Spoilers don’t come any bigger than this and it’s totally unexpected. Yahoo Movies have got the first five minutes of AvPR available to watch online!
This shows what happens to the hybrid on the Predator ship, how the ship crashed onto Earth, as well as what happens to the hunter and his son in the forest. There’s a scene at the end with the Predator homeworld too. That’s where Wolf comes from. This clip has also been edited down so in the movie, it’ll be longer than five minutes.

really impressive- I think this isnt quite the first 5 mins...some of the editing would suggest its been condensed, but still...the music really adds to the visuals. tylers done a great job....not enough to judge the strauses on yet, but wolf is looking fairly iimpressive sans-mask too.

I'll just say that everyone seems to be quite excited for a movie that from this clip and everything else we've seen is just as terrible as AVP. I am curious though; why are you guys excited? Now THAT's what I'm talking about!! Friggin' superb!!!! As i've said elsewhere - the inclusion of the P1 music sent chills through me. I've watched it 5 times already - does not give away anything we already don't know, and I'm just REALLY grateful this got released ahead of time ..... I mean ..... it's not like I can press "rewind" in the cinema for every frame that looks cool - but I could on THIS! This rocks - PERIOD!

Awesome! Great combo of the Aliens and Predator soundtrack. The music gave me chills. Wolf looked great. He acted and moved like a Predator should. Looking forward to this. If they can make it interesting for 93 minutes and just give me a lot of fun then I will thank the Strause Bros. for giving me back a feeling I lost with Predator 2 and Alien 4/AvP. Can't wait for complete movie.

Sonny Jim let me tell you something, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it. AvP was a kiddies movies that Fox and Paul Anderson wanted to tailor to the under 15 audience, AvPR is tailored to all the adults everywhere who have either read the comics, played the games and know the Aliens and Pred universe inside out. It's been stated that this clip is edited so obviously you wont see the whole intro until you see the movie. Gore isn't what makes a movie it is just a tool that combines all the elements of a good avp movie, so no it is not a crap fest.

That's just a temp score right? I mean, each movie so far has had a unique soundtrack. As effective as those cues are for long-time fans, it's a shame not to let this film have its own musical language. Otherwise, what'd they hire a composer for? Yes, I'm quite sure this is a temp score.

Im not sure but...because of the editing I think for the sake of this preview that they just put in music parts from all the other movies. Dont count on the score sounding like that at all. The only part that seemes like it was Tylers was the beginning.

I'm all for an Alien Vs. Predator movie. Hell, I'm one of the biggest advocates for a crossover. But only if its done right. Only if the creatures designs are top notch. Only if the story is above and beyond. Only if both sides are showed proper respect. And only if it is epic. Your absolutely right hicks, gore does not make a movie. I'm completely with you on that. You can have an absolutely amazing movie with no gore whatsoever. And you can have an amazing movie with gore dripping from every square inch of every wall. This AVP franchise though, even AVPR, seems to be simply a watered down version of what it could be. The predators are shadows of their former selfs. And the aliens are neither creepy nor scarey anymore. I just feel like 20th needs to stop with it. Let some time pass. Than make the Alien Vs Predator film that could be and that fans so richly deserve.

The stile for the most part is good. But the Strause Bros. REALLY strayed away from the Alien franchises' roots. I mean, in the first Alien film, the second, or the third, or even the fourth (the most violent of them all), you didn't see anyones arm being melted off by acid. I think the bros. have strayed far from what Alien created. This film will be the final nail in the coffin for both franchises if they add excessive gore. IT'll look like the texas chainsaw massacre. For some reason, you guys seem to think that gore is going to make, and enhance this movie, but you guys are very wrong. Shame on all of you. The Bros are distorting what the original Alien films did, and you guys are lapping it up... >:(

assf my man ??? what the brothers have done is strengthen the feel and respect both roots. Both spieces are volitile and feral and so it would be expected to see a greater deal of gore ( not that it sells) BUT it places a more serous nature to the movie, I bet that you get at least one person that will turn their head at a particular site. This movie ISN'T an Alien movie ... This movie ISN'T a Predator movie ... This movie IS a Alien AND Predator movie so it won't follow a particular root, THIS movie will stand on its own. Very impressed. Great to see Wolf suiting up with the old Predator music. I liked the glimpses of the Predalien scenes, it looks better in the film than we've seen previously.

theres a mistake,no glowing blood on chest burster, and predator r both seen on infared and alien vision, when the predator switch vision, the other predator was not seen...........and y is there only 3 predator

