Even though he's fleshed out in the books, there's pretty much nothing going for him, so it makes little sense to make him the lead in this. Poor writing aside, I think I would've like this a lot more if the Chief wasn't the lead.. maybe a totally different spartan or a marine or something else? Chief only works in the games imo. Other than that, I found it derivative of better sci Fi shit in general.
