I came across this on Blu-ray.com's Alien: Covenant thread.
Special Features:
Audio Commentary by Ridley Scott
12 Deleted and Extended Scenes
5 Featurettes: Meet Walter, Phobos, The Last Supper, The Crossing, Advent
Master Class: Ridley Scott
Theatrical Trailers
David's Illustrations
Audio: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1
4K Blu-ray: Dolby Atmos
Not much there to say besides if this is official, then we might not be seeing an extended cut anytime soon.

There are the extended and deleted scenes though...we also have to remember that The Martian was released with a standard edition, and then several months later an Extended Edition was released with 10 minutes added back into the film. So, hope exists. However, unless I'm mistaken, The Martian was very successful, which could have prompted the double-dip extended cut.

I can't help but sigh. If that's legit then that's just pitiful. Sounds like we might get to see some of those other virals that weren't released but I'd still rather a massive chunky behind-the-scenes documentary.

I have that Blu-ray and it didn't come with deleted scenes or Director's commentary. That's why if this is official, then that special edition will not come into fruition anytime soon.
Doesn't look like we'd be getting a long-ass documentary then, only short featurettes (sans the HBO special even!), and we have seen stuff like The Last Supper or The Crossing already...By the way I might be forced to double dip and buy the regular BR version as soon as it's out and then once I get an Xbox One X, I'll buy the 4K UHD version...

I hope Fox releases something officially to either verify or discredit this. If this what their officially releasing, then its a bummer. Besides an extended cut, I was waiting for another two to three hour doc session with Covenant.

Interesting, I didn't realize the original Martian release didn't have those features. Bummer. If nothing else, I sincerely hope that the deleted scenes are the 12 minutes with Shaw Pietro was talking about.

I'm crossing my fingers that it's in there so someone is able to do a fan edit like Prometheus.
Its possible that due to the lower turnout for this film, Fox is holding back so people have a reason to buy future releases.
I wasnt expecting an extended cut yet. They will certainly wait for a boxed set for those.
I was really hoping for a 4 hours documentary though. Fingers crossed this is being saved for later.
Director's Cuts and Extended Cuts are so bizarre. I think sometimes the filmmaker isn't involved in the process at all.
For example: the 2006 Extended Cut of Black Hawk Down. 8 minutes were added back into the film, but there was never any talk of Ridley doing this himself. Same with The Martian Extended Cut.
We also saw this with Tony Scott's films Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State. No filmmaker involvement was mentioned in any of the advertising or promotion.
So they give us films that don't really need additional footage, and then when there is a film many of the fans want a Director's Cut of...no go.
As Donald Trump would say...SAD.

Enoch mentioned several months back that his "source" told him that there was a making-of documentary shot called "
The Making of Fear". Not 100% certain about the veracity of Enoch's source though, so take with a grain of salt.
EDIT: Found his original post. At least he was spot-on about Luke doing the viral marketing so he might be onto something here.

There will be documentary on movie titled 'The Making of Fear'.
Thats only thing I know at this moment. They plan extensive marketing campaign!
One of Ridley sons maybe did some viral material for Covenant!
This is just a strong hint.
It would be sad if there isn't a documentary, but at least we'll get 12 deleted/extended scenes. That sounds like quite a lot.
Just gimme that apartment scene. NOW.
It'll play on a loop in my living room.

Boy, I hope there holding back and their going to release that as a double dip. I remember when Gladiator was released in the early 2000's in a two disc DVD with deleted scenes and commentary. Then in 2005, a three disc set was released with the deleted scenes reinserted into the film, a new commentary from Ridley, and a three hour documentary. http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/17521/gladiator-extended-edition/
Let's see if Covenant runs the same fate in a few years, perhaps in a trilogy/anthology box set after the prequel series is done.
Didn't one of the make-up effects guy's say while they were shooting he never once saw a film crew filming any BTS material?

No making-of doc is extremely disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing Katherine Waterston standing in a hole or a trench to do her dialogue (she's 6-ish feet tall and taller than Danny McBride - sometimes that's what they do).
Hopefully we'll get to see the apartment scene though.
I'm not surprised we didn't get a extended cut for the bluray release. I'm happy that we're getting the deleted and extended scenes. Hopefully, someone on here will make a fan edit of the film that's closer to the novel.
At least we don't have to wait to see the deleted scenes, and they won't make people double dip for those and the commentary. But the absence of The Making of Fear is odd. I will check out the disc for the commentary and deleted scenes but won't buy, just in case. The Scott brothers take up a huge chunk of my shelf space with their double dips, already, and I'm tired of buying one only to resell on eBay six months later after one viewing. Covenant has just been one let down after another for me, and I just can't be bothered with such a weak disc.

The three of them are 6' and they looked the same hieght in ALIEN: COVENANT.

The cover art is meh. I would have preferred something either more subtle or more epic like the engineers/xenomorph poster. But whatever, it's the movie that counts, and I'm excited to see the extended/deleted stuff.
Withholding the doc makes me think they will double dip. Knowing they created one is a giveaway. Best case scenario is the extended cut wouldn't be ready for the first wave of releases so they are withholding the doc for the ultimate edition. It would be nice if they would be up front about this, like Lord of the Rings. The sad truth is that studios are backing away from home video because it peaked over a decade ago. That's why there are tons of extended cuts from that era that just added some deleted scenes back in without director participation. Sony in particular beat the extended cut to death until they genuinely devalued the concept. Fox today isn't the same Fox that allowed Scott to create a director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven, gave it a limited theatrical run, and released a four-disc DVD. It's a different marketplace and the studio is under different leadership.
A lot of it also had to do with Lauzirika. He knows what the fans want and gives them 110%. I rewatch his docs frequently and they are exquisite. But Fox and even Ridley seem disinclined to continue the practice. If they want to create a flagship home video release, they should get Lauzirika back and follow his advice to a T.
Rereading the old box office prediction thread makes me wonder if the sparse features on this disc is a reflection of the poor box office. Hardly anybody predicted it would perform this poorly. Most people expected it to make at least double the amount it ended up making. It's entirely possible that Fox lost money on Covenant. It might have been a financial decision not to throw good money after bad. We may have only gotten a commentary because they already recorded it.

