Escape from LA

There's some cool moments here and there, but this is ultimately a lame and uninspired sequel. Cuervo Jones is a shit villain, the motorcycle chase is the opposite of high octane, and stuff like the surfing and basketball scenes is just cringe worthy. And what is with that weird gag with Snake on a treadmill?

Yeah, as much as I want to like it, that film just sucks.

That said, the Bangkok rules scene might be my favourite Snake moment.

Yeah, that scene and the ending are so good that they highlight how bad the rest of it is. And Carpenter even thinks it's better than EFNY. ???

Shame on you both.
While not the greatest flick, imo it's still better than the average (modern) movie.

Ava (2020)
This one's a stinker. Everything is underwhelming.

Anna (2019)
Excellent. Luc Besson again masterfully directs another film about deadly women, for his fetish, and we're just lucky enough that he shares.

Nightcrawler (2014)
Pretty decent. Though at no point is it said, the main character is a pure psychopath.

Tremors: shrieker island
Appears higher budget than the others. Not better than the first two. Can't see myself watching it more than two times.

Army of the dead
Competent zombie movie. Surprised it did not feel like a clone of other movies.

The Tall Man (2012)

I refuse to believe this is from the same guy who did the fantastic Martyrs.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

This is steadily growing on me. It's mainly just the editing in certain parts that hurts it, so I'd love to get a look at the original three and a half hour cut and see what was removed or changed.

Very weird French horror film.
