How come in Prometheus the crews suits and technology are more advanced then they were in Alien? Is there an explanation for this given in the movie? If their isn't share your thoughts and theories below  :)

Prometheus was a top of range exploration expedition. Nostromo is a rustbucket tug boat. Doesn't need the best of the best.

Yeah, this doesn't bother me. I've worked in various labs, some of which look like they haven't changed since the 1950s and others which look futuristic even to me. So, I have no issue with some vessels having the newest spunkiest kit, and others having tat even decades later.

This is the least of the film's problems.

Yes I think it still fits. Perhaps in the future there will be a variety of different space technology, as we see today there are still cars around from 50 years ago.

Thank you, makes perfect sense they got all the hand me down survival gear.