He mentioned something around the release of the Blu-ray that his experiences on the film could have warranted his own 'making of' documentary. But I know he was proud of the film and the special features he created. I just find it interesting that he hasn't done any special features work on any movie since, unfortunately.
I was hoping something like the "Furious Gods" documentary would have been included
Didn't they shoot one called The Making of Fear? What is the status of that? Was it too costly to complete or are they withholding it for a double dip? It had better not be a retail exclusive or disc reviewers are going to go ape.

That's what everyone is wondering.
If the rumour about this doc is true, maybe there are issues with it being ready in time, considering the movie was meant to be released in August and brought forward considerably?

I was thinking the same thing, but Logan really didn't get that many special features and it did a lot of business for the studio. A commentary, three deleted scenes, trailers, and the Logan Noir version of the movie. It did get a 'Making Of' documentary that was an hour long, but it wasn't all that great.
Overall, it still felt like a weak release.

I don't think anyone here knows. I hope most of the effects are finished, but I doubt it. It depends on how early the scene was cut, I suppose.

I thought Ridley's commentary for Prometheus was pretty poor. He just kept describing what was going on in each scene rather than giving background information.

At the very least, 'The Crossing' and 'Last Supper' shorts are very welcome. They're kind of necessary viewing prior to the main feature, as far as I am concerned. I'm so glad those 2 items are present on the disc!
-Windebieste.
I'm curious about what Phobos and Advent are.
I cant wait for the bluray to come out. I was only able to see the film once in theaters and i really enjoyed it despite its flaws. Really want to watch it again, wish i could have caught it again on the big screen.
That art work sucks, man what the, no directors or extended cut ? the last occurrence with the xenomorph seemed to fast, surely you would insert what was filmed back there , which we known was longer. I would like to point out, this release was originally scheduled for a pre order Fall Release ? anyone else notice this ? seems fox cracked the sh!ts and wanted this release asap.
18 minutes of deleted or extended scenes, not including the featurettes. That's a lot more than Prometheus, it feels like. Can't wait for that! I can edit those into the film, no problem!
hour-long master class sounds good. I wonder if the commentary by Ridley this time will be decent, or not.
i wonder if any of thise deleted scenes will add to that last 20 minutes of the theartical cut, the shower scene extended perhaps and thats all i can think of. .oh and the alien jumping towards the camera in the corridor. .
Prometheus had 36 minutes of deleted, extended or alternate scenes.

I think virals that were never released. They shot one of David doing some drawings that never came out. Might be one of those 2
Any deleted scenes would be much appreciated. If we get a directors cut someday hopefully Ridley doesn't say that covenant is the perfect film alien was. Nothing against covenant I enjoyed it. Anyway, I hope the deleted scenes have some stuff that was included in the book
18 minutes of deleted and extended scenes sounds great! Hopefully includes all the Shaw material amongst the other pieces we've heard about. A Ridley commentary is always welcome too. It really is a shame there is no CdL documentary, so I guess the search is on to archive all the online promotional featurettes instead.
Cover art is... ok. I much preferred the temp artwork of the Alien from the teaser poster. Keep it simple.
I wish they'd just make an extended 120/130 minute cut, for gods sake. Just have two versions on the disc: theatrical and extended. Why is that hard? I want to watch the movie fully fleshed out with the deleted scenes in context and fitting in with the atmosphere, not flipping through deleted scenes from a menu.
It's 122 minutes.
All I wanna see is the full grown Alien smashing through the glass in the shower.

Like with the Alien director's cut. It would be nice, but most studios double-dip with this sort of thing, release a theatrical cut, and then eventually a director's cut, down the road. Though, they never did with Prometheus...

Haha yeah, I was thinking an extra 20/30 minutes but it came out wrong.
Doesn't this movie get released in Japan around the same time??? Seems kinda odd
Didn't it dhow that in the theatrical release? I know there were two cuts I think since some of the bootlegs had an edited shower scene.
It showed the head bite but then it cut away
The cover art???I just don't think this whole Alien in broad daylight is gonna age well.....ever.The artwork they handed out on Alien Day...even the movie poster&novel cover ...are light years better-I hope someone puts the deleted scenes up on this valuable resource of a site-as I'm intrigued by Advent&Phobos very much......
Saw it on Amazon several days ago, and thought "thank goodness, it won't take 3 more months to finally see it". I will just say, Definitely not the cover shot I thought it would be. Yikes.
Isnt the alien missing his shoulder pads? Most versions of that scene have them, I think they were missing in a early render from a test prevew.
That cover is... arse.
Not being a bratty online moan machine, I like the film for the most part, but yes.... arse.
Also (I saw the film twice at the cinema so no guilt tripping me regarding the copy I saw to asses this), but that scene where the alien disappears down the ladder toward the end? If they can, they desperately need to sort that out before home release. The CGI effects seem half done in this film. Those tubes on the alien's back didn't just fold up, they literally 'clipped' through the floor.
I couldn't quite tell in the cinema, I thought it was going to be an unfinished effect left in the trailer.
Always a great day when you can go to the store and pick up a new Alien film on Blu-Ray. I've actually grown quite fond of Covenant. Seen it 3 times in the theatre...
I wonder if those recorded messages home will be included. They don't seem to be explicitly mentioned in the description.
Those who live in the UK or in greater Europe and want to get the Target exclusive digibook, your in luck. Target is now shipping overseas.

It's curious how the Blu-Ray went away from the green look of other AC materials. By going with a more blue / gray look, the Blu-Ray is going away from the traditional Alien graphics that were brought back to popularity by Alien: Isolation...
. .i would love to know the lenght and title of each cut scene. . .but i am sure we will learn more closer to release. .
I'm looking forward to watching the deleted scenes on youtube.
That cover, pathetic.
I hate that cover so much, I'm forgoing the hard copy and just going to download the movie and change the cover art to something way better.
I like the use of colors on the cover, but I'm not sure about the picture itself. I don't really like that shot of the Xeno, even though the design looks pretty good. But I can always create my own cover.
The cover looks so cheap, unfortunately.
I'm not sure why the cover is an issue? I'm not going to watch the cover.
That doesn't mean people can't dislike it, right? It's all we can see of the Blu-ray right now.
You could always make your own cover and change it out for the one that's being used for the official release.
That being said, I don't mind the cover. I always loved that shot of the Alien anyway.
Yeah its a really great shot of the alien, and it works okay as a cover. It could have been any cover really and it would have been critisized here regardless. The whinging is pervasive.

