Subscribe to Server Perks
Subscribe to Collection "Aliens:Killing Floor"

--Manual
Download and install Sever Perks. SERVERPERKS DOWNLOAD
Download package AliensKF
Extract files to correct folders.

From Solo menu select the "Aliens:Killing Floor" Gametype.

Select map and difficulty of choice.

Turn on mutators:
"WPC Aliens Path Mutator"
"WPC Aliens:KF Server Vetrancy Handler"
"WPC Aliens:Killing Floor Detail Mut"

Rock out.


-Instructions for Multiplayer

Install as described above.

Use the AliensKFGameType.AliensKFGameType gametype.

Activate the following mutators.
"WPC Aliens Path Mutator"
"WPC Aliens:KF Server Vetrancy Handler"
"WPC Aliens:Killing Floor Detail Mut"

Other recommended Mutators:
"Trader Anti-blocker"
"Max Players"

Configure "WPC Aliens:KF Server Ventrancy Handler" for database use if you use it.

For the true WPC Aliens KF experience leave the settings as is. Compatibility with other mods is unknown. If you add/remove or mod this mod and it breaks, destroys your server, sets your hair on fire and/or devours your first born don't come crying to us. This mod should work out of the box, if it doesn't you are doing something wrong. We currently offer no support to those who mod/edit this mod.

Looks awesome, but I am not keen on the fin tails. Looks cool though. That player must have panicked when he saw that many xenos coming at him.

No download, since were in the middle of hunting bugs of the mod etc. After that we will prob stick it to our WPC servers, so only members of the WPC will have access..and maybe some AVPGalaxy members. (depends on the interest, so show us some love lol)

Quick questions, will it be playable with only Aliens and no infected, will there be custom maps, and will there be marine skins?

- No other zeds spawn with the aliens, it a pure alien mod. (the picture was from a ingame test)

- Custom Space Maps, prob existing with Aliens props and music
- The Queen (all animations have to be redone, so this is going to take a while lol)
- Add more marine skins
- Additional weapons
- Bug fixing

I think Hemi decided not to share AKF with the public so its exclusive to our servers (for now at least, I can't say (and I don't know) if he will change his mind in the future) The Dead Space mod was used by other clans for their servers but they were claiming the mod as their own creation. We want to avoid that you know  :laugh: As far as I know this time not all files are gonna be stored in the cache. Some of the files will not appear there to prevent some people of compiling the mod as their own using those files. Or that's what I've heard about the prevention method.

At this rate it seems the mod community is beating ALIENS- COLONIAL MARINES in terms of work ethic, time to release (not taking 11 years counting the 2001 abanded Playstation 2 A-CM project).

First CryoEngine and now this. Favourited.

Damn I need to buy a gaming PC  :o

Almost right... ;-)

The mod can be downloaded through steam's workshop when its released. The WPC will have a server running with online database to store your perks and stats. There will be a readme file on how to get this running in SP. But in the end...you want to play this on a server with friends and some badass maps, as seen on the screenshots.  :)

All playable characters now also have voicepacks installed, so you can scream like a little girl while playing the Hudson char.

Characters you can play as :

- Gorman
- Apone
- Hudson
- Hicks
- Frost
- Vasquez
- Alien 3 Ripley

If all goes well, release will in a weeks time. Watch the Steam Workshop of Killing Floor for the mods release.

Some information on the current weapons in the mod. Yes we made a few things up, and its not all canon....but its fun!

Weapons

WY-Pitbull

Standard issue side arm of the USCM. Came in last minute replacement. Manufactured by Weyland Yutani under contract. This particular weapon has been fitted with a laser sight to aid hip firing at fast moving targets.


USCM MK17

Some designs never get old. This weapon has change little over the last century and remains a tried and tested back weapon of choice for the USCM.


M41A - Pulse Rifle

100 rounds of 10mm explosive tipped caseless ammunition combined with an over and under 30mm grenade launcher make this weapon the ultimate bug stomper. Standard issue for all USCM Riflemen.


