To be honest, i think it's marketing by now. It can't be that big of a budget, yes, they have really great sets, but also a cheap location (Vancouver), cheap actors (love me some Thomas Jane, but he's B-Movie by now), re-used a lot of stuff from studio ADI and now save up on a lot of creatures and visual effects that were cut entirely.
The budget maybe bigger than the old movies, but that is not saying much. For example, Predators did cost a whopping 20% less than
The Nice Guys.
It doesn't need to be huge, and i'm sure it will be a kick-ass movie, but i'm not falling for budget talks anymore.
