The "temple" is shaped almost exactly like the Derelict ship. Maybe it's not a temple at all--maybe the Derelict is simply buried under a layer of ground?

As I mentioned above, I think it is either a Prometheus ground vehicle, or a habitation module that has been installed on the surface (after the Prometheus landed).

Fair point, but non of that explains why there's a road in the teaser, while this new trailer shows several more intersections at 1:11... this place has got to be a station of some kind for me!
Am I correct that the music is a "dubstep" remix of the original trailer music--that thing all teh kiddies are into these days? :P It's so awful, haha. Clearly trying to lure in the 25 and under crowd there. The images make up for it though. Noomi looks amazing.
This raises so many questions for me but WOW... those visuals! Ok, CGI... I see what you did there. I hope a lot of this footage is making the final trailer cut so we can study it in glorious HD. At this stage it's a little pixellated but still a quality clip which came out of the blue!
I'm still very curious about the space jockey. Is it safe to assume that tall guy we saw in the teaser trailer is the space jockey in a suit? I know there's a rib-cage mechanism locking the jockey in place but how much of that space jockey is a suit and how much is real is what I want to know... I just really want it to be treated right because it was one of the big mysteries in Alien.
The cinematography and overall colour palette is a very strong indication that the look is going to be completely different from Alien but, so far anyway, the links to Alien seem to be plentiful. Or maybe that's just us projecting again. :p
I keep having to remind myself that Scott and the cast have said that it ties in and has connective tissue but it's also its own story.
I'm just really worried about this mutation element to the story and how far it will go.

Me too. I think the tall guy is indeed the space jockey, or one of them. In the new trailer you can see him about to attack or do something to Kate Dickie's character--he's huge.

The Jockey suit idea was thrown out there, rumored only some years ago... certainly not part of the original intention. Besides that, we already got great Aliens that use a biomechanical suit, designed by Patrick Tatopoulos. I'm sure Ridley can come up with something of his own. ;)

No offence to the artist if it is indeed her music, but I'll echo what a lot of you have been saying - that music is horribly out of place. It doesn't set a sinister and intense atmosphere. And I just don't care for that track in general.
But still, new footage! Yay! ;D

Man, this looks incredible.
Sir Ridley Scott wasn't kidding when he said this movie would be dark, mean, nasty and disturbing!
There appear to be mutations and other nasty things the crew has to deal with. The guy checking his eye in the mirror....it shows a small barb/spike retract back in. He's got something nasty inside him. :o
Then we have what looks like Shaw giving birth to something nasty, a crew member getting something snake like crawling into his suit(I suspect this is the same guy who gets the acid burn from *inside* his suit).

Some of the music in this trailer felt like the Smashing Pumpkins track they used for the Watchmen trailer. The sound of it. The rhythm of it. The instrumentation. Just not put together quite as wonderfully. To many unconnected pieces. A little NIN like too. Dat guitar.

I did Google it but the last time I used a website to convert the time for something, I ended up being an hour off. I worked it out to being 1am on Sunday, 18 March. Is there anybody in the same time zone who can confirm this for me? I would really appreciate it.
And as for the live Theron & Fassbender interview, is that taking place at 4:30 pm UK time?
Hi guys, newbie here.
Just a curiosity I noticed in the scene where the alien/monster/infected crewmember is throwing another crewmember into the air, with two guys shooting in the background ... it's clearly very different to the same scene that appears in the trailer teaser from a few days ago.
It doesn't look like the extremely tall, large-headed 'monster' that appeared in the teaser, but more like a man. He also has fire on his foot, unlike in the earlier footage.

I know what you mean mate, i've been a member here for YEARS, albeit a quiet one, but i always seem to feel the same sense of camaraderie and family feel. I always seem to distract myself here when things aren't looking so good on the homefront.

That trailer felt so odd to me. It didn't seem like a trailer, more like a clip at first, and then jumps into trailer mode. I'm not sure how I feel about it in general.