Not as great as i thought it would be, a bit too computer gamey for me! But it looks way better than AVP at least its more about the predator's and aliens, rather than humans, The predators in the ship look like men in suits the way they walk etc, it was good to see the clip, a bit too many spoilers for me tho :( But im still looking forward to this film, im just hoping the full product will be alot better, 7/10 :D

Interesting. The title should be eariler, but, this looks like a trailer at the end, so the title could be in a different location. I love the score and I think Brian did a good job. Actually, there is a forum for movie scores (mainly John Williams who did every Spielburg film and every Star Wars, the first three HP movies, and a whole bunch of other stuff) and they are prasing the score since the myspace clip (and these people usally hate Brian Tyler's scores, even though I think his stuff is pretty good). The style is interesting, but nice and I LOVE the Pred homeworld. Kinda reminds me of Geonosis when you look from Space. Ouch, that guy got his arm burnt off, even though Hudson had a simular injury (except the acid landed on bare skin in Hudson's case) and only suffered a minor burn. I believe, but I could be wrong. So, please post if I'm wrong and also PM me. Only a few Problems: HOW THE F*** DID THE PREDALIEN GROW SO FAST! Was the dying pred trying to blow up the ship, or did he send the footage to Wolf? Other wise, this is pretty good. I can't wait for this movie. Oh, why are people bad mouthing the act of putting the first five mins? It could be worse and doesn't give us too many spoilers. Heck, I accidently read the first few paragraphs of Deathly Hallows, but nothing that spoiled the book.

Ha, I so called the Predator leaving his homeworld at the beginning of the movie the other day! And someone here shot me down... None the less, the movie clip is obviously not as long as it will be in the movie. The flow in several places feels slightly awkward suggesting that they Bothers edited out a good portion of the scene. I think the feeling of this beginning sequence is much much better then AVP. Only complaint is the guys arm falling off. That was a bit extreme. But oh well, the rest seems pretty bad assed. Its at least lifted some of my previous doubts.

The dramatic lighting for me, thats what I feel will make the difference compared to the first movie. The brothers have a handle on exactly how to execute good effects, and thats important to any film.

I would like to echo Ancientpred's sentiment but in all fairness AncientPred, we're not going to get what we want straight away just because we demand it. It just doesn't work that way. As I've said before whether we like this movie or not,we should all go to help make it the success financially it needs to be in order to justify another movie with a bigger budget. awesome first 5 min. but i feel this is a bold & risky move by fox and god knows i hope they will deliver a great movie. upside they want to deliver 4 the fans and erase some of the bad karma brought on by the first film , down side they are really tring to sell a piece of crap with cool effects but this is the bros. first film and i really doubt they are going to deliver a piece of crap seeing how this movie could make or break them as film directors but after seeing this i have faith this will be a great movie

you know Weyland Yutani had to figure out about the alien at some prior event before they sent the nostromo off to the planet to get one... maybe this is the event that they first discovered the alien... who knows... if you actually think there are tons of ways this could be canon to the alien films.

overall, Im pleased , the atmosphere and lighting already seems better. my only concerns: like a few others mentioned, the growth rate of the hybrid which I assume like most is from the edited down version. second , while not that big of a deal, is the acting of the kid during the attack on his father, I mean c'mon hes hearing his father in agony and not saying anything or even acting scared then he actually sees his fathers arm fall off for gods sake and doesnt even flinch as if he see peoples arms fall of daily. only when the facehugger leaches his fathers face does he then actualy seem startled lol. did it seem like this to anyone else?

AvP was a kiddies movies that Fox and Paul Anderson wanted to tailor to the under 15 audience, AvPR is tailored to all the adults everywhere who have either read the comics, played the games and know the Aliens and Pred universe inside out. It's been stated that this clip is edited so obviously you wont see the whole intro until you see the movie. Gore isn't what makes a movie it is just a tool that combines all the elements of a good avp movie, so no it is not a crap fest. Um, that's wrong actually. Anderson never intended for his film to be released as the final cut it turned out to be and he didn't intend on going light on the gore either. There were an astonoshing amount of great scenes that were not completed, never shot, as well as scenes that were edited. Ultimately, it's all thanks to Fox's meddling. ::) Bastards. >:( Anderson's original plan for AVP was actually quite impressive. Now, Fox has finally come to realize what kind of rabid fan base Alien, Predator, and AVP truly has. lol Still, imho, the first AVP did kick serious ass and everyone I personally know really enjoyed it.m It'd be awesome if Fox cut Anderson loose and let him revamp the first film into a Director's Cut.

