*spoilers*
ok, yeah. there are hybrid's running around. however their most distinguishing factor isn't their face mandibles as you'd think but the tails. they stand out a lot more as well as the head shape. not very noticeable dreds either. they are a little bit tougher to kill but not by much.

The game was O.K. I like playing skirmish and see how many alien kills I can rack up before time runs out. You can mix up your fighting styles a bit but not enough in my opinion. Between switching weapons (which is fairly slow paced and useless when in combat with a xeno, and tossing aliens around (grabbing one by it's tail and swinging it around or over the head tosses) there still is a repetitive feeling to the game. however in my opinion it is worth getting. it's not gonna grab you by the balls and not let go until you've beaten it 3 times, but it will have you comming back to it on your lunch break or after a TV. show, etc.

haha
yeah some would feel that way.

oh
*spoiler*
each level starts out with a little briefing.
ex.
"Ok, ya needa kill these guys, get this stuff and try not to kill those guys"
the last few "levels" start out with basicaly:
"the alien's are spreading"
"stop them from spreading underneath the city via sewer systems"
"ok there's a sh-t load of these bloody xeno's-try and stop 'em before they get a queen and form a hive"
(i doubt Wolf is anwhere near capable of taking on an alien hive)
and the last little cinematic shows air force jets  bombing the shit out of the town and a queen alien dying in the process.)

From what I've played so far, its only average.  I also have a bad time with it freezing.  Which sucks since I don't have a memory stick.

I'll give a more comprehensive review when I do, since the last level is bad about freezing on my psp slim.

Its not worth the 30 bucks I paid for it.

What about the hybrids, where are they from, dog alien, elk alien? What do they look like?

I don't know where they come from.  I've only seen drones, and super drones which I assume are molting queens do to their design.

Not that I've played it, but there is another proper review from http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=824524. Not bad, they gave it 7.4.

What's the replay value of this game? Is there extra things you can do after you beat it?

There are three routes that lead to the same finish.  The skirmish mode is weak, and the multi IS the skirmish mode.

Personally I'd nic it off ebay or let it drop in price before I got it, knowing now how it plays.

Its definately a playable game, but its rushed, and super repetitive.

It seems pretty accurate to the movie, what with pred going PEWPEWLASERS and mowing down thousands of aliens at a time. :P

I played this briefly, didn't go through the whole thing, but really everything that needs to be said is above. This game is a brief novelty, very repetitive (but without an old-school arcade feel that would warrant such repetition) with bland but not terrible --insert anything else about the game here--.

I bought it today and finished it today, it was a fun basic game, nothing complex, just strait forward missions, the only things I didn't like about the game was, there was hardly any weapons, after playing concrete jungle I imaged a large selection of weapons like in CJ, but there is only a few, the hand gun thing is fun.

the other thing is, there's no predalien, there is warrior aliens and, basically, praetorian aliens, and at the end you fight an army helicopter, the last cut scene as a queen alien emerge from the ground only to be destroyed by the army, I was really looking forward to seeing the predalien, but it was a let down not seeing it, the game is fun though, I just wished there was a little more to it, like un-lockable features and stuff.

I wont put something out of 5 because my games reviewing lecturer said that you either like the game or you don't so, what are you comparing it to?

So I like the game  ;D

I am going to restart it all again, I might find something new, one thing I didn't notice was, whilst I was in the cinemas, in the game, there is a film called space monster, it was basically the alien 1 movie poster but instead of the egg it was a white crap looking monster face over were the egg should be.    ;D

Well, heres my review:

Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem

Graphics
Really decent for a PSP title. The detail on Wolf and the Aliens is pretty impressive. I couldn't help every so often turning the camera to look at how cool Wolf looked. He looks just like he does in the movie, the mask is the same, the armour, the skin colour. You can even make out the symbols on the mask. The Aliens look really good too, it actually makes the AvP design look even better! The enviroments are rich with detail. The developers went to great lenghts to make the game look good. I didn't expect the water graphics to be very good, but I was wrong. The water in the swimming pool looks the same as the water in Halo.

