Big whoop 3 cast members killed out of what a cast of 19, you got to be joking!! Ugh!!

We know 6-8 of the main cast which is what counts.

Speaking sense here - the music makes it clear that it's all about David, and it gets the conventional aspects over and done with.

Only excitement from here!

This looks like a pre-sequel that fits, and its ironic that the trailer seems to be a reaction to the confusion that Prometheus delivered - most people who watch this will want what an Alien franchise should deliver; scares thrills and a bodycount - doesn't mean that Ridley will be holding back on more mysteries, - but he's figured that, in the short term, mystery in the trailer doesn't put bums on seats on the opening weekend, but hey, once you're there popcorn in trembling hand, he can deliver his mysteries in his own sweet time.

I'm all for this, can't wait to see what happens in May.

Doesn't mean we want to know how and when people get killed. Crudup is the THIRD billed cast member and we saw him get facehugged lol.

Doesn't mean he'll be dead - David may have means to vaccinate him from an incubating egg, or a way to remove it.

Re-itterating that we can disagree with others sentiments without taking to insulting them. No need for it at all. Hicks.

Right so not every death has been spoiled.

Very true... Most people going into the cinema to see Alien first time around knew what was going to happen to John Hurt's character. If anything, that awareness of basic plot points/scenes only increased the suspense/anticipation. I think this is what we're getting here...

Even after adjusting for inflation, Prometheus has the highest opening weekend box office of the entire Alien franchise, as well as the highest foreign totals. Less impressively, it has the third-highest domestic total box office.

Adjusted for inflation in 2015 dollars, the opening weekends of the Alien films:

Alien (91 theater limited release): $11,614,066
Alien (635 theater wide release): $17,490,640
Aliens (1,437 theaters): $21,904,374
Alien 3 (2,227 theaters): $33,149,414
Alien Resurrection (2,415 theaters): $24,745,377
AVP* (3,395 theaters): $48,678,488
AVPR (2,611 theaters): $11,737,493
Prometheus (3,396 theaters): $53,976,822

The domestic box office totals for the Alien franchise:

Alien: $266,433,969
Aliens: $185,572,437
Alien 3: $94,546,433
Alien Resurrection: $71,792,825
AVP: $102,060,848
AVPR: $48,769,468
Prometheus: $133,728,062

Finally, the adjusted 2015 foreign grosses for the Alien franchise:

Alien: $79,009,921
Aliens: $100,020,550
Alien 3: $177,833,686
Alien Resurrection: $170,606,681
AVP: $117,290,975
AVPR: $101,614,968
Prometheus: $292,750,868

Nope just Rigby's. And Seimetz'. And Ejogo's. And Crudup's. And Hernandez's. And Smollett's. And McBride didn't look too good in one part. And we saw that BTS pic of Bichir getting face molded.

Don't kid yourself.

Prometheus had the most clout behind it since Aliens though. Anticipation was fever pitch, it was Ridley Scott's first sci-fi since Blade Runner, it's connections to Alien at release were LOOSE therefor it didn't suffer from franchise fatigue, I'm taking a guess but I'm pretty sure it had the most expensive marketing campaign of all the films. So it's harder to measure it's "success" against the other movies.

Besides, I imagine Fox have done their research. They're backing Alien the brand over Prometheus the brand.

Yeah. Even in this trailer Scott doesn't take prisoners. People die? Who cares! It's an Alien movie and characters are disposable :)

Those are not main characters. In Alien movies you got 2-3 main characters. Excluding David (main antagonist) in my opinion those are: Walter, Waterston and McBride. That's all. The rest is expendable.

It also cost the most to make and market. Thus Alien and Aliens can still be considered more successful.

BishopShouldGo

Lol of course people die, but you don't want to know how or when.

And those are main characters. This is an ensemble. Crudup is billed third lol. And of course Fassbender and Waterston will live.

Which Fassbender? David or Walter? :)

BishopShouldGo

I'm just guessing but probably David. David is the iconic one lol.

I just wish a couple more side characters would live a'la Aliens and Alien: Resurrection and AVPR.

i am still loving the trailor. .cause i know now that their is gonna be extreme violence and tention and gore and awesome cinemarography and decent acting. . And great fx. . Including the xeno tail . .the only complaint that i feel holds some ground is the spoiled deaths of those characters. . . I personally don't really mind knowing. . .. . But i can understand that their is people who don't wanne be spoiled . .
