The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

still awesome!

What that movie needs is a few good taters.

What is taters, precious?

Why is it that I thought Huggs wrote this?

Probably because he's said "taters" more often.

MIB International.

Great cast with a truly diabolical script and direction.

Probably because he's said "taters" more often.

Only because he can't spell.

"I love the Termintater!"
"What a tater to his country!"
"See you tater!"

Uncut Gems
I lasted 10 mins ... and turned it off. Not because I don't like Adam Sandler (I do) but I found the dialogue incoherent. Rambling multiple conversations with people talking over each other... need to give this another go me thinks.

I used to watch that all the time on VHS when I was a kid. Can't remember much about it though. Need to pick it up sometime.

Color Out Of Space (2019)
There was greatness to it but as a whole it was a bit disappointing. Especially compared to the original story.

Spoiler
The teenage daughter with her Wiccan magic, fake Necronomicon and rituals was quite cringe.

I'm still looking forward to Stanley's next adaptation, but with lower expectations this time.

When it comes to adapting HPL, I think the best way is probably a direct adaptation or as directly as possible. Or else a loose adaptation with a title that's different enough from the original. Like Dan O' Bannon did with The Resurrected.

"It was the best I could ad-lib at the time."
"Thanks, that even makes it worse."

"Lieutenant, in the next 15 minutes we have to create enough confusion to get out of here alive."

"Major, right now you got me about as confused as I ever hope to be."

The first time I saw it that scene had me in stitches. The way Burton completely reworks the plot of the movie about five times in as many minutes without even breaking a sweat

And then he does it again right at the end.