True that! I think the cover is fine, though I have seen better. Like
echobbase79 said, you can always make your own cover.
The cover is not bad. Not at all. I prefer this over a straight up Alien look. You know the one. All black with white letters, and hints of green. This look fits well with the Prometheus look.
It is just surprising. That is all. I figured we would get a look that was more reminiscent of Alien.
You know, the film was so grayscale, it could have been done in black n white. The cover is just fine. I'm really looking forward to this, and I hope to one day get extended versions of these films...
The cover looks like an Alien surfing, about to catch a wave on an overcast day at Leo Carillo State Beach out in Malibu=Katherine Waterston's "haircut" was more frightening.....
What was so wrong with the movie poster that they couldn't use it for the blu ray? The actual cover is just a shitty edit of a screengrab. Awful.
That image is the most iconic of the movie, so it makes sense to use it.
It's an ok cover but it does looks like Xenomorph surfing with waves in the background.
That Target exclusive book looks good, but I'm concerned if it is just excerpts from "the art of Alien Covenant" book which I already own.
i don't really mind the cover either. .it looks just fine. .in fact i got that poster as my desktop background currently. .i change it every week or 2. .also do my own digital art. .just gonna look now. .i posted one in the fan poster thread a while back. .got f**kall responce tho. .lol

Anyway, I see these guys are doing a steelbook with the UK and Aliens Vs. Engineers posters as cover-art.

Yeah I think those early posters of the egg or alien on it's own would have worked better with the Alien Vs. Engineers cover. Or just a plain black background.
I like the cover - simple and evocative, a classic image
The DVD release of Prometheus had a horrible cover - a bunch of excessively photoshop filtered head shots and a screen grab of the ship. That looked amateurish - fortunately the blu was classier.
I love how Fassbender is in the center for the DVD.

That's true. It's utterly cheesy. Obviously we don't judge movie by its DVD/Blu-ray cover but it's nice to have ascetically decent cover.
I find the new cover to be fairly consistent with the Prometheus cover so that works fine. Not an issue whatsoever. It's not a bad image of an Alien either.
Looks like a lot of deleted scenes. I thought the last Supper was a deleted segment as well as the crossing. Those are separate from the deleted scenes. Looking Nice, I like the mediabook design as well.
Anybody know if the crew messages will be included? What about the Audi commercial? Meet Walter?
I think those crew messages were priceless. They are really important for character development. Otherwise when watching the movie, you forget who is who pretty quickly. I mean I won't, since I am a fan of the film, but I think most people had a problem with connecting with any of the characters. Very little character development. So it would be really useful if the viral videos were included of the crew messages...
Huh, yeah they're missing from the special features. I wonder why. ???
Perfect-Organism-Meet Walter is definitely in there,I've not seen the crew messages at all.The Audi commercial is obviously not in there.Notice when Fassbender delivered that line reading".....the perfect organism.....he delivered it a'la Ian Holm, that was one of the small touches in AC I actually appreciated..and him singing"The Man Who Broke The Bank at Monte Carlo"totally deranged-TE Lawrence sang that in LOA when he was stranded in the desert..... ::)
worst cover ive seen
Great.... Another lazy, no director's cut Bluray from Scott for a film that could
use all the help it can get. Worse yet, like PROMETHEUS, they dangle the deleted
scenes in front of you so you can kind of imagine what a proper director's cut may have
looked like if they gave a shit enough to do one. I just don't get it!
He did extended cuts of THE MARTIAN and THE COUNSELOR.
PROMETHEUS deffinently could have used the extra footage inserted, I don't know if
the extra footage for this one will be significant or not but lack of care is all over this.
They didn't even make a cool documentary on it.

Or cheap.
Everything about the home video release reuses existing materials.
The cover is a still. No need to pay for the design of a new cover.
The special features are all marketing virals and deleted scenes as-is.
Commentary by Scott was probably recorded before release, like Prometheus.
Now they use the existing theatrical trailer to market home video.
They are minimizing their costs. Prometheus made twice as much, so it got a great home video release. The Counselor was cheap and didn't have a lot of special effects. It was easy to make a director's cut, which was actually more like the writer's cut, made at the insistence of Cormac McCarthy, as I recall. The Martian made three times as much money as Covenant and was nominated for Best Picture. They added ten minutes of deleted scenes that did not require much work to complete. Exodus did not make very much money and would require a lot of resources to do a director's cut. We didn't get one, probably never will, but at least we got a decent collector's edition Blu-Ray with a nice documentary. Robin Hood wasn't very profitable so it had almost no special features and a cheap director's cut that had few additional effects except cheap CG blood to make it unrated.
It makes sense to me that Fox does not want to invest in a long cut of Covenant, yet. It would probably be expensive to produce because of special effects and they won't boost sales - unless they double dip. If it does really well on home video, which it might, maybe we will get an extended cut with some cheaper dialogue scenes restored, maybe some gore, the Making of Fear documentary, and they will recycle Scott's commentary and give us all the viral material they left out of the initial release. And a better cover using that impressive theatrical poster.
Maybe.

I have no regrets about paying full price for Prometheus. I had a mixed initial reaction, but the more I watch it, the more I admire and enjoy it. Its hugely underrated by Alien fans, imo. Critics who specialize in sci-fi adore it for good reason. Alien fans enjoy it the least for the same reason I enjoy Covenant the least: it isn't what they wanted. You could get Prometheus used very cheaply and I guarantee you will learn to appreciate it more if you watch the special features and then give the movie a few more tries. Like John Kenneth Muir wrote, it has twice the depth of Blade Runner and many times the depth of Alien. Its reputation is quite strong and continuing to grow. Eventually it will be ranked with Scott's best - just not by contemporary Alien fans.
That Alien on the cover of the Blu-Ray, who's idea was that? They actually think that was a good one? One of the worst ideas/aliens ever...probably lost 75 mil in ticket sales alone with that. And now another 5 mil in less Blu Rays.

To Protozoid: Yes I don't understand why some people hate Prometheus. The whole thing could have been a masterpiece if the actors didn't make any ridiculous decisions and screenplay was smarter. As well as adding a bit more Alien element to it. The scenery/story/music/pacing is fantastic.
The biggest slap to the face from Covenant was thinking that there would be no more stupid acting decisions (No helms on planets, decisions, etc etc) and than only to see it and realize it's INFESTED with horrible dumb acting decision. I mean in Alien and Aliens there is not one acting decision or scene that made no sense. Everything was very well written and acted and thought of. If that is too much to ask? Like do people like stupidity or what? I don't get it how someone can say Covenant was a good movie for the franchise. I think I liked a total of 2 or 3 scenes.