This is going to be the best thing that's happened to this franchise since Aliens.
Things i've noticed:
whats the big thing opening up that somebody is jumping accross? derelict hangar?
is the big transparent pod a cryosleep pod or a medical pod? (theres shot of both in the trailer i believe)
the arm the snake slides in doesnt appear to be the same as the crews suits, (it has a mechanical joint at the elbow?)
Vickers is toting a flamethrower.
Holloway in his seat at the beggining of the trailer looks a lot like bald blue guy to me? same "dopey" expression lol
where people ask if the prometheus is on the ground when the derelict explodes, is it ANOTHER derelict?
The space jockeys suit appears to be OPENING not closing.
I'm guessing hes in the suit when they "meet" him, then he gets out and we have the scene where shaw and someone else encounter somebody (we see their hand)

That was amazing! This movie looks terrifying, which is exactly what I was hoping for. There's that fear of the unknown, of something truly alien and lethal, just like the Nostromo crew encountered in the first movie. I can't wait to see this!!

It has Dubstep timing, but NIN style sound. Not very good, but not enough to even put a dent in the trailer. Marketing and the actual movie are so far removed I don't even worry about it.

recent speculation has this as "playback" from the spectagraph scanners.
looks like the crew caught/scanned something or someone when scanning the place!
So this looks to be also a mystery movie (but in a different way than Alien) with at least 2 conflicting sides with opposite agendas, and possibly someone acting on his/her own.

Compare the sizes on the next pics: the very upper projection on the left part of the chair should be right on the same level, as CJ's back of the head, and on the Giger's drawing this bolt-like projection is connected to CJ's head by some sort of tubule:

Yeah, I noticed that too. I simply think that the marketing people for this trailer have been provided with more dated material than the marketing people who are cutting the official trailer 2 (the 2min 30 sec one) that is to be released later in the day/tomorrow at wondercon and online. It's not uncommon to see this kinda think in marketing campaigns for big films as often there are many people/ companies involved throughout the world and they all have various versions of the material still in works (in regards to the vfx shots anyway).

In what I can make out of this episode, the suit is rather adjusting itself, tightening around the holder, look it has mechanoid patterns appearing on the elbow and the upper part of the arm.

So It is true that one folk who said before that the suit is actually detaching from the wearer, and It looks like the outcome could very well be something like the alien, at least the biomechanical body I'm sure. I think a bit of the iconic chest of the alien can be seen after the chest part detaches.
So the alien could be created in the chair as I had been thinking for a while...., let's wait and see, but this is utterly epic. Can't wait anymore.

Yeah, that'd be my favorite. The strange aesthetic of having such a primitive weapon like a fire axe to use against an opponent in a technologically advanced, futuristic environment (not to mention that armored suit) really gets me going... and seeing the rubble in the hallway behind her is just fantastic.
So many little sci-fi fetishes in that shot.
In the shot with the jockey in the chair, just before it cuts you can see the arm/shoulder area beginning to dissapear also as if it's some sort alien technology morphing the suit away or something.
Plus i liked the fact they are including shaky helmet cam footage into the movie also.
Music was terrible tho :(
Oh and my favourite thing about this movie so far is the planet itself, the atmosphere looks uttery incredible, just love the drenched out grey/steely blue look it has with the clouds and lightnight forks etc, awesome.

I really really have mixed feelings about this shot. First i like that the design and everything is almost the same as the 79 one but it looks really small. His head should be a lot higher now it looks like a lazy teenager sitting on his chair.

Perhaps the Jockey grows? Look at the big knob/hammer shaped structure on far right. If you look at Giger's concept paintings, that's the handle the Jockey grips onto. Obviously, tiny nerfed jockey can't reach it, but it looks like maybe it grows in such a way that it's arms can touch it.

Problem is we're assuming it's the same jockey in the same ship! I don't think Ridley would let such a continuity problem slip by. I think the suit has a few secrets yet to be revealed, mainly involving adapting to the form that inhabits it. In this movie, a human/synthetic enters the suit.
I think the "derelict" is one of two ships, the other relates to the Prometheus story, while the derelict we know is involved in a subplot that is revealed in the "last 8 mins" of the film.