Ithaca Model 39

Strictly non-issue this weapon is often carried in by specialists as a back up. They tend to find it handy for close encounters.


USCM Breacher

Be it doors or bulkheads there is nothing that the Breacher can't get you into. Smart ammo and barrel rifling allow for either a tight or loose spread giving the specialist tactical options.


M56 Smartgun

The M56A2 is a 10mm general purpose automatic squad support weapon effective to 1,500 meters. The pulse-action system employs a free floating recoil dampened motorised rotating breech mechanism chambered for the 10 mm x 28 caseless round. Integrated optics allow for operation in lowlight and poor visibility conditions.


M240 'Incinerator' Flame Unit

The M240 Flame Unit is a lightweight, carbine-format flamethrower designed for use in close combat at the squad and fireteam level. Using pressurized, ultra-thick napalm fuel as a base ignited by a nozzle burner, the M240 can shoot flame at targets up to 30 meters.


USCM X4

The X4 is a lightweight 40 mm six-shot revolver-type grenade launcher. Useful for saturation and crowd control. In close quarters it can be as much a threat to the user as the enemy.


UA 571-C Sentry Gun

The UA 571-C is a man portable automatic perimeter defence system currently deployed by the Colonial Marine Corps. Only properly trained Specialists can operate these units.


Equipment

Portable Hand Welder - Gas powered cutting torch and spot welder. Uses compressed hydrocarbon fuel contained in a refillable internal reservoir bottle. - Standard issue for all marines.

TNR Shoulder Lamp - The TNR lamp runs off a rechargeable internal battery and incorporates a carrying handle so that it may be detached and used as a hand torch. - Standard issue for all marines.

Motion Tracker - The modern motion tracker is a simple surveillance device originally designed for use by rescue and police services. Essentially, it is a high-powered ultrasound scanner that uses doppler-shift discrimination to filter out moving objects from stationary background.

K52 Medical Kit - The medical kit comes in a hold all containing a full field medics supplies that any marine can use to patch his wounds. A stimulate delivery system is also available that is capable of pumping enough drugs into a wounded marine to make him continue as if he were unharmed. Due to it's unstable nature only trained Medics are also equipped with the system.

So the Sentry Gun is in this too? It's all looking good - that face-hugger looks very nice. Doesn't seem to quite fit round Whiskey's face in the screenshot though? From the footage, the Pitbull looks like it has a nice kick!  :)

Guess I'll write up a quick review

First things first, this mod is very very hard. Me and one other person found ourselves dying on round 2/3 most of the time, so I never got a look at some of the higher level xenos. The Aliens themselves look very nice (No tail sails!!!!) and are extremely deadly. The marines on the other hand are good, but not great. Their armor just seems a little cartoonish, but when aliens are clawing at you left, right, and center, you tend not to notice. You also get to play as the characters from the movies, like Hudson and Apone, who come with their own custom dialogue taken straight from the film, which is a nice touch. Weapons and equipment are great, period. The Smartgun is a blast to use, and really makes you feel like a badass (That is until you get facehugged, those things are terrifying!). The sentry gun is a great tool for locking down areas, combine that with a few welded doors to make a choke point and watch the bodies drop. I found that the motion tracker in this mod, unlike the one in the deadspace mod, was surprisingly useful, and saved my life more than once. Marines have 3 classes to choose from; rifleman, Medic, and specialist. The specialist is the heavy hitter, armed with a shotgun and a 30% price drop on the smartgun, he packs one hell of a punch. The rifleman is your general purpose, Pulse rifle carrying infantryman, but don't let that discourage you, the Pulse rifle is a mean weapon that cuts xenos to bits. I unfortunately never had the chance to play as the medic, but I have the strangest feeling he heals people. But not everything is great, my biggest complaint is that there is a very small number of maps, some of which don't exactly give of an "Aliens feel". My favorite map so far is Hadley's Harbor, a container area in the Hadley's Hope colony from the film. The other maps that I really enjoyed were Derelict, set within the Space Jockey's flight room (YOU CAN SEE THE CHAIR!!!) , and Atmosphere processor , which is just a re-skinned version of KF-Elecfields. But the addition of an Atmosphere processor in the background, a new skybox, and the USS Sulaco in orbit, the map just feels so much more fun to play on. Then there's the other maps. Hadley's Hallway is by far my least favorite of the bunch. It's a very long, wide hallway with Aliens spawning on either end. Another map I wanted to talk about is WY Transport route (forgive me if I got the name wrong ), it's essentially a rode in a forest, and just doesn't feel Aliens'ish. My biggest complaint is probably the lack of confined maps, a part of me really wanted to play on maps that resembled the corridors of Hadley's Hope, but sadly, that was not to be. Like I said before, I barely progressed in the game, due to the extreme difficulty (PinkiePie645 or what ever you're name is, you are a trooper and I thank you for staying in the game), but that did not stop me from having a really fun time. This mod is great, WolfPackClan really outdid themselves this time, and despite a few complaints, i highly advise anybody who cared to read this review to download this mod. I'll give the Aliens KF mod an 8.8 out of 10.