Well said Protozoid. It is a good way to think of the film. If you go in as an Aliens fan with preconceived notions about the aliens as a species, you will be disappointed. But otherwise, the film is pretty good. I would say the major twist in Covenant was just as big as in Prometheus. Scott delivered. ...and yes, Prometheus will be remembered well I think. Eventually. I would definitely suggest a re-edit to fix some things...

What if I turn the brightness way down? Like to AvP:R levels?
It could work, but you'd be taking a mighty risk
Did anyone sh!t their pants btw? There should been more Human Skull alien looking things. The grown neomorph was pretty damn scary looking and well made. Until it crouched like some bug to avoid bouncing bullets. Smart scene there..wonder which genius thought of ruined something that could have turned into an all time great scene. They should cut the part where David is talking to it, cut an extra scene of the head floating round and round...look it's a head wow...and delete that whole scene when that bozo captain in charge starts shooting at it.
It would have been smarter if the grown neomorph just went away after killing that broad that went for a walk in the park. Actually cut that scene too and replace it with her seeing a weird looking shadow moving around awkwardly in some dark corridor or cave.
Half my team just got decimated and one actress decides to go for a walk in the park another decides to shove his head in an egg. These 2-3 scenes alone probably costed the movie 2 full rating points. Incredible whoever wrote these scenes..just incredible.
Wow, a lot of typos, sorry about that.
I meant to say I didn't understand so many of these scenes that made no sense.
Especially:
- Landing on an aluen planet, and coming out with no helmet, again...I thought they actually read the memo that a similar scene in Prometheus...was not very bright.
- Your crewmate is screaming I'm not infected, open the damn door because there is something coming out if your other crewmate's BACK, because it's clearly visible he's been infected, but no, don't open and than close the door and both get guns or run and call for backup, and tell your freed crewmate if you come near me I'll shoot you.
Instead, run away, come back a 2nd time to see how they are doing, than come back a 3rd time with a gun, open the door to do who knows what at this point, miss the target 5 times while firing blanks, than run away again while slipping like a pure goof, all just to have a little neomorph smash the door in the end. And than just blow everything up, hahahaha. Real smart.
3- Also the final scene inside the spaceship with the final big chap wannabe, was ridiculous, it looked like they stole some scenes from Alien Isolation, (Anyone remember the scene hiding behind crates in the hangar and Alien walking back and forth?), and the story stolen from Alien. The whole blow it out to space sh!t once more, here we go hang tight while I CGI this thing yo. One of the worst Alien scenes ever...during most shots especially when it's climbing around...very scary wow.

That Alien on the cover of the Blu-Ray, who's idea was that? They actually think that was a good one? One of the worst ideas/aliens ever...probably lost 75 mil in ticket sales alone with that. And now another 5 mil in less Blu Rays.
How did the alien on a blu ray cover cost 75 mill in ticket sales?
Don't get in the way of the hyperbolic rage.
The trailer was on YouTube. Nothing new. Just a different ending title card about the Blu-ray.
Thanks to Quarax for pointing it out to me.

If you think your ideas are 'smarter', my advice, don't ever become a script writer.

He talked about a 12 minute sequence that bridged Prometheus to Covenant.
Seems the only thing we get from that it's the 2 min crossing viral.
Those deleted scenes are weak >:(
We still don't know what the viral video "Advent" is about, and that's part of the same section as The Crossing. Fingers crossed the remaining Shaw/David material has been worked into that.
I think Advent maybe a promotional piece with David drawing stuff on Paradise. Dane and Matt spoke about it in their interview with Perfect Organism and in the interview I recorded with them recently (being released soon).
I assume Phobos is going to be about the launch of the Covenant from Martian orbit. Complete guess though. I've no idea. Could be related to the Greek god, Phobos though.
So nothing with Shaw? Oh.
It looks like we'll get to see Daniels' awesome apartment in a flashback, though.

No footage from the last 20 mins,no Alien smashing through the shower, miffed.
Also, no extended shower scene? And the scene where Daniels and Lope are shooting at the Neomorph/Xenomorph is also missing. Oh, and it would have been nice to have the alternate ending scene. :(
I wonder if they would have needed to pay Rapace for using her deleted scenes? My disappointment over this movie continues to deepen with every single press release. It's a perfect storm of decisions that upset me.

Phobos is one of the 2 moons around Mars, so it makes sense. It also stands for "fear" from Greek. BTW when I was 6 years old, I was already obsessed with Ancient Greece and Rome, as well as astronomy. I still remember reading about Phobos and Deimos 25 years ago...
I was obsessed with astronomy too. The scars of Miranda... The cryo-volcanoes of Triton...
VERY disappointed that the scenes with Shaw and David aren't included here, but what we do have is very good. Day one pick up for me.
Thank's for posting this-that artwork is phemonenal!!Will that be in the book???Is it already available??
Cannot wait to see those scenes. Especially longer Prologue and Crossing the Plaza. And yes, I'm also disappointed about lack of Shaw.
Now seeing what deleted scenes were and were not included on the blu-ray, they cut 30 minutes from the film, not the 20 minutes that was mentioned around the press circuit. Hopefully several years down the road, their reinserted in a special edition with the prequel trilogy boxset.
I'm disappointed in the lack of Shaw scenes too. That, the alternative endings, and some of the other scenes mentioned from the test report screenings but not included here makes me think they are holding them back for something else.
I'm mostly interested in the extended prologue, Crossing the Plaza and Stairs to Eggroom. There might be some nice connections to Prometheus in them. I just hoped there was more Shaw... I mean, they must have shot more than what was in the film and The Crossing? Reportedly Noomi Rapace filmed for 6 weeks. Maybe they'll somehow use it for the next film as flashbacks.
If the shooting script leaks, then we'll know the extent of what was filmed.

Whoa! If that's true, then there's a ton of footage hidden somewhere in Fox.
Yeah, exactly what I'm thinking. I definitely remember reading reports saying that she was there for at least a few weeks. I hope we'll see everything they filmed someday.
It's also possible Ridley is hoping to use some of the Shaw footage for another flashback or even an opening sequence to the next/final film.
This movie if anything made Alien 3 a lot more appreciated.