Allow me to add that in the previous released still with Shaw and the engineer suits in the background, the arms appeared to have the same unusal lenght as the arms of the space jockey in Alien - the suits looked huge as well.
So, if this one appears to be a bit smaller for whatever reason in this exact moment in the chair, I'm sure there's reason behind it. It's obviously changing somehow in that exact moment. They didn't 'screw' anything up. :)
PS: I'm with you on '2 different engineer ships -> 2 different crews'. Don't know if this has been brought up in this forum, but there are some quite noticeable design differences in the arms sections of the engineer ship seen in Prometheus and the one in Alien. I doubt very much the filmmakers/designers made some errors/mistakes.

Still not liking the designs. The whole biomechanical concept of the jockey/chair is completely washed away by now; and I doubt the suit grows and welds with the chair. The environment does look alienish, but it lacks a lot of life! Looks like plastic lol.
Anyway, is it safe to say the Jockey concept follows the xeno concept? The Jockey doesn't have to be the inteligent being behind everything. It could be just like the alien; an engineered being bornt from a carrier. We seem to have a new kind of facehugger now, so that does make sense.

Yeah, the Derelict sets do look very plastic-y, not organic at all like the original. Hopefully the final color grading will go some way to covering that up.
Hm... feel a bit let down. I mean sure the film still seems very promising to me, but the trailer was just edited horribly and had no tone/no vibe to it at all... frametimes on the characters were way too short to build up any kind of tension whatsoever... however that's just the trailer...

Definitely different ships and no doubt different Jockeys - no disagreement there - but the chair, regardless of its slight design differences, is still of the same make and most importantly of the same

Ridley has made it clear Prometheus is an entirely new story except for the last 8 mins when a connection between Alien is made.
Everyone is assuming it's the derelict, or it's the same jockey. I think the story is about humans f*cking about with jockey technology. The jockey we meet in Alien is the real deal, opposed to a human trying to occupy the suit seen in the IMAX trailer.

Still doesn't solve the issue with the head and shoulder's size. Look at where they should be.
I'm not worried though. Like another member said, the released still had properly sized jockeys. And it could be a suit that grows, and maybe transforms into what we see in the 1979 film.

If the snake-thing is the proto-xenomorph, then I think Ridley is just showing how the SJ in the derelict from Alien was implanted by the xenomorphs. Not necessarily the same SJ... just because there's a lot of very passionate opinions held here that the planet is not LV-426, that the derelict is not THE derelict, etc. Don't want to get into that argument again.
Or perhaps it's the Crazy Zombie Mutant, after the Prometheus crew (what's left of them) escapes, he's wandering around the "temple" and meets a certain snakey-thing...

I think that space jockey in prometheus is only "half of this species". I mean that crew of prometheus took over some technology from them (biomechanical suit) and creature from last seconds of trailer is a human in space jockey suit. It has sense because this creature is too emaciated or feminine for original space jockey. And in this last scene is clear to see that suit "grows" on someone.
While I agree the Jockey in the new trailer does look "nerfed", I'm also inclined to go with the idea the suit possibly adjusts itself to the wearer. As you'll see by the comparison below, the Jockeys 'lower arm' appears too short in the new trailer, yet an earlier image featuring Rapace (right, just out of shot below) shows the arm length to be just about right. As most tend to agree, the chair looks different to that in ALIEN but about the right size, yet the blue suited Space Jockey from the teaser looks too small for it, so maybe he isn't the REAL jockey but simply a human mutation of them. Could the Jockeys even be behind the whole thing, still to reveal themselves, while controlling our demise from a safe distance, or as I now suspect, did they leave the scene long ago, and what we're seeing is a repetition of what happened to them, hence the tag-line "The search for our beginning could lead to our end"!!

i did not mention any proto-xenos ??? so what you're talking bout? i just hope the space jockey's aren't just some mutated crew members. i mean, that the jockey's are these serpents and need a host to survive; sounds so underwhelming. but i think i'm wrong, so wrong. and as i said before: if it were possible i would have sex with this trailer.

