Huh, what a coincidence. I've been recently binging some Lovecraft audiobooks. Among them was, of course, Mountains of Madness, and I again noticed how it served as a blueprint for so many modern "mankind journeys to the remote corners of the known world and discovers forbidden things about alien civilizations it has no business in" stories, including Alien. Now, I stumbled upon this thread. Thanks, I'll give it a read.