I wouldnt say adored. Both theatrical and assembly cuts still have plenty of flaws. But i think the Alien community as a whole probably rates it higher than your average person would
No deleted Neomorph verses Alien fight?
It would make sense to withhold the more interesting deleted material for the future - if a re-release or extended version was planned.
Alien3-Assembly Cut is a downbeat masterpiece!!I really hold a candle to it!Seeing it for the first time is "up there"with seeing River Phoenix's Dark Blood for the first time in 2012.The scenes shot by Jordan Cronenweth are up there with his work in BladeRunner&Altered States......
re the Neomorph vs Alien fight ... it was never finished, was it? So the only footage would be the actors on set reacting etc?
It would require a lot of work to turn that into a sequence that would make any sense, and since the film was only released in May, I can't imagine Ridley would have any interest in sitting down to create a new sequence he didn't want at the time.
No?

Which scenes did he shoot?
SM He shot the infirmary scenes-the opening ones with Rip&Clemens, the bathroom sink scene where she showers, shaves, and wipes the steam from the mirror. Also, bedroom scene with Clemens, and the following frame dissolve.
I suspected he did the shower/ bugwash stuff as you see behind the scenes footage of him on set in those locations. Wasn't sure what else he'd done.
If Rosenthal is saying a Jewish prayer and gets killed.. it's like the ultimate statement on religion.
SM Right-Shame he fell ill,but his legacy is secure! In Wreckage&Rage you can see the esteem&Respect David Fincher had in the manner he quietly deferred to him:)
Question to the extended cut strand of this forum;Am I to understand the total running time of extended scenes is now thirty minutes?,i.e. 1/2 an hour? This is a good thing to look forward to! ::) ::)
I thought some scenes were filmed with the costumes. The practical neomorph was ruff and unfinished looking.
No mention of anything extended in the 3rd act? Yikes. We know there is a longer cut of the Shower scene...
It still irks me that so many of the deleted scenes from Prometheus and Alien 3 have never been released.
Also this shot of the Derelicts in the pit... It makes me wonder whether or not - should Ridley go with the colonists becoming the eggs on the Derelict - its actually Walter who takes one of these Derelicts to rescue the colonists, who are already mutating and if he doesn't end up being the one who ends up in the pilots chair. Pure speculation.
And whatever happened to Walter? We saw David raise the knife&Jack the ship.Is he abandoned on Planet 4?Anybody have a theory??
What are the many unreleased deleted scenes from Prometheus and Alien 3?

Thing is there's nothing to extend in the third act, you just be making it even worse. The third act only get's better if there's actually some stalking/hunting elements added with another death or two thrown in.
Itll soon be timer another fan edit lol
The third act could only be better if it had more aliens/less aliens/giger's original design/new alien designs/more prometheus engineers/less prometheus-y stuff/old school ship corridors/new internal design/pulse rifles!/sharp sticks/jonesy the cat.
Obviously.
Wow. It somehow seems like a really early dvd release date. Wasn't expecting it until september/october. Mind you, Life was in theaters just a few weeks before Covenant, and the Life DVD is available already. 3 months gap between theater and dvd release isn't that unusual, but it does feel early. Not that I'm complaining.
Disappointed the DVD isn't an extended cut, but after Prometheus, I know the drill...

What are the many unreleased deleted scenes from Prometheus and Alien 3?
In Prometheus there are lots of stuff in the trailers not in the final film. For instance, during the Fifield attack, Shaw and Weyland come into the cargo hold, with his guards firing as the elevator doors open, and it ends up being Shaw that ends up running over Fifield.
In the Alien 3 workprint there is a bunch of stuff that should have been kept. There's an especially great take of Ripley THINKING ABOUT WHETHER to go with BISHOP, that I absolutely love and there's even more I cant think of right now. It used to be on Youtube but Im at a loss for finding it now.
Glad to hear that there's a smattering of deleted footage included with the 'viral' clips, as I'll look forward to including certain footage into a new re-cut eventually.
At this point, I choose to look on this whole PROMETHEUS storyline as merely an alternate,'re-interpretation' of the source material (in the same kind of way I look on the 2 AvP movies)...as I prefer to retain the mysterious qualities of ALIEN's giant, Giger-esque 'Space Jockey' skeleton the way I originally looked at it.
I may not like the direction Ridley took with his 'Engineer in a suit' / 'David as a Xenomorph creator' scenarios, but I find the PROMETHEUS/COVENANT movies re-watchable enough if I seperate them from his original movie. Ridley is a fabulous visualist, but some of his 'creative choices' with these 'prequels' have been pretty dodgy, as far as I'm concerned. :P
To be honest, for my own version of PROMETHEUS, I'll be removing the awful side-on shot of the Engineer being 'suited up' in the chair altogether - as far as I'm concerned, this should have been a major 'money shot'...but it turned out to have some very unconvincing CGI of the 'snorkel' attaching and 'ribbed' appendages wrapping around. Even though I'm looking on these movies as a completely 'alternative take', I just can't include that particular shot in my own re-edit, as it's so disappointingly done in my view!
...and the same goes for those shoddy-looking 'Xeno-vision' shots in COVENANT, by the way. For such a 'perfect organism', it sure has some poor eyesight! :o
But the vast majority of Ridley's footage is beautifully filmed and executed, and certain additions made PROMETHEUS a far more satisfying watch for me compared to his existing 'theatrical' cut. And the same will apply to my eventual COVENANT re-edit too, I'm sure...as I already like some of 'The Crossing' footage, especially where David is alone with the 'Engineer statues(suits?), for instance.
And by looking on these 'prequels' as not actually being 'prequels' to ALIEN after all, this certainly helps smooth away any other visual inconsistencies these movies have to the original for me, too. So I'm very content to look on them this way.
^ Lol! Xenovision... Poor eyesight...
Should've gone to Specsavers :-)
Those deleted scenes, David revealing his motivation behind selection of the music piece, Mother questioning Walter humming to plants, Daniels turning down Walter's offer to perform a funeral service, Oram suggesting Daniels to take some time off and cry it out to which she disapproves, etc. I think this is what Pietro Scalia meant, that the film was supposed to be full of unpleasant moments of disagreement. I'm not dissatisfied with the final product in the slightest, and I think if this film was even more uncomfortable for a casual viewer, which no doubt it would be if those scenes were inserted, I think it'd earn even less.
@ motherfather - that was one of the things which 'took me right out of the movie' on first viewing. Personally, I wasn't keen on Ridley giving the Xenomorph a videogame-like, first-person-point-of-view to begin with...and certainly not such a murky-looking one.
If we had to have a POV shot, I think it would have been more effective to have it be able to 'zoom-in' on a close-up on the fearful eyes of someone who looked around as they were being chased, or something which showed much better clarity at least. It just didn't work for me.
Anyway, like David's flute-playing moment of the PROMETHEUS soundtrack, onto the cutting floor they will go for my own version of COVENANT. ;D
(while I understand the notion that the PROMETHEUS music can retrospectively be seen to be a clever inclusion of the the tune that David composes himself, I just find that too much of a distraction myself)
However, I'm confident that some of the deleted scenes will offer at least one of two nicely-filmed moments that I'll definately want to see included in COVENANT.

