9 months of filming?  :o

Looking forward to it!

Come to think of it, it's technically only 8 months since they took a month break after Scott finished the first two episodes. Scott works the film crews quite hard.

Finally! And I hope that the show will - to quote Abubakar Salimas - blow our f**king mind.

Praise Sol must be the part of the plot then.

The "this absolute madness" quote from Ethan Hazzard also sounds promising. Sounds like they gave Riddles complete free reign to come up with some crazy shit!

I see HBO and Warner is also involved with this production according to him.

So Luke Scott's doing two episodes, right? Personally I'm a little worried, I wasn't too impressed by his Last Supper video for Covenant. I don't think I've seen anything else he did though. Would've been great if Ridley did the whole thing, although I guess that might've been too much, even for him.  How do you guys feel about Luke?

I'm cautious, but I massively enjoyed Happy Birthday David, Peter Weyland TED Talk, Introducing Walter and Nowhere to Run, so the guy's good at times certainly.

Evanus

Yeah, those were all pretty good. I see he was also a second unit director on Covenant, The Martian and Exodus. That does comfort me a little! I wonder who else directed episodes for RBW.

Immortan Jonesy

I've enjoyed Luke Scott's Morgan. I'm a huge fan of Anya Taylor-Joy and Kate Mara though, so don't trust me

This pretty much confirms Luke's involvement:

Though it looks like he directed the last two episodes, not 3&4 as I originally thought.

James Hawes according to IMDb (one episode)

It looks almost like an @ symbol on a red sun. Maybe they'll do some kind of viral marketing campaign using that slogan?

My guess is Scott will probably film Raised by Wolves at Cape Town Film Studios (Mad Max: Fury Road, Dredd etc.). Though he should really do the location shooting in Namibia if he wants real otherworldly/alien planet type scenery.

Anyway, the regular updates in this thread will now come to an end since filming wrapped. Now we'll have to wait for the teaser/trailer.  ;D

Alex Gabassi (The Frankenstein Chronicles 2, The ABC Murders) confirmed as director of 2 episodes of Raised by Wolves.

Jon Kuyper on producing 'Mad Max: Fury Road', Ridley Scott series 'Raised By Wolves'

QuoteDuring his seven years as an in-house producer at Warner Bros, Kuyper supervised production on big-budget studio movies including George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road, Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsy and Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy.

(...)On a completely different tack, Kuyper is currently producing his first TV series, Scott's 10-part Raised By Wolves, about androids raising human children on a mysterious planet. "For the scheduling we had ten hours that we broke up into five blocks," Kuyper explained. "Ridley Scott directed the first two episodes, the second block was his son Luke Scott – it was almost like doing a feature film every five weeks.

"I would be prepping with the next director while the current director was shooting, which was very different for me as a producer because I'm used to working with one director and being with that director in all phases of production – pre-production and planning; during the shoot, solving problems on set and giving encouragement, and then in early post I usually hand it over. Now I was dealing with one director who was shooting, one prepping and another director giving notes on the script."

Yeah, it's pretty much as we had it figured. But confusingly, I initially thought it was Luke who directed the second block but then I saw his name on the clapperboard for episode 10 which falls into block 5. But now Kuyper is saying Luke did direct the second block??  ???

Unless Luke came back again for the last three episodes since there is still three episodes (one-and-a-half "blocks") unaccounted for.

QuoteRidley Scott's 'Raised by Wolves' Sci-Fi Series Moves From TNT To HBO Max

Raised by Wolves, a serialized sci-fi series from Ridley Scott, will premiere on the direct-to-consumer platform HBO Max. The announcement was made during the WarnerMedia Day investor presentation Tuesday afternoon.

"As we strive to set a high creative bar for HBO Max, there's no better person to set that bar than Ridley Scott as he delivers his first season of yet another incredible vision realized," said Kevin Reilly, chief content officer, HBO Max and president TBS, TNT, and truTV.

"The breathtaking worlds, compelling characters and intricate storylines that Ridley, Aaron and team have created for this project are mesmerizing," said Aubrey.

Spoiler
A short clip from the show that played at a WarnerMedia investor relations event Tuesday showed a bleak and desolate planet, where a woman can be seen with a newborn and then several children.

She expresses concern that people -- believing androids shouldn't be raising human children -- will take them away. There are shots of fight scenes as people come to rescue the kids, to which their android protector says: "You are all my children. I'm only here to protect you."
