I've developed a taste for vinyl figures lately - mainly some childhood animes - but these aren't doing it for me. Bit too on the stylized side for my liking.

Limited to 500 and still not sold out.
Probably not a great sign for the line.
I like the Mantis design just fine, but I really don't like how they did the marine look

I plan on grabbing one as soon as I am able.

US and Canada only, anyway.

Yes, I know they are geared towards collectors but there's something obscene about what is clearly a children's toy being sold for 200 bucks. No matter how high quality it is, it still looks like something for eight-year-olds.

Yet another waste of the Kenner license.

Standard super deformed "oh look we want a piece of the pop vinyl hype pie too" - it's overpriced rubbish that doesn't look good.. which is a shame as I actually like the idea of the pink mantis variant had it actually looked like the original.

Using the 'Alien' logo instead of 'Aliens' or even 'Operation: Aliens' (even NECA realised the value of the old style packaging)

It's not even the £200 price point... if they had released an enlarged version of Mantis with a Hicks and both were proportionally accurate instead of this silly style, and popped them in a box mimicking the original artwork with the blue and purple mist background, I'd be all over it.

But what is this? Looks like a (typically bad modern) kids toy, priced like a collectible, awful design choice, didn't play into the nostalgia of the toys based on at all.. who is this aimed for exactly? They definitely dropped the ball.

Have they released the packing?  I haven't seen it.
Maybe it will look cool