With Alien 3 apart from the lengthened scene you mentioned I'm struggling to think of 'many' or 'loads' of deleted material beyond the rare line of dialogue (like Aaron's 'You going to need a bigger cage than that' or talk about 'deoderant' when Rains, Boggs and Golic go off foraging).

The bit with Shaw and Weyland isn't especially deleted - just re-ordering that resulted in them losing that short series of shots.
There's the confrontation between Ripley and the Alien down in the basement. Ripley attempting to anger the creature into killing her by attacking it with an iron bar - which it swipes aside.
I don't believe the basement scene was in the workprint.
There are photos SOMEWHERE of a cocoon/egg chamber-like thing with the same Blue-light covering a SINGLE(?) egg or something. I remember seeing a photo of this scene somewhere and then - never again.

Does anyone know if the upcoming 6 film boxset will include Covenant's deleted scenes and featurettes (Phobos/Advent)?
When is that boxset out? I deliberately ignored special Polish releases of separate Alien films (with posters bundled) on Blu-ray holding out for this boxset...Now I think it was a bad idea :( I would love to have those posters :(

QuoteDo you think you have what it takes to be a member of the Covenant crew?
Find out at Twentieth Century Fox's Home Entertainment Booth #3529 at San Diego Comic-Con as they test your mettle in the Alien: Covenant Colonist Certification Test.
They're not just giving out free hugs for this test. You'll be required to handle stressful situations like the crew of the Covenant did. Dealing with xenomorphs is not something to be taken lightly, so bring your A-game to show the Weyland-Yutani corporation you've got what it takes.
Upon completion of your assessment, you'll be rewarded with your very own "Colonist Certification Badge" and a set of collectible pins from Weyland-Yutani and the Covenant. Additionally, you'll have a chance to pre-order your copy of Alien: Covenant on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD and receive one of 500 limited edition lithographs as a gift with purchase while supplies last. Fans can pre-order at the "Colonist Certification Test" Booth #3529 or at the main Fox booth #4229.
The fun isn't limited to inside the convention center. If you're downtown during SDCC, you'll have the opportunity to take photos with the "Secure Egg Transport" that will be traveling throughout the Gaslamp. Employees of Weyland-Yutani will attempt to guard these fragile but deadly eggs while you tempt fate with a selfie. Those that tweet using the hashtag #AlienSweepstakes during SDCC will be entered to win an authentic Alien: Covenant replica (we hope) facehugger. For complete rules visit: Alienuniverse.com/Sweeps.

It'll be a guy dressed up like David and he will say "stick your head in this" and if you do, the family fortunes "bow bow" sounds out and you get evacuated from the booth then given a certificate that says "crew member"
Looks like Australia gets a nice release date. I'm buying it for the commentary.
Was tempted to cancel my blu-ray preorder and go 4K instead (future proof!) because it also comes with a blu-ray disc, but by the time I go 4K the third film will probably be out and there'll be a nice 7-film box...
I can't decide if I'm getting the Blu Ray or if I'll just get digital. They usually have the deleted scenes and stuff with digital and that's pretty much all I'm interested in.
Hey guys, just letting you know that Covenant is available on digital today and it has the special features on Vudu. I can't wait to see the Master Class features.
I recently bought this and the viral marketing video called 'Advent' is pretty sick! Poor Shaw! It also definitely confirms that David is the creator of the Xeno. The film does that, but this video puts the speculation to rest.

Whoa! That's opening a can of worms regarding the Corporation. One can speculate they know what happened, and the corporation sent the Covenant to rendezvous on Paradise for David to experiment on the colonists. In addition, this settles the debate if there's going to be a Queen in the prequel series.

Speculating here, perhaps, just perhaps, this 'queen' could be the one who births those eggs in the juggernaut found in LV-426, instead of the egg morphing theory that's been thrown about recently. Though, now knowing that Fox is reassessing on what to do with the prequel trilogy, we might be left with only speculating and theorizing.
The video hints that Daniels is going to be the Queen. As David is talking about his plans it shows a shot of Daniels in cryo sleep.

Now that becomes even more creepy since Daniels asked David what did he do to Shaw, and he replies the same thing that I'm going to do to you.
With how he treats her corpse here, I have to question if David really loved her? Maybe he did, but he sure has a strange way of showing it.

He's gone loopy, remember. Fassbender said in the Collector's Edition how he killed Shaw so she couldn't ever leave him. I kinda liked that psychotic angle to his motivation.

Well, now Im looking forward to seeing "Advent"... though its sad to hear that hes picking Shaw apart. I pre-ordered my copy from Target with the neat little book. Ive always liked little collectors pieces like that!
Currently tearing thru the Alien Covenant novelization... which Im quite enjoying much more than the movie due to how detailed it is and lets in on what the characters are thinking and feeling (the opening scene with David and Weyland was MUCH better in the book). But, books have a lot of room to convey said detail that films cannot do, which is always a treat :) (ie: Arrival vs The Story of Your Life, both are amazing, but the book was able to convey LOTS of details the film left out)
Heres hoping that the prequel novel intersplices some story line of "The Crossing" with the main storyline of the Covenant crew!

I'm afraid not. That's pretty much absent from the novel from what I remember.
Alright, I couldn't wait. I bought an iTunes download to see Advent. (I'm happy to give this film more money anyway.)
That was AWESOME! So creepy and dark. The idea of David being the creator was hard to swallow at first, but I've really grown to love it.

Yes, I would have really liked to see a 12-minute alternate beginning the way it was originally planned and described by Pietro Scalia. The home video deleted scenes all seem like inconsequential and superficial cuts. Makes me wonder if there are juicier Prometheus scenes still in a vault somewhere.