In the shot of the trailer, the Jockey's chest seems to open. So I presume It's a just a shot of a sequence where he's taking place in the chair. Not the full deal of the scene.
Great stuff, the music I dont like, but the footage is ace. The onyl thing I dont like about it is, what it seems to be quite CG heavy. The landing of Prometheus doesnt really look as artistic and beautiful as landing of the Nostromo and looks very CGI. BUT, special effects for me is one of the least important things. It can be done with matte painting and claymation for all I care, its the story, designs and music I care about
if it adjusts to the wearer, then the big tall blue guy IS a space jockey, and not a mutant.
It was awesome. Giving out a creepy feel but still have kick ass action at the same time.
If sitting in that seat makes you a 'space jockey', sure. I still think it's just one of the crew that's been put through some weirdass metamorphisis and been repurposed to pilot dat shit.

I'm guessing that the rock structure is the hangar for the derelict and these are the doors opening? I would also guess that that sandstorm is the rocky part of the mound being blown off.

I think one leads to the other in the case of the mutant, so in effect we're both right about who the blue guy becomes. What I'm suggesting is he isn't the 'original' jockey, he's just a human version of the same thing, which is more or less saying anything could be part of that suit, but I still think we're yet to see the real deal..... just my take anyway.

That gave me an idea of actual pilot's helmet consisting of two parts - the one is permanently attached to chair and the secodn is the facial mask, which we saw in medlab, like a key and lock. Probably the ship/chair should somehow recognize the pilot or launch the suit growing process... Ah... Sorry for digressing :P
Starting to get the feeling the theory running about Vickers being a robot is very true and that David = Good, Vickers = bad. Just a few of those shots we see of her in this trailer really give that impression. Very "Ash-like" the way she's just standing there.

Holy smokes! At first I was a little disappointed that the movie was going a more action-packed route with explosions, elaborate fighting scenes, all-good-looking-actors, futuristic spaceships and platform hopping. But this trailer for some reason reeled me back in. I've come to accept that this movie won't be a cerebral journey like 2001 or Solaris, nor will it be anything like Alien.

Im not sure if its been mentioned but in that scene in the trailer the whole suits is transforming. watch it frame by frame.
On the elbow, that black circle u see forms aswell as the tricep and bicep area starts to move and transform. The rib cage moves outwards and inwards as though its about to connect to the nose piece. and the shoulder start to move back and get bigger

More the mask than a hugger. Though the dimensions seem off for the mask. But if the mask conforms to the wearers face then all bets are off.
The mask kinda looks like a species of facehugger anyway so there could be a connection.
doesn't look like a tail or finger or anything solid. it's likely a reflection in the glass. you can see how it contours with it. you can also see a reflection of her shoulder.

On the subject - I'm faily certain than Mr Blue who activates the chair will also be the one who sits in it. I don't buy the human angle, filling out the suit and flies the ship etc. Shaw and Vickers are seen running on the ground when it crashes - they cannot be onboard the engineer ship. Neither do I believe that Mr Blue is a mutated crewmember or anything like it - imo he's the real deal - an engineer.
Ms Blonde on the other hand, could turn out to be a total psychopath with a flamethrower. ;)

Well, we haven't seen anything suggesting/confirming that the Prometheus crew has anything to do with the chair. I'm guessing that if anyone 'is able to 'interface' with the engineer ship, it's David.
Regarding Weyland, I believe he thinks in
much broader visions than 'just' prolonging your physical life, if he turns out to be onboard the Prometheus. I would say (in continuation of his TED talk "we are the Gods now") that if he's along for the ride, he's there to meet his Maker/God face to face in a very literal sense. Nothing less could do it for a man with his extraordinarly mind I would think. He may think that God/the engineers are his only equals in this Universe.

