Probably has to do with real-life differences in what worked for the movie, not in-movie ones.. But that's just my speculation.

I'll be honest I haven't seen Alien in a long time I honestly don't know if the Space Engineer from Alien is the same on from Prometheus.

In NGR01 defense he was right about the murals and ampules being affected after they enter the room. I don't understand however the thing about the worms. why would they bring worms from earth? from i saw in the spoilers seems like that black goo that comes of the top of the ampules already has some small warms in it, wich grow later
