Its really hard picturing him being able to match Michael Biehn's subdued and quiet perfomance, I mean I am sure the character will remain the level-headed one of the marines, but its the actors that add the kind of nuances and ticks that really make them iconic.
That's just it. Biehn perfected the quiet sensitive tough guy role in both Terminator and Aliens.
I think Remar as Hicks would've been more harder and lacked that sensitivity that Biehn brought to the character.

It's why I'm glad the whole Newt biting Hicks scene was also removed. It made him look too much of a jerk with the whole rabies comment.
That still happens though, she bites his hand when he reached for her when she under the floor. Rabies part not included of course.

Which badly written wiki was that copied and pasted from?
And what "minor plothole"?
It's very obvious from watching the film that Burke was an opportunist and an antagonist?
Curious about that too, as our Ash page doesn't have that so it might either be on another page or from another wiki, hopefully one that won't resort to plagiaizing.
Hicks doesn't seem the type to murder in cold blood but people can be pushed to doing out of character things given the right circumstances.
He had lost most of his squad and now Burke was revealed not only to be a scumbag who tried to infect Ripley and Newt, a child, but he would potentially be planning on murdering them later to keep the knowledge about the implantation a secret, assuming of course that Ripley's speculation would be true.