In the higher quality trailer at 0:50 mark you can see they are being scared by someone big coming towards themin the ampule room. you only get to see the big ass hand, but the guy in the back points his riffle toward it and the chick looks scared by whatever is that big thing.
At 0:56 you get to see someone pointing quicly the flashlight at something, that is close to the ground judging by the direction.
So they will probably be ,,greated'' by the space jockey in one of the rooms, and in another one something small that moves close to the ground scares the other guy,maybe it's the snake-thing

Some are debating for sure. Some are honestly being over critical over minor details that have no context. Like, I don't think the space jockey maybe being a touch smaller, or that it is a suit, matters. Many seem to think it will ruin the film.
I am confident it will at least be decent movie. At least it will be better then anything that came after the first "Alien".
All looks good. On closer inspection the jockeys 'suit' appears to be retracting into the chair. Interesting!

The inner door seems to match with the spy pic entitled 'Magellan Mess Hall' so could this be all that's left of the Magellan along with an earlier David model? Perhaps this is where the mysterious cocooned man fits in as well?

Did they mess up on recreating the design, or are there two different space jockey chairs? The way the markings and contours are arranged are quite different.

You can clearly see the different haircut style the one in the front is Vickers the hair type is totally different and the one in screens is David and clearly a different haircut.

We have seen this set piece before in the spy pics and teaser trailers (without all the junk in the foreground) and it does not seem to fit anywhere with the Prometheus or it's garage pod. The inner door seems to match with the spy pic entitled 'Magellan Mess Hall' so could this be all that's left of the Magellan along with an earlier David model? Perhaps this is where the mysterious cocooned man fits in as well?

A base? Why would the crew of the Prometheus make a base when they have everything they need on their (huge) ship? And where would these materials come from anyway? That structure is not the garage pod, I would say that it's what is left of the Magellan. Probably covered in sand when they first get there.

Think it's more likely to be a large chunk of the Prometheus. We know smaller parts get strewn over a wide area after it collides with the Derelict, so it's logical to assume something big could have come down too. I recall that debate about Prometheus being the mother ship, which sent the Magellan down to the planet to investigate. But to be honest even after seeing the teaser trailer, it's pretty clear Prometheus does the whole thing. I could be wrong but I doubt this Magellan ever existed really.

After having seen the eyeball tendril int his most recent trailer I think I may not be crazy after all. What you'll see is a sliver of a tendril wagging out from her shoulder, just above the 'h' of prometheus in the final screencap, as she unzips her suit:

I think that between the 3 tendril scenes, we can confirm that some sort of symbiote/parasite/infection is occurring and is affecting many members of the crew.
I have also started to wonder if there are 2 alien species being dealt with; the engineers (pale-blue figures) and the space jockeys. Perhaps a war between the two occurred or is occurring and we have found ourselves in the middle? Not sure how the tendrils fit in though, unless they serve as a weapon used from one against the other.
A theory on the shot of someone/thing running away at 50 seconds into the vid, not sure if its been suggested already but could it be a scan view from one of the red orb sonar mapping devices?
Also, the scene where a tentacle hits the window Shaw is peering through, i'm sorry but that just reeks of rubber prop :(
Even the space jockey room has different wall patterns than the one in Alien. Again, design inconsistency or entirely different room and perhaps space jockey? (Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed)

I don't know if this has been brought up, but I just watched the IMAX trailer in 720p on the PS3, and the shot towards the end of Shaw on the bed thing, when it's close up on her face there appears to be what I can only describe as the digits of a Facehugger, and the tail, attempting (very fast) to get at her face. I often used to mistake him for Tom Hardy. Guess he's there to appeal the ladies.
Same goes with Theron, she's a good actress but way too pretty for the movie.

Fassbender is manly. Marshall-Green looks like a GAP model. (For the record, I'm a lady and he doesn't appeal to
me.) Also, Charlize is ungodly gorgeous, but she can also be quite creepy and intimidating, which more than makes her plausible in the context of this film. Plus, she's a great actress. I'm not vouching for Green's acting skills, but he just
looks completely out of place.
I don't think he looks out of place at all. No more then botoxed to hell Noomi Rapace. If anything the entire cast appear to be unique characters unto themselves. I like that maybe some one appears not to fit in.