Pros: -Aliens look great
        -weapons and equipment look and sound great
        -Game is very hard
        -Most of the maps look great
        -Tracker is a step up from KF Deadspace

Cons: -Not enough maps
         -You really need alot of people
         -Some maps are not so great
         -Weird armor

P.S. Almost forgot to talk about the chestburster mechanic, if a buddy does not shoot a facehugger off, it will fall off by itself and die, and then a chestburster pops out at a random time!

The lack of maps is due to their highest point. I mean most of the sci-fi maps fitting with the theme are long narrow corridor maps, which is fine for the basic xenos yes, BUT the Queen can't fit in those corridors and maps so Hemi, Whiskey and the other guys working on the mod were supposed to search for big open or closed but high enough maps for the queen. Otherwise they had to rework the whole map for the Queen to fit. I (as Hammer tool mapper) don't know how time consuming is to do this in the UDK but I think its a lot more than to fix the map's measurements in Hammer. I hope this clear the thing about the lack of maps in the mod for ya ;)

Hadleys Harbor is a Reskin aswell im afraid. We are no mappers, but there are some goodies on the way. We put some folk to work on maps.

The reason they are reskinned aswell is the music of the films. When you download the mod(so not just join the server), you get the music of the first 3 movies on those maps.

(Atmosphere Processor / HadleysHallway / HadleysHarbor / Derelict / Xenoish)

Mapping is a pain yes, but give it some time. We will create a few new mappacks along the way, first one will prob be released this month.

I can (I can't actually) understand developers have to downgrade the imposing size of the alien and the way It walks (the human-born alien) to satisfy the needs of the cancer that the casual audience is and kids alike, making them look like tiny space lizards but the same coming from modders is another all together.

I was expecting a better portrayal of the human born alien for this mode seriously, Well, you eventually got infected by Fox retardation and failed as well. I wish you the best of luck with the mod and those lolalien toons with tail sails and crawling all the time like If they all were the alien runner. I for one will check this one out just to see how It goes.

Not all the aliens have the sail tails, and those will be permanently removed in the future. Only the Spitter and the Stalker have those, and with the next update these will be changed to the tail the runner/warrior/drone/rigged have.

Hemi you guys did a fantastic job on the mod, ignore the whiners here.  There are few things more annoying than people who contribute nothing to the modding community, yet sit back and judge the work of people who do. 

Don't let the ungrateful idiots ruin what you've achieved, and IMO don't waste your time defending your work to them.  Constructive criticism is one thing: crying like a 5 year old because the aliens are too small is another.

Now, like the boring ungrateful I am my only complaint here is indeed the size of the Aliens. I don't know why it is so hard for game developers, as well as modders/fans, to get the size right. Alien adults are supposed to be somewhere around 8ft tall, but in the games they are more like 6ft and a few inches.

Anyways, you guys really did an awesome job with this one. Kudos to you!

Who said they were all adults though. And camerons aliens were much smaller then the Alien from part 1 or the Runner. The later waves of the mod have the spitter that is bigger then the drones/warriors/runners/riggid, and approaches upright.

