Yep, I found it. Then the Narcissus must be a later-generation model as described in the RPG. Thing is, the Wey-Yu Report specifies two, while Out of the Shadows is wrong in either case.

EDIT-ME-DO: The Wey-Yu Report says that the Narcissus could support two crewmembers in cryosleep for extended periods of time. So maybe the bed couldn't? I dunno.

Clearly.

The film says two, never mind other secondary sources.  If it could take three, they wouldn't need coolant and Parker and Lambert would have lived.

If there needs to be an explanation, the simplest is that there are three on the blueprint and the third was simply never installed.

Ridley now needs to do another special edition and CG an 'Out of order' sign hanging off it.

It wasn't a cryobed.
It was THE lovin' bed  ;) I mean all that time in space - people get bored.

Discounting AVP and everything below tier 2

Weyland-Yutani report is now the furthest thing chronologically in the alien franchise

What's "tier 2"?

Canon level. Tier 1 is "definitive and authorized canon" such as the films.

Tier 2 includes content that's canon for the moment, i.e. the current novel run, the RPG, and games such as Fireteam Elite.

Just more RPG gobbledygook.

Quite.

What constitutes "current"?  Sea of Sorrows is way beyond WYR in terms of timeframe.

Sea of Sorrows and the original Titan trilogy land in "Tier 3" likely because they connect to AVP Rage War and AVP Fire & Stone (those damn Predators!)

Not sure what's wrong with a Tier system in regards to an ever evolving Canon? Star Wars has literally been doing it for decades with Leland Chee. It's a really inclusive way to acknowledge the vast array of stories in the franchise if you ask me.

And technically "Phalanx" is the farthest out (shout out to you for reaching out to Scott Sigler and getting that whole timeline mapped out!)

When I was working with Fox (which was a while back now so I'm guessing no longer current), SoS wasn't demoted due to links with Rage War. Rage War was just ignored.

Would Phalanx get ditched because Sigler wrote an AvP follow up?
