least, to my knowledge.

I hope to finish it by December, at most. I promised Konstantin I would finish it within the year.

If you would like a sample, shoot a PM at me.  ;)

Very cool stuff, man. My interest is piqued. Wishing you the best of luck with such a massive project.

Think I'm gonna hold off on a sample, though. Might be more fun to read it as a whole. :)

Thanks!

Alright then, I understand that.  :)

And hey, at least this project has at least somewhat of a release date. The only thing that could possibly stop me is my dreaded long-life enemy... procrastination. *dramatic music*

Also, my mother constantly interrupting me. Makes me feel like Jack Nicholson in The Shining... you know the scene.

Travis!!! I am so relieved to know you're alive and well! Made me sad to see you disappear like that...

Also super happy that your movie idea is still a-go!

You should post more studies from now on. I'd love to see more.

After lots of life problems and my house burning down from the Valley Fire, I have returned.
Unfortunately the fire destroyed everything but a few computers I saved during the evacuation, so all my previous film projects are pretty much done for a long while, if not permanently.

But my creativity in general is still strong...
here, have a picture of an old TV:

I'm really sorry to hear about your house. Glad you're bouncing back though!

Love the TV. Looks really nice. Have you ever thought about doing some of the low-fi sci-fi bits from Isolation? I think you'd suit them pretty well.

Dude...

There's not much I can say to comfort you after such a disaster affecting you directly... it just f**king sucks, man, and it's unfair. Not only because of your projects but because that house was a big part of your life (at least I'm assuming...)

My deepest condolences, man. I sincerely hope you'll get back on your feet properly very soon, if you haven't already. And seeing you create art so soon? That's f**king badass, man.

Hang in there, Travis. If there's anything we can do from halfway across the world, let us know. :)

Back from the dead again. Quite a rebirth this time around, too!  ;)
I may have changed a bit, but it looks like the site is the same as I remember it. Oh, nostalgia.
Anyway, have some more artsies!

These four were something I did for an Alien fan film that, AFAIK, was never completed. It's been quite a few years and I haven't heard from the creator since I made them, so I figure it's safe to post them. These are concepts for the USCSS Columbus, a four-crew civilian ship that serves as the main setting for the film. I wasn't given much feedback on what direction to go with the base design, so I kind of gave up until I could hear back from him, but here we are seven years later and nothing, so... yeah.

In 2018 my style shifted a lot from the traditional b/w to retro-style colorized space art after some practice coloring my sketches in Paint.NET... it's a style that has pretty much stuck with me since getting the hang of it (but no worries, I still like doing traditional b/w pieces too):

Some symbolism reflecting my new life journey (and the last drawing to feature the initials of my deadname):

And here are a couple of my latest ones:

That's it for now, but hopefully more coming soon.
It's nice to be back and I hope to stick around this time, lol.  :)

Aeroflot is a major Russian airline... A lot of the little details there advertise real things, they are mostly there to show the kind of cultural diversity in that city.

I've said this many times in the past, Stingray, but your work is absolutely gorgeous.

Loving the coloring style of the new pieces, too. Getting some heavy Ron Cobb and Chris Foss vibes.