I can't believe how much of this film they're showing before it's release. :o Still, I couldn't resist watching it... a few dozen times. :D It's proving to be fantastically done. The Strause Bros. have nailed that gritty, real world tone of the first Alien & Predator films and to top it off, they've implemented some of the best scores of the Alien & Predator films (much to my relief). Awesome stuff. The only thing that still has me seriously concerned, the most important aspect of the film, is the Alien & Predator element. :-\ So far, despite the film appearing to be extremely well done, it's looking more like predator fan service what with all the details, clips and behind the scenes info that's been divulged already. I hope to god they haven't skewed both creatures as bad as they appear to have. Well, 12/25 isn't that far off. We'll just have to wait until then to truly find out. ;)

@ warchant-D could be cause the kid was frightened or was in shock, but then again the kid wouldn't be moving so much if he was in shock. the kid should of been crying at the arm falling off part, I agree. Though when the facehugger attached on the dad's face, a kid that young would not be going over to take it off anyways, he would be frightened.

I have to say that I was quite impressed with the ship redesign, and the look and feel of everything. The cut between the chestburster scene and the Predalien tail are obviously not directly after one another, and there's a passage of time somewhere in there. Not to mention the sound that the Predalien makes is spectacular. As for the commentary about it being overly Predator fan oriented- you have to realise that most of the good Alien action won't get to build up until they get a and build a good foothold among the humans and grow their numbers. Also- I'm happy to finally see that acidic blood that can melt through several floors of metal can finally eat through flesh in a realistically equal manner. The first look at the Predator homeworld was brilliant, and has a good feel to it, and I loved the sense that Wolf has a large arsenal at his disposal. I have to agree with Bio Mech Hunter on the bit about Fox's manipulation in the first AvP movie. If you watch what they talk about in the preproduction there's a great deal that never gets filmed, and would have added a great deal to the movie. Overall AvP-R feels like a turn in the right direction, from what was made of the first AvP, and that it has the makings of a good story, and I'm very excited to see how the rest of the movie plays out.

and for some people who think that the predalien grow very fast... let me correct u here...forsome reason it may look like it grow in juz a second... but this is a movie that only have 90++ minutes to show the whole movie... so if it show the predalien is oledi full grown in a sec. doens't really mean she is...this is juz to cut it short becuz of the time frame of the movie... and if they put "24 hour later" subtitle on it.. it looks lame...

UM BUMMER right from the fist shot its wrong!!! thats NOT THE PRED SHIP from avp and all though that new ship is sweet and i cant wait to see the film... that ship is way to small to be the one from avp and it is fact scar gave birth to the pred alien on that ship, the super big one not that little scout ship ...whats up brothers!!!!why no ship from avp?? this is a major flaw i mean huge dudes big big big f-up... other than that looks awesome..

I dunno guys, all i can say i see some of the same mistakes made in AvP. We know the aliens take a while to mature, yet the predalien was full grown before leaving earth's orbit. Something seems a little off, but hopefully it's jsut something that was edited out for the sake of time.

Well done scene, but not the best of the best execution. Though edited, the first 5 min. do tell it's cut-to-the-chase. I felt by doing that and tell all what has happened and what is happening visually about every step has at that part of the film killed the growing suspense.

This kind of thing always screws with my head. If this is the first five minutes of the film, but it's been cut, then this is longer than five minutes, so technically it's not the first five minutes of the film, its MORE. Arrrrgh!

Cheers to you Dragon_Ash, its just getting harder and harder to portray the aliens as the scare figure considering that most fans see them as their favourite (even myself) :D we don't really get scared, not in the way WE would like to anymore, I don't know. Sometimes I feel that we expect too much from directors to deliver us that feel of terror that we've all come to expect, the next logical step is gore, but not to the severe extent. I din't know D.A. I enjoyed watching the extended version of AVP just but I did see that movie 3 times in the cinema, if Anderson only executed it more right then it would have actually been a relly great flick. 8)

assf. Directors should not be Fanboys, and, is it just me or did we all get a very choppy feeling from the soundtrack already? This new composer is just using everything from the past and trying to resurrect the same thing we felt in the original movies! Sound plays a vital role in cinema and if we're going to step back a few decades than to hell with this shit. Dawson's creek meets AVP.....good going Strause. Where are the real roughnecks of a mountain town? These people are boring and look like the cover of some damn teen magazine. I think for the future actors in movies like these should be picked up at bars or your local REAL highschool...not six pack heaven. NO reality.

oh yea, as the scare factor...none of us will hardly ever get that sense of "being a child and seeing alien for the first time". We are all grown adults and jaded from the 21st century. But erik, how can Alien be scary? it's not scary anymore since the first movie. You know exally how it looks like, how it behaves. There is abit of cliche here. People wan't those movies to be scary (something new), but in the mean time it must be like the original. Like the original can't be scary, only repetitive. Repetitive equals boring.

