The Toronto International Film Festival will play host to The Predator’s world premiere! One of seven world premieres scheduled to take place, it has just been announced that The Predator will open the Film Festival’s “Midnight Madness” event!

"This year's Midnight Madness slate promises another idiosyncratic confluence of established and emerging genre filmmakers," said Peter Kuplowsky, Midnight Madness Programmer. "To complement some of the buzziest provocations on the festival circuit, I have sought to curate an eccentric array of World Premieres that demonstrate the dexterity of genre cinema as a canvas for both sublime satisfaction and stunning subversion. That includes the section's two much-anticipated sequels, The Predator and Halloween, each of which boldly and brilliantly builds upon its mythic iconography to thrilling and surprising effect."

The Predator To Premiere at Toronto International Film Festival!

The Toronto International Film Festival begins on the 6th of September and runs through until the 16th. The exact date of the premiere and further details are still be announced. Tickets for the festival are currently available for purchase. The Predator will open on September 12th in the UK and then 2 days later on the 14th in the States.

But that's a decent amount of time, no?  101 minutes seems to be respectable.

Super bummed that I won't be able to make it to the theaters the weekend it opens. Ugh  >:(

Super happy about the 101 minutes. Honestly im tired of every film being 2+ hours.

I was hoping for more timing (115-120 minutes)... 30 - 45 minutes cut   :-\

Predator (1987) - 107 min / 01:47

Predator 2 (1990) - 108 min. / 01:48

Predators (2010) - 107 min / 01:47

The Predator (2018) - 101 min / 1:41

I remember an interview way back where Black said the film will be longer than the previous entries... I guess changes over the course of the production shortened the film, but it's nor a bad or a good thing IMO. We'll just have to see the final movie.

Johnny Handsome

Well... it's ok, it's still a bit on the short side though. Including credits, we'll probably ending up with 90 minutes.

I'm just hungry as hell, this could have been 2 1/2 hours for me, but as long as the movie doesn't feel rushed i'm ok.

See it!!
Awesome!!

Seconded. Even a really good movie is hard to sit through for that long, personally.

Yes, I think if they had kept all the hybrid stuff, certain characters, multiple dogs, etc. it would have probably been the length that Black suggested.

I am sad, too. :'(
No time for character development.
This cc. 90 minutes (without credits) is a complete rush...no tension, just action all the time.
Just...meh. :(

but the first two movies were only few minutes longer, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

BigDaddyJohn

Now that i think of it, i would've gone with 10 more minutes, probably better for character development/dialogue, which is a Shane Black strength obviously, but we'll see... A few more minutes in terms of a movie pacing can be crucial.

skull-splitter

I expected around the 95-115 mark, but wouldn't mind a 120+ film.

BishopShouldGo

So only 95 minutes if that includes credits. :(