Sound
Great stuff. You can tell a lot of work went into the sound. You can hear every footfall Wolf takes and every whir of the wristbaldes swinging. (For the full effect, I'd play with headphones). Every enviroment has it's own unique sounds. When your in the sewers, the place is alive with dripping water, pipes hissing and chains clanking. When your in the forest, the place is rich with ambience, rivers running and birds singing. The suburban places are full of police seriens, dog barks and gun shots. It really brings the game to life.

Controls
Very easy to learn and use. Pressing square does your basic wristblade attack (holding it causes a more powerful blow). Triangle causes you to go into first-person, in which you can tag enemies for later killing = more points. Circle is to use your sub-weapon and X is used to interact with objects. Pressing left on the D-pad, you go invisable, with is obviously very useful. Theres times in the game where it's best just to sneak past the enemy. However the Aliens can see right through it. Pressing up, you can change into three vision modes, thermal, alien and tech. They're not of any real use, the only reason I used them was to hear that classic Predator sound of the visions changing. Right enables you to switch sub-weapons. Pressing select, you go onto a map of the level in which is shows everything like your objectives, enemies and ship parts. You can also heal from here by pressing square.

Levels
As you've heard before, there are three different paths you can take through the story underground, industrial and suburban. They aren't really complex, the basic problem solver is to turn a wheel which shuts off a fire or destoying a machine which shuts of an electric fence. They all look pretty different from each other and create their own mood. Underground focuses on an eerie mood, while suburban focuses on action. Suburban being my favourite as it was weird fighting Aliens in a high school, a superstore and a cinema. In most levels there are ship parts in which you need to dissolve, you can find them by simply looking through your map. Each level if full of dead Hisk (Facehuggers) which also need dissolving. They're optional, by since theres a few on each level, they get you a good number of honour points.

Weapons

Wristblades - Pretty decent melee weapons. They get the job done, but an Alien will always manage an attack through them.

Shoulder cannon/Duel - Great distance weapons, the kill Aliens in three hits. Dual kills them in two, or one depending if you charge them up.

Spear - The best for melee, they kill all enemies in two hits (three for Pretorians)

Shurikan - Do the same damage as the shoulder cannons, but fire at a higher rate.

Throwing Disc - The best for long distance, the kill every and all enemies in one slice. (The time taken to through it though can leave you vurnerable)

Hand Cannon - The same power as the shoulder cannons/shurikan but is pretty fun to use.

Best - Spear and Throwing Disc

Enemies

Aliens - Aren't particulary difficult, they usually jump at you first and try to head bite you. You can counter by just pressing X when is says so. Pretorains aren't much harder, although you do get attacked by a large horde of them which can strip your health down quite a bit. It's always good to keep looking behind you, they are prone to sneaking up from behind. It's a shame that theres no hybrids in the game because you pass a good number of dog, cow and horse corspes.

Cops/Soldiers - Although the cops carry pistols and the army rifles, they aren't of any real threat. They are usually killed more easiliy than the Aliens.

Tanks - At some point in the game you encounter a few tanks. They cause great damage and have pretty accurate shots. None of your weapons can harm it, so all thats left to do is run.

Connections to AvP
This is quite a starnge one. On the first level you find the cloaked crashed scout ship, obviously from AvPR. When you go inside, it's corridors look very AvP-like. The corridors eventually open up to a trophy room exactly like Predator 2. You go through another AvP-like corridor and eventually an altar room identical to AvP. What makes it even weider is that theres a dead Predator on the altar. It can't be Scar because it has a mask on and theres no blood around it's chest. Could this be in AvPR too?

Connections to AvPR
None really. Basic story is the same, but the beggining and end are different. Wolf look exactly like he does, but the Aliens are that of AvP. The main Hive is still in the hospital however.

Value
If your looking for a simple hack-n-slash then this is the one for you. Personally I think it's quite fun just running around killing Aliens here and there. The game isn't long though, or hard so you'd probably complete it in just a few hours. It has skirmish and a two player so theres lots of replay value. On the two-player you can select from four different costumes (Original, Wolf, Celtic and Ritual (like CJ but red). You can choose from five arenas the cemetary, power plant, store, main street and the high school. Skirmish is basically the same except you have to kill as many Aliens as you can before the time runs out.

Overall, I think it's a worthy buy and full of great stuff. Go get!

