The folk over at Focus Entertainment and Tindalos Interactive are getting on the Alien Day festivities! They’ve just announced that Aliens: Dark Descent is available for pre-order and to celebrate the occasion, a new trailer has been released!

The new trailer features a lot of new cinematic scenes we haven’t seen before, including some information about the game’s narrative and a much clearer look at Alien: Dark Descent’s mysterious Alien-esque humanoid enemy!

Alien: Dark Descent was recently shown off at PAX East and made a very good impression with the journalists who played it. The game is currently slated for release on the 20th of June and is now available for pre-order on Focus Entertainment’s website. Though none of the announcements have been highlighting it, early pre-order also comes with Lethe Recon Pack.

Purchase Aliens: Dark Descent to receive an exclusive black Armor Set for your squad of Colonial Marines and a unique feline companion to liven up the decks of the Otago.

Pretty good trailer
Has me a bit more excited for the story of the game than I was initially, with the cinematics and some of the dialogue.
Still really excited to play this!

It was a dark and stormy alien breach........

Great creepy atmosphere in that trailer. And it looks like....

is back once again!

I'm also wondering what the relationship between the Xenos and these new "cyborgs" is going to be, given that.....

....we see an Alien brush right past one and neither of them seem bothered by it.

I noticed that if you look at their chest it looks very much like there's a chestburster being kept in there.

Good catch! Maybe they're part of some "obligatory secret project" to infect people with chestbursters but then keep them in a state of suspended animation so that the Aliens won't attack the hosts or consider them a threat?

The guy's arms also look a bit "Alieny" too, which could perhaps be the result of having a chestburster inside him for a way longer amount of time than normal.

Cosmic Incubation

That's definitely the vibe I'm getting as well!
Not against it by any means.
Will be interesting to see how they play into the story.

Nightmare Asylum

Pretty into what I'm seeing here, gameplay wise. I think I'll end up giving this one a go.

Xenomorphine

Really not a fan of stuff which tries to include 'praetorian'/'crusher' silliness, but the rest still gives me some hope.

And they're definitely evoking a tiny bit of Space Jockey/Engineer imagery with that breathing apparatus, even if there isn't any literal connection there.

Quiet you just go seethe about the Isolation save point in Fede Alvarez's film.  :P

Called this one way back:

Quote from: Still Collating... on Jun 18, 2022, 06:25:01 PMThe human mutant enemies with the chest Stark reactor don't really feel like they fit in well with the EU, but if they get some nice story exploration, why not?

I'm very curious about these guys. Aesthetically speaking, they don't excite me too much, but functionally speaking I'm very content with Colonial Marines' Bugmen, or Pathogen mutants, so I'm curious to see what they're doing here and whether they work or not.

It keeps the chestbursters dormant.

That's a great catch! I'm really interested in that as a concept, actually. A lot of my fan stories I spin in my head revolve around things like this that let humans interact with the Aliens, so I'm really curious to see how it pans out. This aspect of the story was the thing I was most concerned with, but this angle I'm definitely interested in.

Indeed! It's a really nice visual touch.

This looks real interesting but I'm gutted it does not appear to be coming to switch. This is the sort of game I like to play handheld.
