I love Prometheus production design, the recreation of the chair is truly fantastic- but I can't help thinking if R.S is unwilling to scale up the Engineer, why not scale down the chair itself?

I agree - the chair is great.
the smaller proportions engineer might not be the same creature as the SJ, so it does not have to fit in the chair.
I would be glad if Sir Scot come with engineers just being another creation in the 3rd movie...

I couldn't agree more. There was a whole world of other possibilities, but eh. Even if I was never fond of the idea of explaining their mystery in the first place...

I still love the Engineers. I think they're hugely creepy. But I'll never not want them to be something separate to the actual Space Jockeys, so I still have to cling to the fan theory that the Engineers are just imitating the Jockeys.

Hell, the black goo/Aliens could have been something designed specifically by the "true" Jockey's as a combat to the Engineers, which is why they also seem so suited against mankind too.
