Part 1 hasn't been released and they're already going for a trilogy.

Aside from that The Exorcist movies were a product of their time.
More religious people, more superstition, less information available,...
And there weren't that many exorcism movies. Now there's a bunch and I can't imagine these remakes not being more of the same.
Also: Blumhouse.

I'd be more interested if they were sequels following on from 3.

Since we've got an Exorcist sequel on the horizon we decided to go back and take a look at the two failed Exorcist prequels. We do talk a little of this soft reboot in the episode.

The packed house at my IMAX Oppenheimer screening laughed at the trailer for this.

Speaking of the Exorcist, Linda Blair was hot in other movies...some pretty bad ones...but look at her!

I think that looks decent enough, I'm really waiting this movie but... I can barely remember any truly excellent horror movie since the first  Conjuring film back in 2013 so I don't put my expectations very high of this

I've grown tired of horror movies. I've watched probably over a thousand and at some point you just don't care much anymore.

Nightmare Asylum

Saw the trailer for this before Talk to Me today. I'm saying this as someone that genuinely likes the David Gordon Green Halloween movies (and finds that that trilogy actually got better with each installment, peaking with Ends).... holy crap this looks terrible.

The trailer makes it look like an odd remake of Prisoners at first.

Looks like evil dies tonight to me honestly.

As in the middle one was substantially worse than the other two, and the last one had narratice issues despite being interesting, this just looks on par with that middle one really.
