Title: What was the worst?
Post by: Vader the White on Jul 04, 2007, 06:56:08 AM
It's simple, what is the worst Alien, Predator, or AVP game ever relased.

I really haven't experienced a truly broken Alien/Predator game, although I wasn't a fan of the first AVP for the PC and Alien3 for the game boy. I've heard horror stories from a Predator game back on the NES though.

Alien 3 for the Sega Genesis

Slow, repetitive, and frustrating.

The best thing about that game is the music in the first level. It's one of those classic genesis-era tracks. You can find an awesome speedrun for this game on youtube.

lol yup. My major gripe was with the graphics, they were so poor and repetitive I would get lost in the levels, eventually I gave up on the game. The only thing I liked about the game was a mode, I forgot what it was called, but you just have to fight off wave after wave of aliens. My hate towards the game is more in line with frustration rather than me thinking the game is broken.

Skirmish, you're thinking of skirmish. AvP was a great game, more Aliens than AvP2 ever was.

Tricky one for me. The ones I've played haven't been that bad but I would have to say Alien 3 for GameGear. It's too hard.

Alien vs Predator for the SNES is probably the best A/P game of the 16-bit era. You gotta give Predator 2 for Genesis a try. It's so bizzare you'll chuckle most of the time you play it. Alien3 is worth a try for the SNES, not so much the Genesis.

Well, from the ones I'VE played, which would only be about......2...... They were pretty good, so, I cant really say since I haven't played the others.

From my experience, Predator for the NES.

Quotemore Aliens than AvP2 ever was.

Nah not really.  Although it tried to make the levels almost identicle to Hadley's Hope, you literally wake up and it's "THE SHIT HAS HIT THE FAN!  HOLY f**k LOOK OUT ALIENS ARE EVERYWHERE!!!!111onehundredeleven"  AvP2 had a much slower introduction to build tention and attempted to recreate the atmosphere.

AvP2's interactivity is what did it for me.  In AvP1, you never had the option of using Harrison to unleash a multitude of facehuggers on a company security team.

Both were still good games, but I still prefer the second.  The first did have a better atmosphere and was more intense.  AvP2 was just more interesting.

Probably the worst one I played was PCJ.  The gameplay is average, but the story is freaking ridiculous.  Porn star assassins?  Come on.

It makes the story of DOTS seem appealing.

Extinction was repetitive, but it was still way better than anything in PCJ.

Predator 2 for the sega (I forgot which system was it on).

They wern't really porn stars...

But yeah CJ's storyline is silly.
Predator blood makes a baby live for 100 years+ and have super strength? Yeah... right.
Although i did like the backstory with MOTHER and weyland and yutani.

I'm pretty sure they WERE pornstars.  The people not involved in her merc service had seen movies of whatever the chicks name was.  Plus she acted like a slut in every single one of her cutscenes.

I suppose in the future they could've edited some kind of way.........but yeah.  Even if they weren't, the fact that they acted like it is still silly as hell.

After you knock out their suits she acts professionally though.

::) The game didn't come up with that idea.

Doesn't make the game any less retarded for using it though.

Doesn't mean it wasn't stupid.
Honestly... That was the worst idea i've ever heard. Getting splashed with predator blood makes you live for centuries, have superstrength, roar and have green blood? Sillyness.

For me it was Predator concrete jungle, the gameplay is fun but the story is just ultimately crap, and me and my friend waited a year and a half for that game.

Alien Resurrection was also bad, i was to hard (I can never beat the first level  :-[) .

Use cheats then.

I think ARes is a good game, and one of the scariest ps games ever made.  The ONLY thing I would change is the footfall sound (it gets really, really grating after awhile), and the lack of a run option.

The rest is good, even if it is hard as hell.  I literally had to learn every enemy position before I could beat the game.

Then I used cheats.

Alien resurrection is a cool game but very difficult, I might try and bet it soon without cheats.

Probably most of the ones for nintendo and sega were the worst because of poor graphics and sound. At the time it was probably the greatest thing ever.

It was pretty scary but I thought it was glitchy maybe it was just my disc, plus I wanted it to be in 3rd person. Its not bad of a game

I mean it does have its faults.  Its control scheme really takes some getting used too, you basically need to memorize alien appearances to beat the game without cheats, and its hard as hell even when you do that.  Not to mention there same walking noise is excruciatingly irritating, and you move at a snails pace.

Thats why I can only stomach a playthrough every once in a bluemoon.

Lol..  Me too, I couldn't stand playing that game.. It was slightly better on SNES... If you've played either recently..DAYUM they suck.  Alien 3 FTL.

Hey at the time it came out I was like ten.  And the aliens were actually fast in that game.

So I'd be watching the motion tracker, and this little blip would be coming at ninety miles per hour, and when you look back at the screen, blam, the alien is right there.

To much for me to handle at the time.......

AvP for Game Boy is horrible.  Just horrible.
