*Sigh* If only i could write it off as non-canon......

Sometimes I get the feeling that Ridley always intended David to be an Engineer.

Maybe the Predator's weapon division hired him to steal the Alien blueprint from his jockey world. Kinda like Jurassic Park but this time it's Aliens.

Edit:

Something like that. Out there be monsters? Or something to that effect. I've only read it the once. That was enough.

I think it's OTBD Out There Be Demons. For a corporate espionage thriller the book was fine but for an Alien novel it was questionable.

Indeed, so much so I wonder how he even fits in this crowd.

Well, I have to run. I have more Gorton's Fisherman gifs to create.

Quote from: Eric GoldmanLandgraf says Hawley's Alien is "very grounded" and he is keeping in mind there's a cinematic universe and aesthetic established by Ridley Scott and James Cameron. Ridley Scott is involved. There's an inventiveness that is "uniquely Noah" but it feels like a part of Alien. #TCA21

A 2023 debut is right on the money with what I expected, once Hawley cited a probable Spring 2022 production start in that last interview.

Don't like the "Cinematic Universe" terminology being applied here (unless it happens to mean that we're going to get both this and a third prequel film from Ridley in development concurrently ;) ) but I guess that's the way of the world we live in, the way the studios see their "brands" now...

Anyways, looking forward to seeing what comes of this and hoping that Hawley has something unique and interesting up his sleeve!

Yeah, sounds a bit bullshitty when applied to Alien

I expect it's just one of those ways of saying "don't worry, it fits in with the films" more than anything else.

  • "I have optimism that that show may well roll out in 2023," he said. "It will probably roll out 2023, but we want to get it right."

Egad! I had predicted 2023, but 2024 doesn't sound out of the question here.