I may be a bit late to the party, but have you folks seen the International version of the Trailer, which is posted at the top (updated). IMHO, the International trailer has the better, classier presentation, especially the score...although it may be walking the fine line of providing too much info. / potential spoilers. There is some very significant dialogue bits in the International Trailer.

also notice how big the "god" is on the tablets and things compared to the humans, almost twice as tall!
I did notice, alot of people say it may not be the Jockey that is causing the strife in this film but another alien race that also got the invitation... clever, but we haven't seen anything to prove it yet.
We know there'll be a huge humanoid from the trailers and there is one in the pictogram, I think I'm fine to just lump this thing and the Jockey together as the same being and refer to it as the Engineer.
I'm pretty sure Blue bald man isn't a Jockey as we know them,i think Ridley has saved something for us ;)

What is this obsession with the Jockey being some kind of an infection thing?
I'd bet good money the tall man IS The Jockey. He goes into the suit and pilots the ship. He, or one of his kind, is seen at the dawn of time.
My bet is the Jockey unleashes the creatures on the crew when he's disturbed, the crew awaken them when tampering with the suit/corpses, or trigger an automated system when entering the ampule room.
I don't think there's any major twist in terms of the Jockey. I know a lot of folks want to believe we're going to see some Lovecraftian Cthulu Old one thing that comes out of the dark, but I honestly believe the large humanoid who is seen raising the control console, and on board Prometheus in the trailers is The Jockey/Engineer.
As far as Weyland goes, I could see David maybe having such a fascination with what they encounter on behalf of Weyland, and perhaps be compelled to expose some of the crew to it on purpose also by Weyland's command. (Very fitting with what took place with Ash).
I guess my point is don't push so hard for what you expect or want to see. Let the unexpected and the different be okay. A lot of people seem to have already set themselves up to be disappointed, not because what Prometheus is going to do is necessarily bad, but because it's different from what people expected.

Because of the mythological elements in the story. I'm pretty confident that the blue guy plays the part of 'Prometheus', having stolen fire (their tech) from Zeus (The SJ's) who then send an eagle (the slithering creature) to peck out his (the human's who brought him there) liver.

...No. That's definiately not what's implied. Especially now that we see Shaw looking at the face in AWE, and that face is most definately related to the tall guy.

He respects his own source material so much he changed the Derelict walls to make them look like mass-produced plastic mechanical parts instead of biomechanical flesh-y material? ;) The Jockey is most likely the blue guy. The suits are obviously made for people of his size, and he's there at the "beginning of time" sequence in the trailer.
And I for one actually think the blue guy that we see will end up actually being Guy Pearce. I am almost 1000% sure he goes on this mission with him. Because even Scott has said so, though it is kind of cryptic, in him and Damon's Q and A. He said he is in the movie and that this movie takes place in the late 2080's to 90's and that he is definitely an older man. I think he is searching for an answer to reverse his aging or something. In turn his carefully placed Synth, David, who the crew doesnt know is a Synth, will help him in fulfilling this task. In the process they have to experiment on something and that in turn is this crew you have that came along.
I for one do not think we will see an "original" Jockey for instance, but that we might be looking at how the jockey race continues on with their own evolutions. Maybe that is exactly how for hundreds of thousands of years they have kept going, by just taking over another species with some of their own DNA.
Just a thought but I think I am right about Pearce. And even though Pearce said he is only in the movie a minute, I think he might have been referring to the fact you only see him in the movie for a minute like we see him in any movie and that is without makeup and the such, we already know that the tall blue guy/ jockey is being played by the tall stunt guy, probably has little if any dialogue so Pearce essentially wont be in the movie at that point and only as the crew knowing he has become something.... Not comparable IMO. The new look of the Derelict and the human tech is a design choice, the new 'Jockey' is a contradiction of what the original implied - to me that being a
giant alien, suit or no.
I'm just thinking of other possible ideas. We don't know anything until the movie comes out. Yeah, I'm sure the big tall guy is the Jockey, but hell why not let our imaginations have some fun. :)

