They could just focus on remastering the big library of awesome Star Wars games from the past. Looking at you, X-Wing, Kotor and Rogue Squadron series.
EA? lol
Nightdive does the best Remasters imo.

And they are already remastering Star Wars games, hopefully, Jedi Knight is next.
Do wish Eclipse had got the bullet myself...
Well, Eclipse is not made by EA so any job and budgetary cuts there wouldn't affect it.
I know, hence got, instead of caught because I know rationally it is not in the firing line.
I remember a rumor saying that there was a Star Wars strategy game in development. I wonder how true it is, and if true, is the project alive?

A bit surprising, considering the "bad profitability" of RTS games

Something Star Wars is a disaster ? No way
The Dark Forces remaster is pretty good, but this truly is a disaster. Considering requesting a refund from Steam, if there's no quick patch.
Saw a trailer for the DF remaster. Didn't look very different from the original.
It is a remaster, not a remake but that said, a significantly polished experience.

Unlike Battlefront Classic Collection, now with only two player splitscreen instead of four player, missing half the cutscenes, several menus, and using artificial intelligence upscales some of which are just outright broken.
That's what I'm talking about. Dialed down the pixelation a bit. Big whoop.
Yeah it is actually?
It is a superb and difficult thing to bring something faithfully into the modern era, especially something previously trapped on DOS, from a technical standpoint it is certainly impressive, from an artistic standpoint even more so to redraw and rerender everything by hand with such stunning accuracy.
It made it playable for me, so that's enough.
It was the only "Jedi Knight" I didn't finish (couldn't get past the first level).
I don't enjoy wrangling with DOS settings to get a mouse and music working, and the pixelation was quite heavy.
What broke the Battlefront Collection for me, was the missing mouse Y-axis inversion feature.
I've been PC gaming for almost 30 years and have never encountered this setting being missing.
Truly fascinating.
I found Jedi Knight 2 tough going on the Switch. Much prefer a keyboard and mouse to a Nintendo controller.
My first game involving Kyle Katarn lore was a demo of the Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith expansion.
8)🤟..then I played Jedi Academy from start to finish. I finally played Jedi Outcast. Never finished it though... :'(🙏
Edit - Speaking of which I used to think...why doesn't Lucasart make an RPG game like Kotor but during the new republic? There you used to have Luke, Mara Jade, Kyle...etc.
Are Kyle and Mara even a thing anymore?
🥀I don't think so :'(🙏

I've been reading the old Thrawn trilogy comics and had completely forgotten about old characters like Talon Karrde and General Bel Iblis.
And have somehow lost issue 5 of The Last Command. >:(

Anyone read the Thrawn Duology? I have the two books but haven't gotten around to them yet. I hear its almost as good as the trilogy, but a "clone of Thrawn" rings some warning bells. Then again, the original books had a clone of Luke called Luuke.

You mean Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future. Yes read them, barely remember what happened it was so long ago. I do remember Chewie had sod all to do, so when they started New Jedi Order with the next book, it wasn't a tough sell to knock him off.
I thought they were a clever way of bringing back Thrawn without actually bringing back Thrawn. There was a time when I thought that was how TROS was going to bring back Palpatine.
I'm almost finished with Dark Forces Remastered, it's just very fun to shoot stormtroopers in the face, and the fast-pace is great.
They made the perfect sequel in bringing Jedi powers into the series.

The remake has been in development hell. May Lord Revan rise!
I would be happy with just a HD remaster

Cautiously excited for Outlaws. Looks like it will be out this year too.
I miss the golden age of 90's Star Wars games.
Aren't most of them on Steam or consoles now?
Most are on Xbox, apart from the earlier flight simulators and Rogue Squadron titles.
I really want them to do the Rogue Squadron games on the Switch. Only ever played the first one.
I think the light saber fights are through some mod of Star Wars
'Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast'

What were some of your favs?
Favorites being:
- X-Wing Alliance - amazing game, with rich story-based missions, including flying the Millennium Falcon into the second Death Star in the end.
- Jedi Knight + Mysteries Of The Sith - giant levels, good story, with a light side vs dark side path.
- Shadows Of The Empire - Isn't actually the best game, but a few of the opening levels are great. Rogue Squadron is basically based on the first level.
These games are on Steam, but they don't run very well on modern systems.
SOTE runs the best, being re-released in 2016.
Jedi Knight runs the worst, and is screaming for a Nightdive Studios remaster.
Aside from the upcoming rts that was supposedly not cancelled ::)👍 , I had no idea about this canceled rts game. There is some footage 8)
Finally finished Shadows Of The Empire, after 27 years of planning (and trying) to do it.
There are no achievements for the game in Steam, but I give myself a Lifetime Achievement for this.
