Remember when we joined in the April Fool's fun in 2011? This gag ended up included on the Prometheus blu-ray.

That actually looked pretty interesting! I would have loved to have seen how he pulled that off.

Seems that the guy called Agent 9 wanted to make another fan-edition. Although judging by the trailer date (June 26, 2013) the project never really happened. Anyway, looks interesting.

Parody intro I did in a fan-edit project of the film, awhile back.

Another parody video. I always thought this part could use a little Slayer.

The BBFC is pretty strict on things that they consider repeatable violence, but. Headbutts, for example, are pretty notoriously cracked down on by them. Fist-fights seem fine, but one dude hitting another dude with his head? Hell naw.

Admittedly, no-one's going to go full Fifield on someone else, but the act of stomping or pounding on someone's head is going to set off alarm bells to the BBFC regardless of how quickly edited it is. Australia just seems to care about gross length.

The UK classification board made mention of it as justification for raising the rating, so I just imagined that it might rate a mention here. They say: "This [stomping] emphasis on bloody detail exceeds the terms of the BBFC's Guidelines at '12A'/'12' and is more appropriately classified at '15' where the Guidelines state 'Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury'."

I guess our boards have a different sense of 'dwelling'.

I was surprised they didn't make more mention of the stomping and smashing in of the crewman's face by Fifield.
There was no need. They covered that the scene had no lingering shots and was done with fairly quick editing -- which the head stomping falls under.

I don't necessarily agree that such rapid editing strictly lessens the impact of scenes like that, but our classification boards are weird.

Stomped?  They made as much mention as they needed to.

QuoteI guess since the scene is so vague ("Is that tobacco in your suit?" "Yeah, tobacco ...") it would probably go straight over most kids' heads?

Didn't even realise that. I guess since the scene is so vague ("Is that tobacco in your suit?" "Yeah, tobacco ...") it would probably go straight over most kids' heads?