Some of you are treating this as a full release of an official alien franchise game with the comments. But you are forgetting this is a mod for a game that does not have aliens in it. Hence we have somewhat limitations in the size area. The aliens are already sticking their heads through walls and doors, because we stretched their size as far as we could.

We will run some tests with bigger size aliens. Its not that this is a problem adjusting, its more a problem of engine and gameplay limitations of the original game. Killing floor does not have enemies that can walk on walls/ceilings etc. , and yet we pulled that off (even though the developers said we couldnt)

The updates for this mod will prob be every month for the next 6 months. Hopefully it will convince some of you to actually play it. :P

I too am impressed with what I've seen. I've already downloaded the RAR file from the website, but I'm stuck. I read the readme file, but it isn't very specific about where to extract the files to and how to get the mod running... I thought I also read about joining the Steam Workshop groups, but I couldn't locate the named groups. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong... any help would be appreciated.

Also wanted to add that this is the most exciting thing (for me) that's come out in recent times save Prometheus, related to Aliens. I'm very excited to try out this mod for an already challenging yet fun game. One other comment... I too would enjoy the idea of Praetorians in the mod. None of the films have ever given them proper justice like AvP/AvP2 for PC.

We'll never get to enjoy a true portrayal of the aliens in a game, and how imposing and scary they are, until this pathetically wrong and baseless concept gets finally discarded once and for all. Until then, all we will see will be lolalien toons, like the ones form avp2010, like the ones now in ACM, like this ones from the mod, etc.

BTW Hemi I reinstalled KF and downloaded this mod. I'm having fun for It. I just wanted to express my eternal concern about the aliens portrayal, in the most honest way I could. The Preatorian was actually allready done, but I didnt want it to go live with the release...it wasnt up to par animation-wise. Next update he will return again.  :)

Thanks, but remember the problem is not about their size only, but also the way they move (abusing the crawling on the human born alien is just awful; we've got the runner for that already). This last is just as important as their actual size, If not more.

Just don't let yourself be fooled by that totally out of place "making them smaller is a necessary evil" concept. You know that's not true, and also know that's a big part of the problem as well. Same goes to the "sacrifice their size and the way they move for balancing reasons", same awful wrong concept that  has been plaguing the aliens videogames for generations now.

You can find a way to make them incredibly tall as they are and to move on their two. I know It. Also, and talking about the most violent alien class ever seen till date, remember how scary the alien runner can be during those, and I admit It, very few moments It stands on Its two (not just when It is close to you). Imho that should be your main goal when trying to portray this once towering biomechanical horrors. Just don't make them feel like If they were bugs, because they are not.

Animation-wise, were kinda stuck with what the Killing Floor game has to offer. We can, however, add classes like our Stalker alien that walks on both legs and increase their size.

As I said though, this is a mod and not a full game studio working on it 24-7. We can only do so much tweaking.

I can only promise we will look into making them bigger. But the simple fact is the maps for killing floor dont like big ass enemies. Doors height and blocking volumes would totally screw up the gameplay value of the mod and make it unplayable. Aliens would get stuck on them making it frustrating to play it.

Make us maps that support bigger enemies hehe  ;D

Yeah I know what you are talking about. I know the engine myself too and, whats's more, I'm convinced If you made them as big as they should be, you would end up finding severe hitbox problems, because as you have said, KF engine allows little enemies only, even when head on (not imposing enemies), so increasing the size of the aliens to Its correct size (towering beasts) would cause hitbox glithching; i mean, you would hit them even by shooting to the (air, or space) hitboxes next to them.