WE get it because we know all about this universe, and we think that Ridley would not spoil the beans.
BUT we are not the main target, the average moviegoers is and he has no f**king clue who is that guy, or whats going on. I think you're gonna be in a world of hurt if you start imagining stuff that could make the humanoid Space jokeys ok (like another real space jockey race). The Engineers shown in the archeological artefact are humanoid giant.
Thats it! Now there will be subtle details about them either design wise or life cycle wise that will make them more than just "tall blue bald guys in suits".
This concept serves a purpose, a theme and works way much better than all the show off cgi overdone weird looking intelligent alien creatures i've seen for years.
They will look and interact with humans as real characters not as special effects.
Dunno... It works for me and i like the design.

I did feel let down at first, until I realized how stupid it would be for the Space Jockey to actually just be a giant alien, lumbering around. If properly executed, the Jockey mythology in Prometheus could be amazing--however long a shot that is.

Because of the mythological elements in the story. I'm pretty confident that the blue guy plays the part of 'Prometheus', having stolen fire (their tech) from Zeus (The SJ's) who then send an eagle (the slithering creature) to peck out his (the human's who brought him there) liver.

I think the humans steal their tech once they get there, which causes the guy look like that.
Also let's clear up this 'beginning of time' buisness. Just because it was called that doesn't mean the shot of the waterfalls and infected arm are literally happening at the beginning of time. Ridley probably meant that metaphorically, as in maybe it's taking place as that world is beginning to be terraformed by the SJ's.
On the ceiling of the ampule room I think I can see a mural depicting the semi-conjoined fingers of the Alien!
This has got to be part of the DNA mix of the Alien's distinctive '6 finger' design.

I meant that to humans 12 feet is certainly tall, but not Jockey tall. The guy who supposed plays this 'Jockey' could almost take it on in a fist fight (and lose, terribly). The original Jockey has 12 foot
arms!
Anyway, the Jockey doesn't even need to be in the film at all IMO. The Engineers can be something else and be totally awesome. I just hope they are different things.

I am with Cvalda on this one...
Ridley never thought he'd be making a prequel while he was making the first alien movie, so he just played around with the jockey size.
Now that he's basing a whole new franchise on that jockey, he is confronted with inconsitency in many ways.
If the size of the jockey is already a problem for you, because it doesn't go with what you know from the alien franchise, then brace yourself... I'm sure this movie will have to walk across some more things that the original series built up.
The astronauts suit may be a far stretch from what we saw in the alien movie, but it still looks like the Frickin jockey so I'm happy.
I asked for something new and Ridley is delivering, so I really can't complain at this point. The only thing that would kill me, is bad CGI and practical effects on the jockey. The one second segment of the seatbelts coming off the jockey really made me cringe since it looked so damn fake...

This alleges to be 720, and it does look a bit higher in resolution...
I can't wait for the 1080 of this to be released. Despite the wretched dubstep music and editing, this is easily my favorite trailer of the three new ones. Some really tantalizing shots in it!

I noticed that the SJ we see isn't an actual walking around suit. The ribs and parts of the arms are just retention/protection devices that clasp ontop of whatever is in the chair. IT kind of reminds me of the technology in the original stargate movie, where it just unravels from around the person entirely.
I have a feeling there is a human sitting in that chair and the "suit" conformed around him or her. The chair is obviously for a bigger creature/person than whoever is in it.
In fact, whoever is in this chair has pretty scrawny looking arms because there more room in the "Suit" hole than the arm takes up, and it reminds me of a kid putting on an adult's suit or something. Sure, it fits, but its wayyy too big for whoever it was made for.
Also, the neck seems a little small as well..

That shot of the multiple temples blew my mind. Here we all were thinking there was one temple, then that long shot shows 3 of them in a row, surrounded by what look like huge patterns in the surface of the planet, similar to the Nazca lines.
