Ive got a HD TV and  DVD with HDMI lead and upscalling .. will make a  difference if i palyed HD DVD's on it?

Unless you have an actual HD-DVD player you can't play HD-DVDs.  However, if you have an HDTV and an upscaling DVD player with the HDMI lead.. you will get a very nice picture on standard DVDs.  If you have a 360, you can get a HD-DVD add-on for $169 now and 8 free HD-DVDs.  Pretty screamin deal.

i am realy dissapointed that the movie has none of the special features the dvd version has although hopefully they will bring it out with the special featrues

I'd hold off on buying Blu-Ray stuff after lastweek's news about Paramount and Dreamworks dropping Blu-Ray support in favor of HD-DVD.  There is also a rumor Warner is going to do the same next... if that happens, Fox may end up releasing movies on HD-DVD as well and you might end up with a better, newer version of AvP in HD.  For now, I am holding out.. I don't wanna buy the same movie twice.

I've got a PS3, a HDMI lead (I think it came with it)... I just need a HD TV now ;D

No point in that Blu-Ray player you paid for you lol   :D.. Blu-Ray = Only for HDTV, otherwise it looks like a regular DVD.

Haha! Well actually it's my bro's PS3, but we'll keep quiet about that :P He received Casino Royale on blu-ray for free because he registered his PS3 online... and even on a standard TV i thin the quality was a little bit better than DVD. But I'd love to get a HD tv and see it all properly. Do regular DVDs look any good on a HD tv?

With a regular DVD player no.. and I have heard that the PS3 upscaling isn't so hot.  Your best bet would be to buy a $70 upscaling DVD player, then yes.. DVDs look pretty amazing on an HDTV when upscaled to 720p.  Not as good as HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, but much better than on a SDTV.

The Trivia track is a cool feature and the quality on an HD tv is awesome played through a PS3 with a HDMI lead roll on blu-ray of all the alien franchise :)

That had to be the longest run-on sentence, cause I could not understand what you were saying  the last bit from HDMI on.. :P

My computer plays hd-dvd and blu-ray. I lost the sound on my computer for a day and refused to watch my movies in "normal" mode. I only watch my movies in HD. I have a 22 inch wide screen HD-LCD 1080i computer monitor. The difference is night and day. The best movie as far as picture clarity has been SILENT HILL. Everytime I watch it it looks as though I can reach into the screen and touch the characters.
To better explain the difference is like this: Compare the graphics of the 1st Playstation to the Playstaion 3. That the difference. Its not just the picture quailty either. The sound is just a good.