As time passes those 12 minutes will become like the illusive workprint of Alien 3 that for years many spoke about until Fox finally decided to release it for the Anthology release. That cut greatly improved upon the film. I have feeling that will happen also with Covenant, though I hope it doesn't take 10 to 12 years for that sequence to finally see the light of day.
ok, THAT was awesome!!! answers quite a few lingering and rather obnoxious questions i had floating around my dark and strange little mind!
Spoiler
sad to see Shaw was used for harvest of her internals, but i already concluded David did this... especially her reproductive organs. however, its nice to know that he cleared up some mysteries on the accelerant (even though most of this had been put forth via the Fire and Stone comics, good to know Ridley DIDNT ignore this). the Queen comment is obvious foreshadowing to the Queen alien (sometimes the most obvious answers tend to be the correct ones). nice to know Ridley isnt destroying canon with retconning the queen Xenomorph.. will be interesting to see her pop up in the next prequel/sequel. also, this transmission is a nice way to allude to Weyland Yutani knowing about the Xenomorph in future films and answers why they have such a clear and straight forward clause in their contracts about discovering alien life... theyve been hunting for the Xenomorph!
though i would still like to see the footage of Shaw and David that was cut from the film (given i loved Shaws character a lot)... 10 years of travel and discovery of the Engineers history is a bit much to leave out. maybe one day it will leak :)
Thanks for sharing, Echo!
The way the short video was edited made it seem like the xeno was the wolf David referred to. The long version makes it clear that David is referring to the Engineers. I'm back to thinking that the Engineers on LV-223 had rebelled against the peaceful ones on Paradise and been outcast.
I wonder if the exclusion of the Shaw stuff is Fox not wanting to give people proof that they dropped the ball?
I still like the film, but, y'know...

this has been a long and on going theory among some of us... im pretty much certain that the Engineers shown in the beginning of Prometheus (both theatrical and deleted scene) aaaaaaaaand the Engineers on the planet in Covenant are the same faction. The Engineers on LV-223 were a war mongering faction which split due to the peaceful Engineers wanting to retain religion with rejection of a technology based populace versus the warring faction who kept technology in their forefront.
and again, what leads credence to this is the easter egg in Aliens: Colonial Marines. fox said the game was canon, including the "prometheus easter egg"... soooooooooooooo the wolf that David refers to is most likely this warring faction.

Perhaps it was having his head torn off and used as a club, that caused irreparable damage to his android brain, rather than lack of maintenance? Or Shaw missed something in wiring him back up? (it's supposed to be simple) Shaw should never have done so, but had she not, she would have been trapped on LV-223 with a quickly-developing Deacon for company. I'd really like to know what her final moments were - a mystery as great as Lambert's.

I thought it was simply the fact that he was programmed to be too human, too emotional, and he doesn't quite understand how to handle his programmed approximations of feelings... which is super interesting and makes for a great, dark, creepy origin for the alien.

Yeah, those were all scenes where I understand why they were cut. They don't add anything and they are not particularly well written or performed.
The greenhouse scene was decent. The extended plaza scene was good but it was rightfully cut because it raised more questions than it answered. I also thought the flashback was decent. Everything else was superfluous. The Advent on the other hand, is amazing. It gives us more info about David's creation and what happened to Shaw, more info about the Engineers' "way". It delivers on things we didn't get (enough of) in the movie. Wish they had found a way to put these things into the movie itself instead of having it as a viral (unreleased) video.
I like all the deleted moments, especially the ones with Daniels and Walter. They do come off as disappointing because we know there's more footage that we'd love to see.

Yeah, exactly. They're nice, but I wanted more! Especially more Shaw material.
I don't understand why they didn't because they know fans love that kind of stuff. And it's perfect material for the home video market to increase sales. Oh well, I'm willing to double dip on both Prometheus and Covenant if they get new editions in the future.

Seems odd for a viral campaign given the final edit of the film never even alluded to that confrontation in the sleep chamber room. I personally found it excellent and tense - wish it was part of the final film.
What of the lunging red tunnel sequence?

How common is this thing? To have scenes in the trailer that are not in the movie. From my perspective it's a pretty dumb f**king thing to do, but I dunno, maybe it's normal in the movie industry, I'm not really a connoisseur.
Well they're not trailers, per se. But internet based campaigns with additional content aren't that unusual.

What about the scene with the xeno jumping in the corridor? Nowhere to be found in the movie or deleted scenes AFAIK, but it's in the trailer. It just bugs me, not because I personally care that much, but because I'm worried that things like this add up in relation to the overall reception.
That was a deleted sequence. And it's not unusual for shots in trailers to be missing from the film either.
We haven't seen all the deleted scenes we know about on the Blu-ray for whatever reason.
I have no idea why they didn't include this shot in the film? For me that's a money shot, but maybe it was only meant for promotional material? I know it was shown in one of the test screenings in a very unfinished state.
I also wonder if the Alien POV shot was a replacement for this. In the movie one of the POV's is of the creature moving through this corridor.
Because it's a crappy looking shot. Looks like something from the late 90s.

Pretty funny though!
I'm sad to see that the missing action sequence from the first test screening is nowhere to be found on this release. It was a short scene near the end of the movie but I honestly thought it was cool (Daniels and Lope find themselves fighting off the Neo and the Xeno literally back to back, firing away at both as they try to reach Tennessee and the Lander). That's kind of the sad reality of these test screenings. If you're lucky enough to get invited you may end up seeing stuff that will never again see the light of day. I've watched completely different cuts of films that never even made it to the bonus features.

The thing is though, if your'e lucky enough to attend a test screening, how would you know what to look out for? You'd have to concentrate on every scene and line of dialogue, because you wouldn't know what would get the chop until weeks, perhaps months later.
Here's my personal review of the Alien Covenant Blu-Ray, out this week in the US. My review of the movie is still very positive. Special features on the disc are pretty underwhelming however with David's Illustrations probably the most interesting part of it.

I've also updated the Deleted Scenes page with the new additions from the set:

I really need to watch the film again and the steelbook is really nice.. but I need the special edition. I don't know if buying it twice would be worth it.
I'm still absolutely gutted that CdL isn't involved but I'm keen to see that behind-the-scenes documentary!
Another home release trailer.

Anybody know if Costco Canada is carrying a special edition of AC blu-ray? Or is the version in stores basically the same thing?
I just bought the special booklet edition at Target that Hicks linked above because Best Buy was already sold out of the 4k Steelbook. It's very classy.

