No idea, if ALIEN DAY is a thing this year (or have I missed some official announcement), but here my own try to give a bit hype-up. :D

What's everyones plans for Alien Day?
I never saw the assembly cut of Alien 3, so I'll be watching that.
^If you love character development, further explanations, and alternate situations, your view on the film will change forever. Be sure to tell us what you think of it, as I think it is miles better than the TC. A blend of both cuts would be ideal and best, but it is still great.
As for my plans on Alien day, once I'm done with school I will head to TRU and probably pick up the NECA Alien 3 Ripley if it is still there. Then landscape all day due to the crappy weather approaching the rest of the week. :laugh: I will try to squeeze in some kind of Alien viewing tho.
Not long now... just around the corner and we'll be bombarded with so much ALIEN goodies and new movie content.
I'm actually feeling quite intimidated by not knowing what's just about to hit us. Fresh movie footage. New viral content. Announcements from companies like NECA... and that's just stuff relating to the new movie.
God knows what else is going to hit the deck in terms of announcements. Toys, books, DVD and BluRay re-releases. Wow. Last year's inaugural festivities feel like a test bed for what's about to hit this week.
Personally, I'm hoping for a new ALIEN game of some sort. I don't care if it's stealth, FPS, RTS, NSFW or whatever... I just want it to be moddable. Certainly, we're overdue for a moddable ALIENS game. Who doesn't want that?

Coz really, even the piece of shit that was 'ALIENS: Colonial Marines' was an ideal modding platform. FPS. ALIENS. Unreal Engine 3 (Which at the time was also known as UDK - and was installed on over a million user's PC's) was the great opportunity for a moddable game. If it was moddable, you'd have hundreds, maybe thousands of items of custom content now and people would still be churning out stuff for it. The game would be selling still on the strength of such content.
'AvP' and 'AvP2' were the only truly moddable games... and they're 15 years old now. People still make custom stuff for 'em, too.
15 years later, 'A:CM's modding community would be doing so as well. If if had been given the opportunity.
We need something along those lines where community creativity can flourish and not a flash in the pan hipster 3D VR disposable piece of junk. You know it.

Lots of pictures to upload from the big event. Have to say I was impressed at how the astronaut suits (two different designs present) had actual functional displays on the insides of the helmets.
The creature designer guy apparently revealed a partial spoiler without realising, during his talk. :) For those tracking our Twitter account, I tried to live-cast videos of all the major stuff, which should all still be on there.
It all culminated with a screening of 'Prometheus', then the new footage you've all now watched, which segued into completely new footage (about ten/fifteen minutes) from the coming film.
Have been in wait-and-see mode for AC, but what we viewed convinced me the characters should be on par with those of the original two films, reaction/interaction-wise. Very visceral, but the way the characters responded was what sold it. That frantic atmosphere which made Lambert's demise so memorable in the original film? It was there in spades and really helped.

I think it was better than last year but mostly because of all the Covenant stuff coming out too. Product wise, like last year, only a few I was actually interested in. I brought some of those Fright Rag socks and I'll get the audio drama when I return to civilization and can download it without struggle.
I'm disappointed we didn't get any new game announcement though. :'(

Same here, with halo wars 2 done and dusted this would have been a perfect time for creative assembly to announce alien isolation 2.
Sadly though I don't think that game will be happening.
I thought the day made some great reveals. The extra prologue to 'ALIEN: Covenant' was great - and I didn't have to be a US citizen to benefit from it. Lots of product reveals and I'm going to order some of them luvverly Super7 blind box ALIENS. They're definitely heading my way once I get paid. Beyond that, there wasn't a lot that appealed - just the NECA figure for the new movie.
Of course, I was disappointed there was no new game revealed. Too bad that one. Overall, though, it was pretty cool. There sure is some weird stuff heading our way. Mr. Potatohead Alien and Nesting doll Aliens were a bit confounding. I mean, really? those things are a thing but 'ALIEN: Isolation 2' is a no show..?
It is a bit bewildering sometimes, I'll say that much for sure.

well, it's not like they are the only pair and have to be displayed behind bullet proof glass. If you want to wear them, rock em! I always had a habit (even as a kid with my basketball shoes) to clean my favorite shoes once I'm done wearing them and put them back in the box to keep me fresh. That reminds me... I need to clean my Giorgio Armani sneakers I wore yesterday :laugh:

Do you know what. I was really hoping that we would get an announcement of a new Alien graphic novel by Tristan Jones. No idea why I put that in my head but I am sorely disappointed. Also, not happy we that no new game was announced.
Personally, I felt let down. They had some epic posters and other limited edition stuff last year and this year they had almost nothing (mondo wise). No interest or ability to play the vinyl records. Socks? Nah. NECA figures were unimpressive (I don't like the Kenner stuff, no nostalgia factor so not my thing). There were no screenings around me to go see (I've always wanted to see the first 2 films in theater). The audible drama will be cool I got that (really liked the first one, Out of the Shadows).
I hope they can do something more like a full convention style thing next year, have all the living actors and actresses show up for autographs and pictures, screen all the films, costume contests, etc. THAT would be a true ALIEN DAY, IMO.
Yeah aside from the covenant news it felt like even less was going on this year. No screenings near me either.