Making the aliens as they should be would requiere a complete new engine, prepared to manage incredibly huge enmies that would make you turn your mouse view up anytime you met a standard alien head on, not to mention a praetorian. That's why I can't stand what has happened in avp2010 and ACM again; they had the perfect chance to create and portray the true scary monster the alien was once (once and for all)l, but Foxtards again ended up pleasing the cancer the casual audience is, and forced GB and Rebellion 8that's why I prefer to believe, but not sure yet) to make failaliens again that could please and appeal both the casual cancer and the kids, or which is the same..=$$$$$

If you allow me, I would like to give you an approximate correct reference for you to use next time (with another engine in another mod If it allows it) on the classic human born aliens, no matter a Classic Cameralien or iconic's Giger monstrosity (they actually size the same, both were +8 foot tall, so does the vicious runner when on Its two as well). You may find that perfect reference I'm talking about in avp2010 praetorian. Yes, that should be the correct size of the standard aliens (you have to look up to see Its face when It stands onn Its two right in front of you). They will tell you that's too much, but you know that's the truth right?

Thanks for the help. Thus far, it's ridiculous. I could barely play with three people total (myself included), without dying under 5 mins. Unfortunately, my laptop is sub-par, not built for gaming. It struggles and kind of ruins the mood, so to speak, but I really like the mod. You guys did a fantastic job on it.

Next patch will arrive after the x-mas event of TWI. That will further balance the mod in the sense of making the queen slightly less rapey. Also 2 new linebreakers will be added in the form of an improved Alien Stalker that will be tall/standing upright and offcourse the infamous Preatorian.

While the new aliens are going to look sexy...I wish to raise another question with the alien fanboys.

Do we wish to see more characters from the other movies. Maybe play as Morse from alien 3, or Dallas from the first one. I know they don't look like a spitting image of the real actors, but we can have a little fun with them. Get some good quotes in from the other movies.

Alright... some thoughts...

Generally pretty good, especially for a mod. It could use a tidy up here and there but a very promising first release. I think my biggest complaint is how wide and open all the maps are, but I understand that that is to do with the size of the Queen. I dislike the pulse rifle's iron sights as well-  it's not the best of rifles to fit the purpose with it's huge green frame but I couldn't really work out where to aim when looking down the sights. Some of the aliens movements didn't quite feel as imposing as they should either- mainly the slower aliens. It did remind me of the movements from the original movie but because the players are armed with weapons that can cut aliens down, the monster slowly creeping towards you didn't quite have the same feel. However, on that note, I did like how you managed to incorporate a variety of different aliens into the mod and that the variety transcended looks and minor differences in stats.

One of the things I was particularly pleased with was the difficulty- I don't know if anyone else had trouble with this but the groups I played with often found themselves short of ammo during a wave forcing us to go out and scour the surrounding area. It did get easier as we acquired more weapons (and in turn, more ammo) but it worked well to force us out of chokepoints that are so prevalent in KF. When we did (finally) reach the Queen, she tore us a new arsehole very quickly as well, which was all good and fun.

I'm kind of split here. On the one hand it would be good to see some more favourites like Dallas but on the other hand, I do quite like the feel of "Colonial marines vs Aliens". If you were to add more, I'd love to see some of the bioweapons guys from the end of Alien 3, even if they don't say much. But I'd actually prefer it if some of the weapons that just got reskins got more unique models seeing as the reskin kind of broke the atmosphere for me a bit.

Overall great job though.

Some of you might have noticed the mod is a tad fcked atm due to tripwire's stupid xmas event update. We are working on a fix. You can still join the server, just expect xmas zeds to randomley spawn between the aliens...and the queen doesnt work for some reason.

Were on it as Hudson would say.

It depends the spec on the laptop but IIRC Killing Floor doesn't push systems too much.

Sub to the files and it should auto download all the stuff. (after subscribing to the files, boot up KF and wait in the main menu...left upper corner should show what is downloading, when its done reboot KF and you should be able to select the aliens gametype. Activate all the mutators and you'll be good to go)

Mind you, it's buggy atm. And I'm sorting out all the errors. Motiontracker doesn't seem to work etc etc. I should have a superior version ready by summer. (yes that long, since im adding all the ACM stuff)

Replaced the mod's spitter with ACM's one...since that one was the better choice in the end.

All the gameplay will be Aliens yes. Customised menu's, playerskins, Aliens, music from the movie etc etc. Maps is a different story, but we have a few KF maps that fit the part. Killing Floor has custom map builder tools for folk to fool around with.