Why oh why did they made the face huggers in CGI?It looks so cheap!! Pfff, and it all happens so fast. It is pure action, no suspence at all... The only cool thing was the original Predator music and that arm melting off. It made me think of facehuggers v.2, other colour and acid that is more effective. Like they were genecally modified. But it all happens so fast that there is no suspence left over.

even if its redesigned, I doubt it means all the predators inside it are gone, at the end of the first movie you seen an elder and all sorts of other predators.... I highly doubt one hybrid took them all out.

The first ship in the movie didn't look right to me either :-\ it looked too clean cut, too brand new a ship, nothing about it made me look and feel that this was the Predator's ship, it was as if they had rented it from some Star Trek film. THIS version's seems more with the coming tones of what we have come to expect of a Predator film.

In the clip, there are two ships. the one in the beginning w/ the dead body part, then the one heading back for earth again(scout ship) w/ the tail of chet+ fachugger sucking on side of tube and pred attack.

To everyone here that is complaining about the original tracks from alien and predator....those are temp tracks. More than likely, they won't be in the movie. Maybe a "remix" or an altered version, but not the originals.

If You will read the interview with brothers, they admit that new AvP3 will be in the future, and AvP2 hints that at the end. Also this 5 clip is edited (Colin said that Predalien growing is missing and also couple of other things) and that music tracks are temporary because the original ones wouldn't fit into edited clip.

Can't really say anything that no one else hasn't said yet so...The clip was good can't wait to see the whole unedited begining. I didn't see anything that I didn't like. Can't wait to see the movie. One word of advice to you guys that are bad mouthing the movie "don't knock it till you try it". To those who have been saying that the movie would suck if Wolf dies, look at it this way Pred 1 and 2 both died and those movies were still good. I hope if Wolf dies that he takes the whole town with him. As for how gorey (think that is spelled wrong) the arm melting was...well it's AVP come on it's going to be gorey (still spellled wrong i bet). The sound track was good,i remember being slightly disapointed when there was no predator or alien themes to AVP.All of the CG parts are good,those looked like pretty difficult shots,it whould have been a bitch to use puppets.

I've got to admit that I didn't read through all these posts, but I ran over the pages and I've got to ask: Are you guys real fan-boys and girls? What I'm talking about is that nobody of you seemed to notice, besides extoling Tyler's score (by the way: I've got to prise the cutaway he gave to us some weeks ago! I'm really looking forward to his score!) that the shown footage used sound samples of the Alien 4 soundtrack by Frizzell (when the spaceship crashes into the forest) and the AvP scoring of Kloser (when father and son are fleeing from the unknown danger). In detail I think the spoken parts were "They Swim..." and "Alien Fight". If you own the scores be sure to check it out! I've got to admit me being an hardcore-listener to theses scores, but I'm kind of disappointed, that the core of the fanbase didn't spot that. (the musical reprise... not me ;) ) I'm not pointing out that they might use old music for the new picture, because I'm aware of the fact that they're still pottering on the thing. Just saying.... have a nice a busy day! ;D ;)

OH MY GOD!!! :o I wanted to pass out. The predators homeworld is freakin awesome, and when Wolf got the S.O.S. signal and geared up, that was amazing. The Predalien lokks freaky man, he looks strong and just merciless

The score and image was GREAT! I was very close to piuc when that guy's arm feel down. I still feel some curiosity on what Darkness thinks.

I finally found a d/l for it in the seedy, dark underworld of the internet. Exceeded my expectations as well as amped up the "hype" meter for me as well. Can't wait 'till christmas.

SPOILERS Boy, a Predalien sure can grow up fast, huh? Still, the visuals (lighting/set//creature design/setups) all look very promising indeed. Hope there'll be some original music too - in the first five mins, we've already got Aliens, Ressurection and Predator - even the Facehugger glass-thump SFX are the same. Even so, who cares? It all sounds fanstastic. Also, when I compare the Hunter's melting-acid-arm gag to say, John Getz's in Cronenberg's The Fly - for me, this guy doesn't really seem particularly bothered by what's happening. It should be more like... ....AAAAGGGHHHHHGGHGGGHKKHGGHHHHGGH!!!! And, oh yeah - that's gotta be a Space Jockey chair Wolf's sitting on, right? Damn, they stole my idea!! :-)
