The fact that you put AvP 2004 as your number 5

It is not a bad film really. It was a geeky fan service, there is not much else you can do with it if you want people to play a part in it.

Actually Kradan really feels that way, prefers them to Stan Winston's.

I remember when a small predalien creature burst through a crabator's chest, killing the crabator.

I definitely would have to go with Alien (1979) the film has amazing atmosphere and the  creature effects are outstanding. I also absolutely love the chemistry between all of the characters they feel like real people and not just some script. Not to say Aliens isn't as amazing as the first but the first movie just got so much right between the claustrophobic tension built in those small isolated corridors. and by far my favorite scene is the death (or capture if you watch the directors cut) of Captain Dallas. That scene still scares me to this day. Although Aliens does bring alot to the tables, with its memorable quotes and amazing set pieces and just overwhelming tension brought by the fact that so many xenos are on screen really brings both of these films as high masterpieces to say the least.

Predator is also amazing I really love the first one but two is good too.

Thats a design issue if one has one, not an actual story flaw. While AVP has its share of flaws, especially in the second half, I always praise it for setting, good cinematography and buildup

I watch it every winter along with The Thing

If I had to have just three movies and the rest had to be deleted forever, I'd keep Alien, Aliens and Predator.

1.Alien /Aliens (phenomenal)
2.Alien 3 (very good in its own way)
3.Alien Covenant (good)
4.Alien Resurrection/Prometheus (good)
5.Predator/Predator 2 (very good /good)
6.AVP (its fun to watch, not to be taken too seriously)
7.Prey (ok,enjoiable)
8.AVP2-R (kind of shit, but if you turn off your brain you can enjoy it/not to be taken too seriously)
9.Predators (not implemented very well, could have been much better)
10.The Predator (very bad...no brain to switch off)

(this is just my personal list and shows how important these films are to me)