That mechanic is already in Killing Floor. They are called mission maps, so yes that is possible.

As you can see, we already made a start with adding content.

I'm planning to create all the characters from the movie for the mod with the assets from ACM. We currently already have all the soundbanks ready for custom taunts (quotes from the movie), and some playermodels we created. So it will simply require me to only replace the mesh of the modelwith one from ACM. Weaponwise we will use the ones we have now in the current version of the mod :

We have a Pulse Rifle from the ACM game ready to replace ours, but we could also just add it. Same goes for the AVP2010 model. We also have the sniper rifle from AVP2010 ready to go in the game.

Aren't you afraid that Gearbox might get upset over the use of their assets Hemi? I've recently decided not to use copyrighted music in my game just to minimize the risk of C&D, but it might just be me getting paranoid :D . Wish you all the best though. The fact that Fox didn't make you stop working on this mod makes me cautiously optimistic - maybe they've stopped being so overprotective about their IP's?

I could give a rats ass about Fox or Gearbox. They had their chance. I'm tired of them fcking things up.

I want a propper Aliens game, thus I will mod it. Little they can do about it since everything UT2004 spreads like a virus once it's on a public server. If I get a C&D, someone else will pick it up no doubt.

What is the community like for it by the way? I would gather it being small given that KF has a pretty tight nit community in comparison to most AAA games. More passionate and dedicated players I would imagine.

The community is a bit smaller compared to a say PayDay 2 one. It all depends on who you play with. Our clan usually just plays together on our own servers. The new aliens mod will also be tested behind closed doors with the clan.(which everyone can apply to btw, we are not some closed group etc)

You still have trash players like in every coop game, that grief a match on public games. But for the most part people behave.

ps: I will be releasing map tools so folk can create their own aliens maps in the SDK for killing floor. I was hoping for the AVP2 modders to one day pick this up, so we will see.  :)

You can download the old version, but its a tad broken atm. Its best to download ServerPerks and use that instead of the special Aliens perks. Then manually add all the weapons from the mod to the .ini file of ServerPerks.

The Aliens spawn, but I think the Queen does not.

Just seen the announcement for Killing Floor 2, just wondering if a Aliens mod will come at some point in the future and since it's using Unreal Engine 3 and a new Gore dismemberment system, it could be the game ACM should have been. :)

Various new things have been implemented, like an achievement system(as you can see). I am also adding a few simple maps to get the players starting. (including a static mesh pack to create your own Aliens themed maps. This map you see here is a FaceHugger only map, were swarms of huggers try to clamp to your face. The mod works with the Bot mutator that is used in the KF community so you can activate all your favourite marines to fight along side of you. (and yes, they randomly blurt out quotes from the movie)

I guess you have to modify the xeno models though. Now afterwe know that KF2 features a lot more dismemberment possibilities.

Nope, all bone related. Only needs a static mesh from a chunk of the aliens body. Either way, I can disable the entire system in the code so I don't have to use it.

This is so great - I don't really game at all apart from A:CM, but this looks brilliant - I can't believe that you guys spent all this time modding.

I got to say I am very impressed, I have not played this but I am dying to especially after the disappointment that was A:CM. I read maybe the first few pages and watched the vids but then I skipped to here to see what is new and update, nice so far. so what I am about to say may have been addressed The only issue I have, not really an issue because I can respect the efforts made which was done without pay and the limitation of the engine is that the Alien drones and Warriors are not bipedal, normally they are, as for size, I never noticed in the vids because they were on all fours, other than that, I got no complaints with what I saw and its always going to be a work in progress I presume.

Times like this I wish I had a decent pc to play stuff like this.

I think the mod will be very different compared to the first. All the modding folk are currently just making maps as modding for the game has little use due to EA. Too many things are going to change and it would be a waste of time and energy to create an Aliens mod for a game that needs many updates.

It will yes. Start small, then expand...just like we did the first mod. First attempt would be simply create a mod that replaces zeds with 1 alien, then move on from there.