4/5

I mean all possible points, like you don't kill any humans that are unarmed, you destroy all husks, don't let an alien kill an unarmed human, don't use your medikit, etc...

I wonder if you can unlock another level or something.

Unfortunatley you don't get anything for getting full points. Pretty crappy that, theres no reason why you would want to try and get full points...

well, its the best game ive played on psp for a while. its a bit too easy, but fun at the same time.

this was a very fun game to play, but only one hybrid, no predalien. in the second from last level, there are a few runner aliens. they look like regular aliens but aa bit more brown and never stand up, i didnt notice them untill i played again.
the wepons are good, efective againsed normal aliens (which are the ones from AVPR) but less effective againsed praytorians. the facehuggers are ok, you get 50 honor points with each one you dissolve, but it would be cool if they ran around. there should be more wepons to use, as the hand held plasma caster is the best, as its so fast to use. good game

When I saw that Rebellion is going to do another AVP game, I was excited as hell. Those guys once made the best Alien and Predator game ever existed. Game that stills scares crap out of me. So I bought AVP:R, and... well, that's how I felt:

The game is very, very good, although it could have been better. Graphics are great - especially for such a small console, and vision modes are the best looking things I've ever seen. Heat vision looks EXACTLY like in movies! Sounds are mostly OK, music... well, there is music. Sometimes very good, sometimes not very special. Let's just say that audio-visuals are really good.

I liked the storyline -or rather lack of it. Seriously, if we're a Predator, why would we need something more complicated than "go there and hunt the Aliens"? Simplicity helps in getting into the character. What I didn't like is only one boss fight. And pretty disappointing, too - it isn't much harder than the rest of the game, which is, to say at least, easy. Wasting Aliens is helluva fun, but it isn't a challenge. And that's the game's biggest problem. Of course I find it funny to repeat some levels, but I'd like to get some new ones, or play old ones on higher difficulty settings.

About the levels. Some are little masterpieces. City centre with the tank driving around, the mall, sewers - these places look so realistic that I really feel I'm there hunting xenomorphs. And humans. Why do I mention the humans? Because parts when they're the main enemy are the best parts of the game. And that's a pity that there are only two levels in which we can turn the heat vision on, cloak ourselves and hunt some marines. Oh, have I mentioned that the cloak effect looks incredible? Man, tho guys who made graphics for the game should get some kind of reward. Great job.

To summarize all things - game is fun, fun, fun. Looks and sounds great. Has some really cool levels. And is short and easy. Still, if you like it, you'll repeat it over and over again - cause it's enjoyable. If you find pointless wasting Aliens not the best thing to do with your PSP - don't waste your time and money for this game.

9/10
+ audio-visuals
+ fun!
- easy
- short

I got me a PSP and this game the same day. I'll keep it brief.

Haven't seen the movie yet, it premiers in Russia on the 10th of December, but I have to say that there are a lot of cool scenes that I want to experience in the movie.

Action: I don't like 3rd-person-shooters, but this one is awesome as hell, this game features some cool battles and it's very easy and fun to play.

The game should have been named Predator + any cool word, because there is no versus content, you just kill serpents and humans like bugs, but anyway it's cool.

The game is pretty short, so I might want to complete it again and again because I'm not getting tired of it and the scenes are changing pretty quick so you get them thrills all the time.

Graphics look cool, especially the cloaking effect.

My rate is 10/10, one of the best PSP games ever made in that genre.

The game is pretty fun. Here is what I think about it:

8,4/10
+ Pretty fun
+ Cool and useful weapons
+ Cool design on those young queens (some of them remind me about Chet)
+ Cool stages

- Chet/PredAlien is not in the game.
- F***ing easy
- Aliens is way to easy

I like the game. It's a little too easy but it's fun either way. I like Skirmish, it's really the only challenging part of the game besides finding things.

8/10.

Good:
Fun game
Easy to master controls
Cool weapons
Good character designs
Skirmish Mode is fun
Separate "routes" through the game.
Your weapons get better as you go on
Cool levels

Bad:
No predalien
You don't choose what is upgraded and what isn't.
Your weapons are just given to you.
Losing points for accidentally blowing unarmed humans away
Too easy
No jump button