Unaware of any alternate release in Canada, apart from the Best Buy steelbook (you're a Toronto guy, right? Yonge and Dundas didn't have it, but they've got the regular release).
i got my target special edition today... was very impressed with the little artbook. that picture of the neomorph biting whats her face on the neck was brutal!!!
I was considering getting the Best Buy steelbook but I ended up getting the Target Blu-ray special edition because of the booklet. The artwork and pictures are great, very happy with my purchase.

I got it too. It's a nice little booklet. I still think the Best Buy exclusive steel case was the best. I'll take some pictures later on. A lot of it the images are from the The Story and Art Making of book. There was some stuff I'd never seen though.
Some guy just uploaded an unboxing video of the new Alien 6 Film Collection. The original movie poster cards are a nice bonus. Me want.

The cards are nice... but otherwise, it's definitely a bare bones set for the filthy casuals. :P
I'm hoping for something fancier, like that Prometheus to Alien Evolution set. Until then, I've gone with the Target release for Covenant.
Just echoing what the guys above are saying. The cards are pretty cool but the set itself seems pretty bare - no features disk - which is a shame. I guess it's one for the collectors.
I just went through all the features. David's illustrations goes into quite a lot of detail. Phobos is weird, but interesting short film, isn't there also something like this for Prometheus with crew interviews and such?. I really like Advent, that's my favourite.
The deleted scenes are all good, they should have been left in the film. I especially like The Crossing and Daniels Apartment on Earth. They add a bit more depth.
Watching it again on blu-ray, such a shame there might not be a sequel now, but instead Aliens remake/reboot (probably). The series is going in such an interesting direction to fall back to derivativeness.

Nice cover.
I like the art, but it really bugs me how the front of the cover specifies that it "INCLUDES THE THEATRICAL & THE UNRATED VERSION OF ALIEN3 AND ALIEN RESURRECTION"... But it includes both cuts of Alien and Aliens as well. Why specify this for 3 & 4 but not 1 & 2?
Man, that 'Master Class' documentary was weaksauce. The usual compliments being passed back and forth, intercut with the usual shots of the cast and crew laughing.
Come back, CdL! We're dyin' here! :D

Yep, exactly what I was afraid of. :(
Maybe the special edition will have a better documentary, but probably not. Will there even be a special edition?
This person points out how all four transmission 'special order' codes on the ADVENT video precede special order #937 in the original Alien, which of course amounted to 'bring back life-form, all other priorities rescinded'. I didn't notice this.
i figured the special order 937 code was BECAUSE of the transmission David sends back to home. its apparent in the way the clause is talked about in the original Alien. basically if a transmission is detected that could indicate alien life is ignored, all shares will be forfeit by the WY employee. because of Advent, now we know why WY has been hunting so desperately for alien life and why its such a priority to them that if the transmission is ignored, the employee is screwed out of their shares and the whole reason SO 937 exists.... they want the engineers/davids creation!

I just picked up the normal version at Best Buy. They didn't have the case version. Lots of on-line goodies not included in the release. Too bad, but the commentary was not bad. Ridley doesn't strike me as very deep in his monologue. I get the feeling that he is completely oblivious to his film's shortcomings...

QuoteLast week, one of the most divisive films of 2017 landed on Blu-ray and streaming services like iTunes and Vudu. There have been a few conversation starters this year, including "The Beguiled," "Okja" and "A Cure for Wellness," but I believe I've been in more heated conversations about the latest from Ridley Scott than any other film. People who dislike it, really dislike it, usually falling back on criticisms about moronic space travelers and some nonsense about perversion of the concepts of the original franchise. As much as any film in recent memory, those of us who admire "Alien: Covenant" seem to be seeing a different film than those who hate it—like two people looking at the same ink blot and coming up with completely different interpretations. Personally, it's a film I admire more each time I watch it (and that I suspect will be held in high esteem in about a decade as is often the case with films like this one). It's daring, philosophically dense, thematically complex, and the degree of craft in the movie is almost overwhelming. Even the film's detractors often opened with "It looks great, but ..." as if "looking great" was easy or common. It's not and it's not.

QuoteThe 20th Century Fox sci-fi sequel Alien: Covenant debuted at No. 1 on the NPD VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended Aug. 19.
Covenant, which earned $74.2 million at the domestic box office, is a follow-up to the 2012 film Prometheus and the sixth film in the "Alien" franchise, not counting the "Alien vs. Predator" movies. It is also the third "Alien" film directed by Ridley Scott, and, like Prometheus, is a prequel to his 1979 original Alien.
Notably, 14% of Covenant sales were in the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format, the most the UHD format has accounted for sales in the first week of a major theatrical film debuting on disc. Blu-ray in total accounted for 74% of Covenant unit sales. Paramount's Ghost in the Shell had set the mark three weeks earlier with 11.4%.

I'll definitely give it another go, but I don't quite see how viewers are misunderstanding it. The complaints are legitimate ones that carry across any film like bad CGI and undeveloped characters, which are completely orthogonal to the (also legitimate) concerns from the actual fans.
I didnt think the cgi was bad at all.
The CGI was put in really awkward places making it look fake. It looked good when the Alien was on the ship though. Really like the sleek design and the features that explain the design is really well done.

Quotelien: Covenant arrives on Digital Download in the UK from September 4th, and on DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray from September 18th. And to salute this, we've joined forces with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment for a very special event!
The event takes place on September 7th in London (next Thursday).
The evening will begin with a (soft!) drinks reception, and then you'll get an exclusive look at the extras from the upcoming Alien: Covenant release.
After that? A Q&A with the following people:
Conor O'Sullivan, the Prosthetics Supervisor on the film
Toby Dye (Phobos director)
And there's more! The event will be taking place at Madame Tussauds, and there will be an Alien: Experience on board the Covenant ship with live actors, as well as a wax figure of Michael Fassbender's character, Walter too. It should be quite a night!
For UK members.
After my repeated viewings, I find it a little more enjoyable. But still really disliked it overall. Overall the third act was just too short and not really that great. In fact I know the opening was a little slow, but I was really into it and liking it until the backburster scene. But I'm sure over time it may grow on me a little more :)
I've had the Bluray Steelbook since mid August yet today was the first time I watched it... anyone else have problems with the film being overtly dark?
Most likely my TV brightness however I've never had this problem with other BR or DVDs in my collection.
Not that I can remember.
So.. anyone know why there isn't a proper special edition with extra bonus features like Prometheus?
Nope.
I know why.
Tell Us! lol
Because Fox decided not to do one. ;)
...So far.
Its so simple lol
