That's one of the things I love so much about Alex's book. Life isn't black and white, it's grey. Alex's books feel so damn authentic. And there's often moments in there I just identity with so much.

There are times when you think it is going to get political but then White kind of turns it on its head with a counterpoint. 

I'd say it is slightly left leaning but not super left that it is unreadable.

No. 

There are "good" and "bad" guys on both sides of the conflict.

Finished it!!! Wow. Take a bow Alex. Fantastic story telling yet again.

And whilst I must admit it took me a while to accept the leap around Marsalis' new transformed Queen existence, I just felt the characters were so brilliant and I became totally invested in all of them. Duncan was a great antagonist and whilst not as loathsome as Sudler, she sure was memorable.
