Probably had bad luck with apple-filled versions, tomato+apple here is referred to as chutney and it's not to everyones' taste. And definitely not on pasta.

We only use "caviar" to refer to fish eggs/roe here, so I've never had that exact stuff, but I do enjoy a lot of vegetable puree type things. I made something similar recently with squash, sweet potato, carrots and a few bay leaves, then mixed in some rice and made stuffed filo pastries with it.
